“Esmeralda and her family took very good care of our Spider. She sent us some photos and updates to stay connected which we really appreciate. She was also available with short notice and we would definitely let Spider stay with her again. When we arrived for pickup, Spider was relaxing in his bed in the living room, very calm and obviously very comfortable at Esmeralda's house. :) Excellent care”

“I am so glad Thomas and Matthew stayed with Foo. They sent a message and pictures every day. He became part of their family. They gave him so much attention. They are my first choice in sitters. Thank you both so much.”

“We're so grateful we found Bill, he and his wife are great people and you can tell they really care. Our pup is usually pitiful while we're away but he had a great time boarding with Bill. Highly recommend!”

About: I was born and raised with all kinds of dogs and love them all. I will love and care for yours like my own. I have one Jack Russell terrier named Jasmine. She loves all dogs. I’ve had older and younger dogs that have special diets and needed medication given and am comfortable with that if your dog needs it. They are free to roam night and day or you are free to bring a crate for them. I work at home so I will be at home all day each day. Growing up I cared for neighbors dogs and family dogs. We take walks each day if that’s something you’re comfortable with me doing. I’m currently working from home so I have plenty of time to love and care for yours pet. Doggie door that they can go in and out and I always go outside with them. I have a fenced yard and a small dog that yours can run and play with.Mine would love a play mate and someone to get the the zoomies with.
“Rachael was very accommodating in caring for our 1.5 yr larger puppy and was great in keeping us updated and sending pictures. We felt assured leaving our furry friend with her and rebook without hesitation.”

About: I've cared for my friends' pets for over 10 years, both in my own home and doing home visits. I currently have two dogs, one of whom is a special needs chihuahua. I'm comfortable with administering medication, various special needs, and senior dogs. I work from home and have very flexible hours. Whether you decide to board your pet or have me do home visits, I look forward to caring for your pet as you would. I have a fenced in yard that's completely secure. Because I work from home, I'm with my own dogs most of the day. If you decide to board your pet with us they will get more than plenty of social time as well as time with me.
“Isabella is amazing, she's watched our pups a couple times and we will use her in the future. She has great communication and always sends daily updates and pictures. The pups love her!”

“Our dog Willow was in great hands with Doug while we took an out of state trip. Doug is a terrific communicator and very responsive. He sent photos of walks with Willow, and seemed to truly enjoy our pup. Doug was super flexible about drop off and pick up times, which we greatly appreciated!”

“Patricia does a great job caring for my two small dogs. One of my dogs recently had a tummy issue, and was still weaning back to kibble from a chicken & rice diet when they went to Patricia's. Patricia was willing to follow the schedule I provided, and mix my dog's kibble with chicken and rice to finish weaning her back to pure kibble. My dogs get along with Patricia's small dog, Sophie, and enjoy their surroundings during their stay (Patricia has a beautiful patio and spends time with them outside). They always come back happy and healthy. Patricia is a great sitter!”

“Joshua is great. He's a natural with dogs, and it's obvious he loves them! I HIGHLY recommend Joshua and his home for extended boarding. He has a very large yard for play, and the dogs love it! I travel a lot, and I will be using Joshua every time. My puppy, Mocha, made a new friend with Joshua's dog, Blitzen. Immediately, they became friends and were inseparable for seven days. Thank you, Joshua!!! My wife and I are very grateful for the care you gave Mocha!!!”

“Gavin was absolutely wonderful with Lucky! He kept us updated throughout the day with pictures, and it was clear Lucky felt completely at home with him. When we picked Lucky up, we could see how happy and comfortable he had been. Gavin isn’t just a great dog sitter—he’s also such a kind and caring person. We’re so grateful for the love and attention he gave Lucky while we were out of town, and we’ll definitely be booking with him again in the future.”

“Misty, our German Shepherd had a great time running around at Jessie’s for 5 days. Jessie did a great job of keeping us informed with daily updates and pictures of the dogs having fun. Thank you again!”

