“Highly recommend this pair to car for your 4 legged kid. They seem to genuinely love caring for fur babies. Churro had a great time and came home happy. We will be back.”

“My biggest grudge is when someone expresses when they only gave one star " cuz they couldn't give any less"... When do we support local business and recognize our community for the good that surrounds us? !!! Recognize beauty people!!!!! This man is the real thing; a dog whisperer through and through. Incredibly kind, greeting my pup with a treat at first meet. Communication is HUGE for me. Pics were shared - almost immediately - and direct messages were alleviating. We all want to know our loved ones are in the best care. Michael is communicative, engaging with the guests, and truly, one of a kind. I'd book him immediately, if he doesn't forget my little girl...”

“Mark was the perfect sitter for my small dog. He sent me regular updates/photos/and videos--which really helped with my own separation anxiety from my pup. I will use Mark again and highly recommend him. Thanks, Mark!”

“Savannah was great with my Charli. Daily photos were sent to update me. My pooch is still a puppy and Savannah was patient, understanding and even taught Charli how to go up stairs. ?”

About: We've owned dogs and cats ourselves over the years but don't currently have our own fur babies. We've been travelling the country doing pet sitting and have LOVED it! We walk through the dog park across the street just to soak up some of that pure positive energy. We'd love to host your fur baby (ies) and give them tons of love and pets. I work from home and my husband is retired, so they will not lack for attention. We live in a spacious condo, so they need to give enough warning to be taken outside, but we're across the street from the dog park and only blocks from the Bosque, so plenty of places to play and walk here. I work from home and have plenty of breaks. My husband is retired. We have tons of time to shower your delightful creatures with love and attention. We walk every day, so easy to take a dog along. It's easy to fit pets into our routine, and it brings us much joy to have creatures to shower with affection. We live in a spacious condo in a secure building. We have plenty of space and light. Dogs would need to give us enough warning to take the elevator downstairs. We live right by a beautiful dog park, another city park, and the Bosque.
About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.
“Crystal took such good care of my older lab. He has anxiety when he’s away from home. She sent pictures and videos everyday to me to assure me he was doing well. I’m so glad we found someone that cares and loves fur babies. We will be contacting Crystal again when we travel. I highly recommend her.”

“Jamie did an excellent job dog-sitting! She was very communicative, kind, and responsible. She took excellent care of our dog and we would use her again and recommend her highly.”

“I’m so happy we found Ryan to watch our GSP on short notice when we came in town for a wedding! He is friendly and treats your dog like his own. He was excellent in communicating and ensuring our dog was comfortable and well taken care of. I highly recommend Ryan to take care of your pets and would use him again!”

“Rebecca was absolutely wonderful. This was the first time I’ve ever had to board my pups and I was pretty nervous but Rebecca kindness put my mind at ease. She was extremely accommodating with the drop off and pick up times which made things a lot easier. Our dogs had a WONDERFUL time. We have a small dachshund and Rebecca had a set of pet stairs out so she could get up and down easily. She sent pictures and videos every day. Our dogs had so much fun it was like they were on vacation instead of locked in a kennel at a boarding facility. I would absolutely use Rebecca again to watch our pups. She is without question a huge animal lover and treated our babies like her own.”

About: I’ve had a dog since I was 10, and over the years, I've grown as a dog owner, continuously learning new skills and understanding the importance of training. I have a strong foundation in dog training, covering everything from basic commands like sit, stay, and come, to fun tricks like high five, spin, and kiss! I also firmly believe that dogs are family and should be treated with the same love and care. I'm a morning person, so I start the day with a quick walk for the dogs. I have a flexible full-time job, allowing me to check on them during lunch for a bathroom break, snack, and maybe another walk. After work, I spend the first hour decompressing and giving the dogs my full attention before continuing with my evening routine. I have a fenced front yard where the doggies can sunbathe and conduct quick bathroom breaks. I also have two friendly dogs, an Italian Greyhound Chihuahua and a Blue Heeler. To get comfortable with their guest my dogs insist on a friendly walk around a neighborhood. Once my dogs are comfortable with their guest, they will quickly become friends. My Chihuahua mix takes a little more effort to impress but he’s content to just watch his sister and their friend play.
About: I have taken care of pets of all types and sizes. Growing up I raised and cared for many different rodent species, such as: rabbits, chinchillas, and gerbils. I also have owned dogs that are aged from puppies to seniors and are every size from very small (15 lbs) to very large (50+ lbs). I am currently unemployed so I am available to help with pet care at all times during the week and on the weekends. I understand the importance of making time for the care of pets, no matter how little time you have. I think an important part of taking care of a pet in my home or another owner’s, is to make sure that a pet has a safe space where they feel comfortable and to respect that space. I also think that it’s important to follow whatever instructions an owner leaves for taking care of their pets, whether they are instructions I believe to be right or not.

“Kevin took care of our dogs while we were out of town. We were so thankful that he was able to watch our puppy as well as our older dog. He did a great job at communicating with us everyday by sending us pics and videos of our dogs. We will definitely will be booking again with him in the future.”

“Rachel was great. I was nervous to leave my new kitten as she was still very young, Rachel was knowledgeable and I felt safe leaving Bianca with her. She was very attentive to messages. Gave me updates and pictures everyday. Would definitely use her again if the need arose.”

“Celine always takes the best care of Ellie! We have complete peace of mind knowing Ellie is in such good hands. It’s clear how much Celine loves and cares for the dogs she watches, and Ellie is always happy and excited to be there. We truly appreciate the attention, kindness, and excellent care she provides.”

“Sophie is so nice, gentle, accommodating, & a wonderful pup care-giver. Plus she sent an update and cute photos every day. We couldn't ask for anything more & will definitely use her again if she is available.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Albuquerque
Aijah is such an amazing pet sitter! I took an international trip for the first time since I got my dog and I ended up stuck a day longer than I was planning. She sent me pictures and was really flexible about pickup. When I picked my puppy up I could tell she had an amazing time and after such a chaotic trip, it was so nice to know that she was taken care of

Patrice was great with our baby. This was only our 2nd time leaving our pup and so we were still a little nervous, but Patrice handled everything so well. Our dog has some specific needs and requirements that can make watching her tricky, but Patrice did what she needed to! She sent many pictures and communicated with us throughout the day and responded right away to our many (probably overboard) of messages 😅. Thank you, Patrice! Will definitely be booking with her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
