About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I don't have any pets living with me so your pet would be the only one I would be caring for. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.
“Melissa is the best. We are so grateful we found her to take our pup. Tootsie always comes home happy and well taken care of. Melissa makes it so easy to leave her knowing she is in great hands.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Kathy! She took excellent care of our two small dogs over the weekend, and we couldn't be happier with the care they received. Kathy kept us updated with beautiful photos and regular updates, which really put our minds at ease. It was clear that she genuinely loves animals and provided them with the best care possible. We felt 100% confident that our dogs were in great hands. We will definitely be booking with Kathy again in the future! Highly recommend!”

“Could not have been a better experience! Our puppy dog Tito was treated as family during the course of his stay. Andrea was amazing at letting me know he was doing ok and I think Tito has found a new best friend with Henry! Thank you all so very much !!!”

I’m the owner of Furbal Remedies and have years of experience supporting dogs with anxiety, allergies, digestive sensitivities, mobility concerns, special diets, supplements, and medications. I understand how important consistency and attention to detail are, especially for pets with unique needs. My goal is always to help your pet feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. I’ll always treat your home with respect, provide regular updates and photos, and make sure you have peace of mind while you’re away. For first-time clients, I prefer a quick Meet & Greet with you and your dog before their first booking whenever scheduling allows. It gives us a chance to meet, go over their routine, and make sure everyone feels comfortable before their first visit.

About: I'm Rachel, a writer with a flexible schedule and a love of all things canine. I live with my husband, and my chocolate Labrador retriever, Ellie, in our West Shore cabin near Homewood. I'm also happy to hang out and have a more relaxing day with older, less active pups. Ellie (13) is very well-socialized, and she gets along well with dogs of all sizes. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, so I’m always happy to go out for a walk or a hike. Ellie, my 13-year-old Lab, is always up for meeting a new dog friend. “Fin had the BEST weekend with Westan! Westan was an amazing sitter, communicator and so easy to work with. He offered a quick meet and greet as this was our first time using Rover for Fin. Fin immediately took to Westan's loving and fun personality! When we dropped Fin off, Westan already had the house set up and they sped off to a long hike in the snow. Westan kept us updated with adorable pictures throughout the weekend and we felt so at ease knowing that our pup was having a great time exploring Tahoe! I highly recommend Westan and will absolutely be reaching out to him anytime we're up in Tahoe!”

Sometimes sleep together if it's ok with the parents. Have lots of toys and time for walks and play.

When I am not at the hospital working, I can dedicate the whole day to hanging with the pups Dogs will stay in the house with frequent potty breaks. “Jessica was an amazing Rover for our puppy. We dropped her off in the morning at Jessica’s home and picked her up after a day of skiing during our week at Northstar. About: I’ve owned and cared for anywhere from 2-5 dogs and 2 cats at a time my entire life, most of which have been rescues of all ages, sizes, and behaviors. Additionally, I’ve volunteered at the local Humane Society with dogs and cats for around 8 years and have dog and cat watched for family and friends countless times. I’m comfortable with administering oral medication, using feline inhalers, and caring for animals from puppies and kittens to senior dogs. I am generally available every day from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, but can start earlier or end later as needed. On Mondays I am only available until 3:00 PM. Animals love me and I love them- be it hiking and exploring a lake, throwing sticks in the yard, frolicking in the snow, taking a short stroll, chasing a feather on a stick, or just kicking our feet up for a chill day. I have 3 friendly dogs and 2 cats at my home (one laid back, one spunky 1.5 year old) and a large, unfenced area in the woods where dogs can be leash walked or free roam. There are 4 litter boxes and 2 cat trees throughout the spacious multi-floor house. My own dogs are outside playing the majority of the day with water bowls and a bowl puppy pool outside or cooling down inside.
“This was my first time using Rover and Melissa made it such a positive experience! She sent texts with pictures throughout the time day reassuring us that Boo was having a great time! Will definitely be using her again!”

“My husky rescue can be timid and scared in new setting. Nayla and her awesome dog made Freya feel comfortable, playing and hiking and building her confidence. Nayla was prompt, understanding, communicated well and shared lots of pics of their adventures. It was reassuring and awesome to see my dog having a great time. I highly recommend Nayla if you have an active dog and are looking for someone to give them the attention, exercise and love they need while in someone else’s care.”

