“Patricia is lovely. My dogs were well taken care of, and enjoyed being able to play with Patricia's little dog, Sophie, and another (small dog) client of Patricia's. I received pictures each morning of my travels, and Patricia communicated with me. Her home and yard are well kept, and provide a comfortable and safe environment for the pets. Having Patricia as my dogs' sitter took so much stress and anxiety of my shoulders while traveling. I definitely plan to use Patricia's sitter services when i travel in the future!”

“Courtnay will give you peace of mind when you leave your precious doggo with her. She provided daily updates/pics of my boy, and I loved how he had friends while he stayed by her so he got a little bit of socialization with the other dogs (they had a time). Due to circumstances beyond my control, I missed a connecting flight and came in later than expected. She kept my boy for a few extra hours and really helped me out. Will definitely be booking again in the near future!”

“Celine was wonderful with our dog. She kept us updated on her stay as well as pictures every day. She’s really great with older dogs and let us know that our dogs interesting quarks follow her to her sitters. We rate Celine as a five star because of her flexibility as well as willingness to work with our dogs schedule. We will be rebooking with Celine for future stays!”

“Mark was the perfect sitter for my small dog. He sent me regular updates/photos/and videos--which really helped with my own separation anxiety from my pup. I will use Mark again and highly recommend him. Thanks, Mark!”

About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.

“Kristle and her family were so amazing to our little puppy!! Thank you so much!!! Awesome and we know Bentley will be comfortable and excited to come back and stay with you!!”

“Leslie & James are great pet sitters and take good care of my dog Zulu when I have to travel. They are very attentive and give me updates with photos and videos on a daily basis. I highly recommend them!”

“Savannah was great with my Charli. Daily photos were sent to update me. My pooch is still a puppy and Savannah was patient, understanding and even taught Charli how to go up stairs. ?”

“Liz was so great caring for our dog for 4 days! She was responsive, sent me lots of pictures and details about his day and genuinely seemed to care and love him. I will definitely use her again if we need a pet sitter”

“Thanks so much for taking such great care of Woody. Wishing you a happy New Year and all the best as you finish up school—he’ll definitely miss you and Gullu!”

“Tracy and her family were AMAZING with our dog Chip. He is a recent rescue with anxiety so when looking for a sitter, I wanted a family that he could integrate with. At Tracy's, he felt right at home and immediately bonded with their daughter. When I picked Chip up after a very long stay, he was happy and healthy. Tracy provided regular photos/updates and answered any questions that I had. I would absolutely book with Tracy and her family again. Thank you!!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our puppy. They provided excellent care, kept us updated, and made sure our puppy felt safe, comfortable, and loved while we were away. It was clear that they genuinely cared and treated our puppy like one of their own. We came home to a happy, healthy pup and would absolutely trust them again in the future. Highly recommended!”

“Sophie is so nice, gentle, accommodating, & a wonderful pup care-giver. Plus she sent an update and cute photos every day. We couldn't ask for anything more & will definitely use her again if she is available.”

“Shell was wonderful with Koda. It was the first time we left him and he's only 5 months old. Shell showed him lots of love when we went for the meet and greet and he took to her right away and was very comfortable. He loved playing with the other pups at her house and every time we asked about him Shell was quick to respond and even sent a picture to ease my daughter's mind. We plan to have Shell watch Koda again.”
“Zorro had an amazing time staying with Bill! His puppy Lola kept Zorro entertained, and Bill is a wonderful photographer able to capture the two pups playing! Bill is an absolute treasure to the community.”

About: I have taken care of pets of all types and sizes. Growing up I raised and cared for many different rodent species, such as: rabbits, chinchillas, and gerbils. I also have owned dogs that are aged from puppies to seniors and are every size from very small (15 lbs) to very large (50+ lbs). I am currently unemployed so I am available to help with pet care at all times during the week and on the weekends. I understand the importance of making time for the care of pets, no matter how little time you have. I think an important part of taking care of a pet in my home or another owner’s, is to make sure that a pet has a safe space where they feel comfortable and to respect that space. I also think that it’s important to follow whatever instructions an owner leaves for taking care of their pets, whether they are instructions I believe to be right or not.
“My puppies were safe and happy with Brandi. She sent me pics every day, and provided excellent communication throughout their stay. I won’t hesitate to book with her again!”

Aijah is such an amazing pet sitter! I took an international trip for the first time since I got my dog and I ended up stuck a day longer than I was planning. She sent me pictures and was really flexible about pickup. When I picked my puppy up I could tell she had an amazing time and after such a chaotic trip, it was so nice to know that she was taken care of

Patrice was great with our baby. This was only our 2nd time leaving our pup and so we were still a little nervous, but Patrice handled everything so well. Our dog has some specific needs and requirements that can make watching her tricky, but Patrice did what she needed to! She sent many pictures and communicated with us throughout the day and responded right away to our many (probably overboard) of messages 😅. Thank you, Patrice! Will definitely be booking with her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
