“Ashleigh and her family were great with my two dogs. It had been awhile since I boarded them and she made them feel right at home and sent pictures of them and sent updates frequently during their stay and made me feel at ease while they were in her care. My return trip was delayed and she was accommodating and flexible with the pickup time. I’ll definitely rebook with Ashleigh for future trips!”

“We are very grateful to Brian and Jerri for taking care of Farley over the weekend. This was the second time he stayed with them, returning happy and full of energy. Their care of Farley gives us peace of mind while we are away. Thank you!”

“Melissa and her fur babies made my Luna feel so comfortable and loved. Great communication and service! Luna gives 5 stars for the all the fun she had. Would def use this Rover sitter again!”

“Esmeralda and her family took very good care of our Spider. She sent us some photos and updates to stay connected which we really appreciate. She was also available with short notice and we would definitely let Spider stay with her again. When we arrived for pickup, Spider was relaxing in his bed in the living room, very calm and obviously very comfortable at Esmeralda's house. :) Excellent care”

“Shell is amazing! We went an 8 day vacation to FL and left Maverick with her and she sent us photos every day of how he was doing, along with a video. The smile on his face in each photo and his wagging tail in the video confirmed that we made the right choice! We’ll definitely be bringing Maverick back to Shell! We are also so appreciative of her family as they take such great care of Maverick, also. We’re so glad that we found Shell!”

“Savannah did an excellent job with Quantum. She spoiled him with treats and walks and we got daily photos and updates. It was great being able to know he was happy and safe while we were away.”

“Courtney did great with Rocko and was very accommodating on such short notice. Received many updates and photos for his short stay with her. Her Indy is adorable and made a great playmate for Rocko. Would definitely reach out to Courtney again for future stays.”

“Hossanna was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Azula. From the start, she was so accommodating and kind, and she even met with us for two walks before Azula’s stay, which made a huge difference in helping us feel comfortable. I have very detailed (and sometimes neurotic) instructions when it comes to my dog, and Hossanna never once made me feel bad about that. She was patient, understanding, and clearly cared about doing things right for Azula. She sent us many thoughtful photos throughout the stay, and it was obvious Azula was comfortable, happy, and safe in her care. If she would have us again, I would absolutely book with her, and I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter they can truly trust.”

“Mary was excellent, she treated Nico like he was her own I was sent pictures of him watching soccer with her on the couch and relaxing on the outside furniture. He was right at home I will be taking him back to her my next vacation thank you Mary for taking such great care of my Nico”

“Brittany is a wonderful sitter. I trust her completely with my Danes. She knows dogs, noticed and treated an ear infection in my oldest Dane, and was able to accommodate me last minute. When I arrived later than planned Brittany ‘was very understanding and gracious. Thanks Brittany. The pups thank you too”

“Pat is amazing with animals! She genuinely cars about your pet💓 pat watched my mocha and mocha came back happy and well take care of! Pat is reliable and gets back to you quickly with any questions or concerns! Go on the trip, your baby will be just fine with Pat!”

“Patricia always does a great job taking care of my doggies. One of my dogs in particular is pretty emotionally sensitive, but seems to have a good time at Patricia's and always appears relaxed and happy in the pictures and videos Patricia sends. Patricia has also been able and willing to administer medicine and feed according to specific instructions. She was very flexible with us picking up the dogs later than anticipated after flight delays. Very happy we've found such a great sitter for our beloved dogs. She makes this part of traveling so much easier on me!”

“Wendy was great. She sent me pics of him, gave me updates of the situation, and asked if there was anything else she could do to keep Almond comfortable. Wendy let me know immediately that Almond started howling in the middle of the night. I wasn't sure what was going on since he never did that at home. My initial thought was he was missing me and home. And because of his age, I believe he got disoriented and lost and couldn't identify where he was at. Wendy did follow the instructions I left and asked if there was anything more she could do. I appreciate Wendy giving Almond the extra care he needed. Thanks again..”
“Doug kept up with sharing pics and texts with me during my pups stay. The updates kept me from all worries I might of had. Doug seemed to figure out our dog’s play style, and shared with us new tricks Akira and him were doing. It sounded like they really had a fun time. Plus our dog got to meet new friends, go on lots of walks, and had a good amount of attention and treats.”

“Highly recommend Rebecca to anyone looking for boarding for their fur baby/babies. She’s definitely a dog whisper and has love for all dogs. She ensures all dogs get along and takes the time to learn and understand your dog’s needs. She provided updates along with videos and pictures throughout our boarding process. Will definitely be using her again for our future boarding needs! Thanks again Rebecca for providing a fun stay for our Lovie!”

About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.
“Thank you so so much for taking care of Leo and doing an excellent job! Thanks for being so kind to us during our chaotic cross country move and flexible on the pick up and drop off times. We knew Leo was well taken care of!! Will definitely remember you when we need a doggy sitter again!”

About: I've been providing trusted house sitting and pet sitting services for family members for over five years. During that time, I've cared for dogs of different ages and personalities, making sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and a safe, comfortable environment while their owners are away. I also spent about a year regularly caring for and walking my sister's dog, helping with daily walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I understand how important it is to know your pets are in good hands, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I am available for pet care on Friday evenings, as well as throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays. I can provide services such as dog walking, drop-ins, and pet sitting during these times. I am flexible on weekends and can accommodate morning, afternoon, or evening visits depending on your pet’s needs and advance notice. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and reliable environment for every pet in my care. I have experience caring for dogs through both family and personal pet sitting, including walking and daily care routines. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior, comfort level, and specific instructions provided by the owner. I make sure pets are always supervised during care, kept in secure environments, and treated with patience and consistency. I also respect each owner’s home and follow all guidelines closely to maintain trust and reliability. My goal is to ensure pets feel comfortable, cared for, and stress-free while their owners are away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sandia Park
Caitlin was great. She sent photos over the weekend and provide updates! Sully came back happy and healthy. She was very accommodating with my changing schedule and asked a lot of questions about my dog before hand! They have a nice fenced in backyard and we’re able to have a meet and greet which made the experience all the more comfortable! I would definitely recommend using Caitlin.

Another EXCELLENT visit with Julia for our Charlie!! We are are grateful for how easily he has settled in at Julia's due to her great work with him. It is a big treat for him to spend time with her and he knows the way to her place- he gets so excited on our way there. And he loves her dogs, comfortable home, and her beautiful setting. We are impressed by her warm and thoughtful and calm and insightful approach to Charlie (older dog with lots of affection needs). Charlie and Julia have formed a wonderful bond. And her frequent communication gives us many smiles and joy while we are away.

We are delighted with Julia's attentive kindness and skillful care of our Charlie, an older big dog who can run pretty anxious in a new environment. Not that you would know it from her great work with him. We greatly appreciated her frequently staying in touch with us with photos and updates which are descriptive enough that we can really visualize how things are going for him. It's clear that he feels happy to be with Julia and her dogs, and he's comfortable even on this very first visit with her! Looking forward to him staying with Julia, Montana, and Drummer again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
