“Thank you for the quick response. Sombra is awesome and usually have a friend pick her up on unexpected longer days but they weren't available. Lauren was able to step in on a moments notice. 🐾 of thanks!”

“Leah is fantastic with Dobby. Our first meet and greet last month went very well with my normally reactive dog. But once Dobby sensed Leah’s energy - kind and safe - he had trust in her. He is excited when he see’s Leah and they have really good walks where his tongue is hanging out. We are grateful to have Leah help out with walking Dobby each week!”

“Greg has met with Sasha for a meet and greet, then the next day for a 60 minute walk. My Sasha came home exhausted and happy! Looking forward to doing more business with Greg.”
“Opal was absolutely amazing with Margot! Great communication with us and Margot loved them so much. I would absolutely recommend Opal and would rebook if I was staying in the KC area.”

“Kristle did an awesome job checking on and walking both my dogs together. Both of them are strong and my younger dog can be a challenge. She communicates well and sent me pictures. She went above and beyond what I asked. I will certainly be asking her to walk my dogs in the future! ”

“Eden has been walking our Australian cattle dog for over a year, we couldn’t be happier. Our Holly is a bit of a pill at times, but Eden loves her and works well with her. She isn’t just our dog walker, she has become a friend. Thanks, Ellen F.”

About: I’m a biggg animal lover, a vegan of 10 years, former animal shelter worker & doggy foster mom🤍 a few years ago, I rescued my dog, Blue. Working with trainers for my own dog has deepened my commitment to positive reinforcement and understanding each dog’s unique needs. I’m a full-time registered nurse, so I’m confident administering medications and managing special care routines. I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes—from tiny companions to giant breeds—and I take the time to learn each dog’s quirks, preferences, and sensitivities to make sure they feel safe, happy, and understood. I live in an apartment with plenty of outdoor time, including long walks and play sessions, and I’m happy to help with feeding, training, and care. I currently only work 3 days a week, so I’m usually free the rest of my days off. I’m pretty flexible on scheduling things if you have any last minute needs. I work night shift, so if your dog is fine being left alone overnight let me know and I can board longer than my listed days! I have a pet cam to keep an eye on them overnight. Dog walking/drop-ins: I can come to your home, feed your pup breakfast/dinner, take them out for a quick potty break, play time, or go on a super long walk to tire them out! I’d love to know your dog’s routine, likes/dislikes, an level of energy! Doggy day care: Your dog can hang with me & mine for the day! Guaranteed fun times, cuddles, walks! I love making my space a welcoming & calm environment. I consider myself active, so if your dog is up for adventures/hikes, let me know! Your dog must be house trained & friendly with other dogs. Boarding: If your dog is being boarded with me, they’ll need to be friendly with other dogs, including my playful pup and occasionally my roommate’s small Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix. They also must be dropped off with a crate. I want to make sure they are safe & happy!
About: Before college, I was the primary caregiver for my family’s dog, Max—handling everything from daily walks and feeding to bathing, training, and playtime tailored to his pace and personality. That hands-on experience taught me how to read a dog’s needs and build trust through consistency and care. I’ve also cared for multiple pets through prior sitting experiences, including three dogs of different sizes and three cats, so I’m comfortable adapting to a variety of temperaments, routines, and energy levels. While in college, I’ve continued growing my experience by volunteering with a local shelter’s Doggy Day Out program, taking dogs on walks, hikes, and special outings to give them enrichment and a break from the shelter environment. These experiences have strengthened my ability to care for pets with patience, attentiveness, and genuine enthusiasm. I am currently a student at UNM and working part time, so my evenings are relatively free during the week. Friday afternoons - Sunday mornings are the best time for me to hangout with your pet and care for them full time. Your pet’s happiness, safety, and comfort will always be my top priority. I’ll make sure they get plenty of exercise, affection, and attention—whether that means long walks, playtime, or just lots of love and cuddles. If you choose house sitting, your pet won’t just be cared for—they’ll have a constant companion who keeps their routine consistent and stress-free. I also love taking pets on little adventures, like trips to nearby parks, to keep them engaged and happy. For your peace of mind, I’m happy to provide daily updates with photos and messages, so you always know your pet is safe, relaxed, and having a great time.
“We were looking for a trustworthy, dependable walker for our rambunctious dog and Melissa fits the bill! She seems like a genuinely good person who our dog just adores. It's hard to let a stranger handle your beloved pets. Your friend is in good hands with Melissa! We'll continue to use her for daily walks.”
About: I had a lot of cats and dogs growing up, and I was the neighborhood dog sitter basically from the time I could ride a bike until I left for college. I know for many people today their pets are a furry part of the family, so I would treat them with the same love and care I give my cats and dobies, and make sure your animals are genuinely cared for while you are away. I know what it means to be a good and responsible sitter, and I can guarantee if you trust me with your pets you will not regret it! I'm offering drop-in sitting and dog walking, and I cannot wait to have the opportunity to meet your pets. I work full time, but am available outside of standard working hours to spend plenty of time with your pups! I have pets of my own so I know how important it is to spend time with them & make sure they are happy while you are away. When caring for pets, I always make sure to guarantee they have a comfortable and clean environment as well as plenty of play time (for their benefit & because I just love dogs!)
About: I have worked at Dogtopia and was trained to feed, bathe, walk, play and help dogs. I worked with over 40 dogs at a time. I learned how to manage dogs and also help animals become more comfortable in an environment. I love all animals and am so excited to meet yours! This is my full time job so my time is yours! I am very flexible and will work with you!! I am an early riser and have a vehicle to make my way to you with no problem. Unfortunately, now I will not be able to host animals at my home. But I can stop by and take care of your animals for as long as you need.
“Alexus was great with our dog Nala, helped us out super last minute when we were scrambling to find a sitter. Thank you so much, would absolutely recommend.”

