About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.

Having pet care responsibilities would be a great way for me to stay busy and active after my shifts or on my days off. Since I don’t have much family or many friends in the area, I genuinely enjoy the companionship of animals and would love to build a bond with your pets. Spending time with them would not only keep them happy and exercised, but also keep me motivated, fulfilled, and connected throughout the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise through walks and playtime, and receive lots of attention, companionship, and supervision while in my care. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure they feel safe and well cared for in their own environment. When I lived in Cameron Park, I cared for five dogs of my own and kept them all very active through daily walks, outdoor time, and structured routines. Since moving, I no longer have pets of my own due to limited space and financial stability, but my experience with multiple dogs has given me strong hands-on knowledge of managing different personalities and energy levels at once. This experience has helped me stay confident and attentive when caring for other people’s pets, and I treat every animal like they are my own while they are in my care.

About: Puppies are my expertise! Dog owner and volunteer at the local Truckee Tahoe humane society. Fostered over 30 puppies and dogs. Love taking dogs on fun adventures around Tahoe. My schedule is open for pretty much anything. Live locally and can accommodate anywhere around the lake. Prefer north/west/east shore. But open to other locations around Tahoe. My dog is family. So I will do the same. I understand how important pups are treat them as I would want my dog treated.

About: Hi, My name is Peach and I have an 8 year old border collie. We love spending time on the open trails, the park, or playing at home. We are open to all types of animals, Brewer used to live on a ranch so he is accustomed to many different types. We are always looking for a play buddy. Currently, we live in Tahoe City. I am in nursing school and work at the hospital. Making sure Brewer, or whichever animal I am caring for, has enough care and attention is extremely important to me. I make sure there are several different activities throughout the day for animals to stay happy and engaged. I am able to keep my dog at home, while I am also happy to come watch your pet in your home or take her out for walks/playtime.

About: Many years experience, owner of two pups (4 months & 10 years), adventure enthusiast. Love all animals and making sure they're safe and happy! Walks, feeding, medication administration, socializing are all a specialty. I am a second year Master's student with a flexible schedule to meet your needs. I am a Master's of Public Health student working remotely. My schedule is flexible depending on the needs of the pets, let me know and I can accommodate! I ensure that pets are fed, have water, are exercised (as needed per owners request), litter boxes are cleaned, fences are locked/closed, and overall that your pet is happy!

About: I have experience working at a doggy day-care. I was responsible for watching and entertaining up to 25 dogs at a time of all ages and sizes! I work 10 hour shifts 4 days a week Tues-Fri. I am not home for pick ups/drop-offs between 7:15 AM-6:30 PM on those days. However my 3-day weekend gives me plenty of time to give your pup the love and attention they deserve! I hope to find some canine friends to hike with me on the weekends. I can cater to whatever your dog needs as I have plenty of experience working with different breeds, sizes, and ages. About: Have an active dog that needs a daily trail run or hike? Have a cuddlebug that needs a cozy spot on the couch? I’m your sitter! I’ve owned and taken care of dogs my whole life. I watch many of my friends/neighbors dogs when they are out of town and always make sure they are happy, fed, and included on adventures. I have experience taking dogs trail running, mountain biking, and backcountry skiing. Your dog will be well loved with me! I currently work part time so I have quite a few days a week that I am available for walks/boarding. I do not work weekends unless I pick up extra shifts at work so that is a great time for boarding as well. I live on a quiet back road with a big yard. There is not a fence. There is a big trail system behind my house and I often take dogs up there for exercise. Inside the house, I am always open to having a dog on the couch or bed as long as the owner is. I am not a partier and am an early morning person. Your dog will be sure to get a morning and evening walk at the minimum. The dogs I walk usually come for any adventure with me, but if you have a senior dog that just needs a place to hang out and be loved on, that’s fine too!

About: I have taken dog training classes at the local animal shelter. I offer puppies plenty of time for teething tug-of-war and have tons of patience with the geriatric slow walkers. I work part time, close to home, which offers plenty of time for dog walking, drop ins and over night care. My hours are flexible. I would keep your dog safe on a leash and have a large crate if that would help them feel secure in a different environment.

About: We are 2 sisters who have always had big dogs around (although no dogs at home currently), and we love taking walks around one of the many beautiful parks in the area. We have one cat of our own, and have experience administering medications, including pills, creams, insulin injections, and blood sugar tests. We have a large car with room for dogs in the back. Please let us know upon booking if you'd like us to walk you dog(s) around your neighborhood, our neighborhood (if nearby) or if you'd like us to take them to a dog park. We are trust-worthy people who follow directions well, so whatever you say is safe for your pets, will be our guideline. We always keep an eye out for any danger! We work from home, so we always have time for walks and pets. We have flexible schedules in general and are glad to work with you to find them best time. We always want to best for any animal and to make sure they are comfortable and happy. Feel free to give us any special instructions or guidelines that will make you dog's walk the best it can be!

About: Hi! My name is Erika and I live in Truckee with my partner Sully and our middle aged husky-mix, Willy. Although, we commonly call her by her nickname, Bill. We’ve been providing house and dog sitting for the past few years now as I have a flexible remote job. Typically I bring Willy with me when watching other dogs as she loves to play! My partner, Sully, will help with dog sits at times. We do travel, as we have a travel trailer, so we will dog sit outside the Tahoe area as well when on the road. I work remotely for a small startup based out of Truckee and have a flexible work schedule during the weekday. I walk my pup at least twice a day already but it is always nice to be in the company of other dogs. I keep my dog on-leash on walks to ensure she stays safe. I always make sure to not leave any food out she may get to, as she quite sneaky!

About: I have grown up with dogs and the daily walks are always my favorite time with them. As a college student I would love to help others and have some time outside with a pet! I also have a year of experience fostering, taking care of a wide array of puppy to elderly dogs. I am available before and after my Cal Poly classes as well as all day most weekends. My class schedule is typically 11-3 Monday through Friday. I understand the pets needs and always stop to smell (pee on) the roses. I am aware of traffic, other dogs, and behavioral triggers through a walk.

About: I’m the go-to pet sitter (aka auntie) for friends when they leave town because they know that while they’re on their trip, instead of feeling guilty for leaving, they can trust their pets will be having too much fun with me to miss them too much. I’m the kind of pet-sitter that will let your beloved dog or cat cuddle me every night, make them sweet potato and peanut butter treats, and take the few minutes to practice tricks and develop training at the beginning of every walk to build trust, rapport, and skills. I love getting to see each pet’s quirks come out as we get to know eachother, and have fallen in love with every pet I’ve had the privilege of hanging out with, from older curmudgeons to mischievous rescues. I work from home and love to be active, so I’ll leave the doors open and be around for daytime company, cuddle breaks on the couch, toy time, and escaping to the beach or mountains to explore the wild together once I'm off the clock. I have a fenced backyard and often leave the studio door open during the day so dogs can easily go out to pee as needed, in a secure enclosure. I can only accept 2 dogs at a time for boarding/day care, so you can rest assured your sweet pup is getting lots of care and attention! I value building trust with pets over time, and see each new character as beloved member of a family that deserves to be given the space, love, and respect to thrive in their unique self-expression. I receive ongoing education in collaborative, trust-based training and communication techniques, and am skillful at using them instead of harsh, dominance-based techniques (while still remaining the firm leader and maintaining safety and order).