About: Hello! I'm a highly experienced and dedicated dog sitter with a lifelong passion for animals. What sets me apart from other dog sitters is my commitment to providing personalized, high-quality care for each and every dog in my charge. I have many years of experience working with dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, and I have a deep understanding of their unique needs and behaviors. I am trained in positive reinforcement methods and force-free handling, which allows me to build strong, trusting relationships with the dogs in my care. In addition to my general dog sitting skills, I have specialized expertise in several areas. For example, I have extensive experience working with senior dogs and am skilled in providing the extra care and attention they require. I am also knowledgeable about common senior dog health issues and can administer medications and monitor their health as needed. Another area of expertise is dog training. I am certified in basic obedience and have worked with many dogs to help them learn basic commands, improve their manners, and increase their confidence. I use positive reinforcement methods to train dogs, which means that I reward them for good behavior rather than punishing them for bad behavior. This approach is not only more effective, but it is also less stressful for the dog and builds a stronger bond between the dog and the owner. Overall, I am a highly skilled and dedicated dog sitter who is committed to providing the best possible care for your furry friend. Whether you have a young, energetic puppy or a senior dog with special needs, I have the experience, knowledge, and compassion to ensure that they are happy, healthy, and well-cared for while you are away. I am an independent business consultant so work my own days and hours. It allows me all the time to take care of your dog while you are gone. Proper pet care involves providing a safe and comfortable environment, nutritious food and fresh water, regular exercise, and routine veterinary check-ups. At home, this means keeping pets away from harmful substances, ensuring they have a cozy place to sleep, and spending quality time with them. When caring for pets in client's homes, I follow their specific instructions while ensuring basic needs are met. I also observe and report any changes in the pet's behavior or health to the owner. Overall, responsible pet care fosters a strong bond between the pet and caregiver, promoting the pet's well-being and happiness.

About: Compassionate and dependable animal caregiver with 5 years of hands on experience caring for four Goldendoodles and one Black Labrador. Skilled in providing daily care, including feeding, exercise, maintaining routines, and ensuring a safe, healthy environment. Experienced in managing multiple dogs at once, recognizing behavioral cues, and meeting each animal’s unique needs with patience and attention. Dedicated to promoting the well-being, comfort, and happiness of every pet while building trust with both animals and their owners. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. I regularly go on runs, walks, hikes, paddle boarding trips, and swimming, and I would love to have a dog accompany me during those activities. Caring for pets would add structure and purpose to my day while also keeping me active and engaged. I also work full time as a medical assistant at Tahoe Forest Health System Monday through Thursday from 5:45 AM to 4:20 PM, so I really value making the most of my time outside of work. Having pet care responsibilities would be a great way for me to stay busy and active after my shifts or on my days off. Since I don’t have much family or many friends in the area, I genuinely enjoy the companionship of animals and would love to build a bond with your pets. Spending time with them would not only keep them happy and exercised, but also keep me motivated, fulfilled, and connected throughout the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise through walks and playtime, and receive lots of attention, companionship, and supervision while in my care. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure they feel safe and well cared for in their own environment. When I lived in Cameron Park, I cared for five dogs of my own and kept them all very active through daily walks, outdoor time, and structured routines. Since moving, I no longer have pets of my own due to limited space and financial stability, but my experience with multiple dogs has given me strong hands-on knowledge of managing different personalities and energy levels at once. This experience has helped me stay confident and attentive when caring for other people’s pets, and I treat every animal like they are my own while they are in my care.

IF PRICING IS TOO HIGH SHOOT ME A MEESSAGE WE CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT :) Typically my dog is my world so we go for many adventures and he goes everywhere with me and your pup could as well. If left alone, I do have a way to sepperate puppers. Typically we wake up, I feed them and take them for a walk.
About: I have taken dog training classes at the local animal shelter. I offer puppies plenty of time for teething tug-of-war and have tons of patience with the geriatric slow walkers. I work part time, close to home, which offers plenty of time for dog walking, drop ins and over night care. My hours are flexible. I would keep your dog safe on a leash and have a large crate if that would help them feel secure in a different environment.

“Lindi was awesome. Highly recommended. Punctual, responsible, and trustworthy. She was flexible with changing booking times at the last minute which was great. She was mindful of locking all the door locks behind her which I thought was a nice touch. Although my poor, scared rescue always hid, Lindi tried her best to coax her but to no avail. Lindi sent me pictures of her hiding in the corner and it would make me giggle. Will hire Lindi again once my rescue gets more confident. THANK YOU, Lindi!”

About: I have my own 4 year old black lab who loves attention, long walks, and spending time with other dogs. I’ve hosted many dogs through Rover over the past several years and treat every dog as my own. I prefer to walk or dog sit one additional dog at a time so that they can have individualized attention. I will constantly send photos of your pup while they’re with me and will spend time at any of the nearby parks in the city. I work from home full time so I can host your pup when needed. My dog loves to be with other dogs so it’s great to host during the week for extra socializing. I’m typically available on weekends as long as I’m not heading out of town. My dog loves playing with other dogs and loves trips to the park, but he is also in his old man era and will get lazy after a long walk which brings a good balance of chill time and being active.