About: I’ve always had a variety of pets in my house. Growing up my family cared for dogs, turtles, fish, hamsters, frogs, hermit crabs, and chickens. We never owned a cat because my mom is allergic to them but since I moved in with my auntie during university, I have lived with one and have loved it! With my grandma, we currently have 6 dogs! We had two (a chihuahua mixed with poodle and another mixed dog) who are the parents of the other four. I was the only one in my house present when my doggy gave birth to all her babies and I was more than excited to be there with her :) I’m a full-time university student at NMSU. I made this account because I plan to be available everyday during my breaks. This might change for a couple of days but I’m not sure yet. Since I will be on break I also plan to be available nights and weekends. My dogs are family dogs and live outside. I don’t have a house of my own but live with my grandma and mom along with my three siblings and one cousin. The dogs are cared for amongst all family members.
“Gavin came over for a meet & greet under really short notice and was available all week when we had a schedule change. He took my two boys on long walks and sent pictures- always a plus! I felt like my dogs were in great hands with him, and we will definitely be using Gavin again in the future.”
About: I have taken care of all kinds of animals as I lived on a farm for a good chunk of my life. I will do the best that I can do to take care of your furry one! I am working full time and I am also a student, but I make sure all pets are taken care of first no matter what. I do live in an apartment by myself with another small dog and cat. They are great with other animals and we have a big backyard to sunbathe roam around in. Anything you may need done in your own home, I can most certainly do too.
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs for the last 7 years. I love house sitting and spending time cuddling with pups or playing outside with them. I have experience giving elder dogs medications or following detailed care instructions. I have a full-time job and work in the office Monday through Thursday. Otherwise, I’m available to be with your pup at home taking care of them. I’m familiar with crate training, as I crate my own dogs when I’m gone. I’m always happy to a walk through of how to lock things up and set up things to keep your fur babies safe. For walking, I’ve used harnesses and gentle leads.
About: I pet sat dogs when I was younger and cats for years. I have more time now and would love to give your babies a lot of attention. 🐶 😺 I currently work from home Sunday, Tues and Thursday, with a LOT of flexibility. I am available overnight 7 days per week with little notice and can adapt to your pets needs. I can care for pets in your home and follow your rules and your pets needs as directed. I'm an adult with a grown kiddo who also loves animals and can give extra attention! ❤️

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Albuquerque
Immediately on the meet & greet, our dog loved Benjamin! Since then, we’ve had Benjamin walk our puppy three separate weekends, and every time he shows up exactly when he’s scheduled and follows our instructions exactly. Even better, Benjamin takes VERY good pictures, and we love getting to show those off to whoever we’re with at the time.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