“My biggest grudge is when someone expresses when they only gave one star " cuz they couldn't give any less"... When do we support local business and recognize our community for the good that surrounds us? !!! Recognize beauty people!!!!! This man is the real thing; a dog whisperer through and through. Incredibly kind, greeting my pup with a treat at first meet. Communication is HUGE for me. Pics were shared - almost immediately - and direct messages were alleviating. We all want to know our loved ones are in the best care. Michael is communicative, engaging with the guests, and truly, one of a kind. I'd book him immediately, if he doesn't forget my little girl...”

“Mary was excellent, she treated Nico like he was her own I was sent pictures of him watching soccer with her on the couch and relaxing on the outside furniture. He was right at home I will be taking him back to her my next vacation thank you Mary for taking such great care of my Nico”

“Leigh did a great job! My pup Rocky and I were new to Santa Fe and I needed to take a 6 day trip out of town. After reviewing several pet sitters on Rover.com I reached out to several. Leigh had great reviews and repeat customers. She was willing to have my pup in her home, along with her dog and cat. Everything went very well. She provided regular updates, photos, and even dog park video. I was pleased how well my dog did during his stay. It was obvious Leigh loves animals and makes them feel comfortable while in her care. Highly recommend Leigh as a pet sitter and will use her in the future.”

“Anne is super nice and very helpful. I haven't met any dog care and boarding family who is so friendly, easygoing and sweet. I always worry about my dog during the boarding. But I felt very relaxed this time. She took care of our little boy very well. And he had the good time at Anne's place, which is a big house with the running through yard. And also gave us the good dinner idea in ABQ that is very helpful. We are sure we'll come back again when we visit ABQ.”

“My dog and I met Cindy and her dog before we boarded with her for the first time. It was apparent right away that she was capable of providing a good, caring home environment for my dog. I felt very comfortabke knowing he would be in the best place away from home. My 12 year old dog takes daily meds that were adminustered properly. He ate his meals, was abke to go into the yard and enjoyed her glass front door to look out. I highly recommend Cindy as a dog sitter and have booked our next visit She is the type of person you can feel confident leaving your beloved pets with.”

Brandi took great care of Mika while I was away. Communication was clear and consistent, and I especially loved receiving picture updates they were my favorite part and gave me peace of mind knowing Mika was happy and well cared for. I would definitely recommend Brandi to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!

Shell, her niece, and nephew were very accommodating to our specific needs. Our dogs immediately felt calm and at ease in their presence. When I would text to ask how the dogs were doing, pictures and an update were sent right away. Our 4 dogs are used to being the only dogs at the pet sitter's house, and we had not realized there would be many more dogs staying at the same time. However, Shell's niece and nephew went above and beyond with our dogs to reach our comfort level, and for that, we were truly grateful. We feel our dogs were very well taken care of.

My doggy passed on last week, and I am still very heartbroken, but I wanted to leave a review for Billy. I travel extensively for work, and over the past 3 years or more I have trusted Billy to take care of Finn. Finn was a rescue pup 13 years ago and had a tough puppyhood and was very afraid of people. He warmed up to Billy pretty quickly, and I sometimes would have to leave him with Billy for 3 weeks to sometimes over a month as I work overseas. I would get regularly updated reports and pictures, and I always felt that Finn was in good safe hands. I highly recommend Billy, he is a serious, trustworthy and reliable person to leave your pet with!

Tatiana did an absolutely amazing job of taking care of our little guy. Caring for a deaf dog is not always easy but she did a wonderful job! She sent great updates and was so easy to communicate and work with! Thank you again for taking such great care of our Lenny boy!

Lucy was immediately comfortable with Pat. Dogs know who loves them. All our communications were clear and quick. There was flexibility in the pickup and drop off times. We felt Lucy was well cared for and didn’t worry about her at all, knowing that she felt good in a good place.

I can’t recommend Rachael G. highly enough! From the moment we met, I knew my pets were in the best hands. She went above and beyond to make sure my three high energy dogs felt safe, loved, and comfortable while I was away. I received daily updates, adorable photos, and thoughtful check-ins that gave me total peace of mind. When I returned home, my pets were calm, happy, and clearly well cared for—like they had been on vacation! The attention to detail, genuine love for animals, and professional reliability truly set Rachael apart. If you’re looking for a pet sitter who treats your furry family like their own, look no further. 🐾 I’m so grateful to have found Rachael and I’ll never use anyone else!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