We have experience with it all; new puppies and kittens, as well as older furry friends who may need special treatment and/or administering medication. Between the both of us, we always make it a priority to work with our pups with lots of playtime, exercise, training and socialization daily. We both are self employed and create our own schedules so we are flexible and work together to ensure our pets have an enjoyable & active day. We have a large dog-friendly fenced-in yard as well as amazing trails just outside our backdoor. Our Aussie-Border Collie mix, Penny is super friendly and submissive and gets along with everyone. She is super gentle when needed and can hold her own with larger dogs also. We have a very well socialized cat, Eleanor, who LOVES dogs and visitors.

“Could not have been a better experience! Our puppy dog Tito was treated as family during the course of his stay. Andrea was amazing at letting me know he was doing ok and I think Tito has found a new best friend with Henry! Thank you all so very much !!!”

About: My dog recently passed away at the age of 16, so I am just trying to get my doggy fixes in. I would love if they could join me for a run or hike. I currently work full time at an office M-F but come home for lunch for an hour. But I can guarantee a morning, lunch and evening walk (or activity) I live in an adu apartment but have a big open backyard and don’t mind pets on furniture if you don’t mind them on furniture.
About: Dogs have been a central part of my life for more than 10 years. I work part-time and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide dependable care throughout the week. Whether your pet needs a daily walk, a midday check-in, vacation care, or extra attention while you’re away, I’ll do my best to accommodate your routine. I believe consistency helps pets feel secure, so I strive to keep their schedule as close to normal as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions so they receive the same thoughtful care they’re used to at home.

I signed up for Rover because dog sitting helps me get my fix for having a doggy harem. I would love to shower your dog with attention and affection. I volunteer at the local humane society, so I'm very adept at adapting to your dog's needs. I particularly love active dogs, and I'm happy to take your pup on hikes and swims in the lake. Daycare Rates & Information: Daycare is up to 8 hours of care. Anything longer than that time, please book a boarding stay. Drop-offs anytime after 8 a.m. Pickups before 8 p.m. Although there is a nice buffer of woods near my house, the yard is not fenced (hopefully soon). I’ll be sure to keep your pup on a leash just in case! There’s an enclosed deck for sunbathing and watching chipmunks.

“We were so lucky to find Christina last minute. She was so wonderful with Luke and her kids also love to help out and watch the dogs! We had a delay in travel and Christina was super flexible and accommodating.”

“Breanna and Dan were the ultimate dog sitters! Their home is close to beautiful trails, marshes and beaches so it’s like your pup is on a vacation of their own in Tahoe. They took Roo on multiple adventures on her short 24 hour stay and consistently sent me photos and updates. They were very quick to get back to me and coordinating our schedules and booking was super smooth. Roo seemed very at home, comfortable and loved on, I would highly recommend Breanna and Dan as your dog sitters. I will be booking with them for any future Tahoe adventures.”

“Leaving your dogs is never easy, but Christine made it seamless for us and joyful for Willow and Jones. She treated them like her own, created a warm space, and shared the sweetest updates. We came home to relaxed, happy pups, which says everything.”

“Faith was able to care for our dog overnight and she seemed to be happy with the pictures we saw while gone and upon pick up the next day. This was her first overnight stay without family caring for her.”

“Adam and Lauren were incredible. We brought our dog with us for our wedding and Adam and Lauren watched her for the weekend. They worked with us to bring her to the ceremony and pick her up afterwards - they were so communicative and flexible with us. They also really paid attention to our dogs behaviors and took them with care. They helped her feel comfortable and took her on walks/swimming. Thank you so much!!!! Also Stevie is truly the best dog. Super playful and welcoming”

“Teeda was my first try with Rover and it went most excellent! My new to me rescue dog, Tuesday, came home happy and healthy. I loved getting daily photos and status checks whenever I asked. I will definitely use Teeda again.”

“Nayla was amazing with Taquito! She asked a bunch of questions to make sure she knew how to best handle Taquito (on/off leash, if she liked the water, how to best feed, etc) and Taquito was immediately comfortable around her and her pup which is always a relief. She was communicative, sent us a bunch of pictures and flexible with scheduling pick up and drop off. Taquito had the best time and I highly recommend Nayla!”

About: We hit the trails daily and have plenty of safe, secure space to exercise your pup. I'm currently taking on some gig work to supplement my grad school aid as I finish my degree. Time is as precious as the angels by our side, and I’ll treat your pup like my own. For your peace of mind, I maintain an active Wilderness EMT certification, and my trail kit always includes canine-specific tourniquets and first aid. Flexible schedule. We prefer early, especially before a summer crowd, so that there is some safe space for everyone to run off leash and feel the freedom we all deserve. Selectively accepting a few well mannered companions. We'll keep a good eye. I have a couple spare tracking collars if that is a concern for off leash activity.
