“Michael watched our fur baby for 13 days. She is approx. 14 yrs old, and we were worried about leaving her for such a long period of time. Michael's calm and easy demeanor was reassurance that she would be fine. She does not get along with other animals and as the only pet Michael watched he was able to provide her with individual attention. He sent photos daily, which we greatly appreciated. We will definitely use his services again. Michael, thank you for taking such good care of our family member!”

“Onrae did such an amazing dog watching my dog while I was gone for two weeks. The ask was rather sudden and he made me feel at ease. My dog recently had surgery and he took great of him. He constantly sent photos and updates. I feel really great knowing that I (and my dog :)) can trust his services. Could not recommend enough. Thank you!!”

“Great communication with text and pictures daily she took extra special care of our pup! She made him feel loved! Would definitely book again and recommend to others!”

“Brandi was nice!! Also very flexible for my situation that happened when meeting, which I was Grateful for.. She replied to my messages, and gave me an update on how My dog was settling in .. it was a very good experience..”

“Wendy was great. She sent me pics of him, gave me updates of the situation, and asked if there was anything else she could do to keep Almond comfortable. Wendy let me know immediately that Almond started howling in the middle of the night. I wasn't sure what was going on since he never did that at home. My initial thought was he was missing me and home. And because of his age, I believe he got disoriented and lost and couldn't identify where he was at. Wendy did follow the instructions I left and asked if there was anything more she could do. I appreciate Wendy giving Almond the extra care he needed. Thanks again..”

“Pepper had a great time with Laura's family and their pup crew! She was so well cared for, got to take hikes and got all kinds of fun doggy play time. I loved all of the pictures and videos to ease my mind while I was away. I'm grateful to have found a sitter in the area we can count on :)”

“Brian and Jerry were great, 1st time I left Benni and Yoshi with anyone. I appreciated the meet and greet allowed me to view his home and meet his dogs. My dogs felt so immediately comfortable around them. Great communication!”

“Marlena was such a fantastic sitter for our Pup. She has a loving home and family and welcomed our dog bob in right away. We got lots of wonderful photos and updates and our dog was hardly interested in coming home when we picked her up.”

“Great people to take care of your dog. She sent me pictures on a daily basis so I could see that Ivy was enjoying herself. I intend to use her in the future. Thank you Victoria”

“Lifesavers! Had a last minute boarding need for my pup and they were available! My boy had a good time playing with the other dogs there and I can tell he was in good hands! Thank you both so much!!”

“Lauren was great! As someone with hyper dogs, I super happy that Lauren was able to take them to the dog park and on walks to get their zoomies out. I could tell my pups felt right at home with her. 10/10”

“My fur baby absolutely loved her time with Hannah! She cared for her as I would. I would 100% recommend Hannah and her pet sitting services! Thank you Hannah was taking such phenomenal care of my baby!”

“Brittany is a wonderful sitter. I trust her completely with my Danes. She knows dogs, noticed and treated an ear infection in my oldest Dane, and was able to accommodate me last minute. When I arrived later than planned Brittany ‘was very understanding and gracious. Thanks Brittany. The pups thank you too”

“The best sitters! They are wonderful caregivers and provide awesome photos and reassurance for the families. Our canine family member will stay with them as much as circumstances permit.”

“Ashleigh and her family were great with my two dogs. It had been awhile since I boarded them and she made them feel right at home and sent pictures of them and sent updates frequently during their stay and made me feel at ease while they were in her care. My return trip was delayed and she was accommodating and flexible with the pickup time. I’ll definitely rebook with Ashleigh for future trips!”

“First time leaving fur babies for a whole week. Rebecca took excellent care of them! She sent pictures and they looked like they were having such a great time! I will definitely consider leaving my babies with her again!”

“Very friendly and great communicator. I loved the photos he sent! My anxious pup warmed up to him immediately and had a comfortable time. Definitely would recommend!”

“Peter is the most caring and thoughtful dog-sitter I've ever met and I am so grateful I found him to take care of my GSP for the several weeks I was away. Peter is very insightful and understood my dog Inka perfectly. Inka warmed up to Peter immediately and the added bonus were the friendships Inka made with Peter's two dogs Mia and Bruno. I was anxiety free the whole time I was away because I knew Inka was in excellent hands. Peter also sent me gorgeous photos of my baby almost every day. I could not recommend a better person for your dog while you are away. Thanks Peter!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sandia Park
Another EXCELLENT visit with Julia for our Charlie!! We are are grateful for how easily he has settled in at Julia's due to her great work with him. It is a big treat for him to spend time with her and he knows the way to her place- he gets so excited on our way there. And he loves her dogs, comfortable home, and her beautiful setting. We are impressed by her warm and thoughtful and calm and insightful approach to Charlie (older dog with lots of affection needs). Charlie and Julia have formed a wonderful bond. And her frequent communication gives us many smiles and joy while we are away.

We are delighted with Julia's attentive kindness and skillful care of our Charlie, an older big dog who can run pretty anxious in a new environment. Not that you would know it from her great work with him. We greatly appreciated her frequently staying in touch with us with photos and updates which are descriptive enough that we can really visualize how things are going for him. It's clear that he feels happy to be with Julia and her dogs, and he's comfortable even on this very first visit with her! Looking forward to him staying with Julia, Montana, and Drummer again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
