“Brandi and family were amazing! We left our 5 month old puppy with them for the first time, and for 10 days! He came home more well behaved than we left him, and happy and healthy, of course. I can't believe it! When we left, he was biting (playfully, but still) and we come home, and he's just giving kisses and coming when we call him! I think we found the miracle dog sitter!”

“My two dogs have generally boarded separately but did great with their set up. They each seemed to enjoy their time and made good friends. Really appreciated the flexibility and easy communication.”

“Courtnay took great care of Tina over the weekend while I was in a conference. I loved getting all the pics and communications about how she was day to day. I Highly recommend Courtnay!”

“Wendy was great. She sent me pics of him, gave me updates of the situation, and asked if there was anything else she could do to keep Almond comfortable. Wendy let me know immediately that Almond started howling in the middle of the night. I wasn't sure what was going on since he never did that at home. My initial thought was he was missing me and home. And because of his age, I believe he got disoriented and lost and couldn't identify where he was at. Wendy did follow the instructions I left and asked if there was anything more she could do. I appreciate Wendy giving Almond the extra care he needed. Thanks again..”
“Patricia does a great job caring for my two small dogs. One of my dogs recently had a tummy issue, and was still weaning back to kibble from a chicken & rice diet when they went to Patricia's. Patricia was willing to follow the schedule I provided, and mix my dog's kibble with chicken and rice to finish weaning her back to pure kibble. My dogs get along with Patricia's small dog, Sophie, and enjoy their surroundings during their stay (Patricia has a beautiful patio and spends time with them outside). They always come back happy and healthy. Patricia is a great sitter!”

“Pat was amazing and she worked around my schedule. I couldn't be more thankful! I liked that fact that she asked me a ton of questions to help her get to know my dog. She is extremely knowledgeable! He looked like he had a blast and immediately fell asleep when we got home. I'll definitely be returning!”

About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.
“Shell was amazing with our Hennessy she had her for 7 nights and Hennessy had a blast, she’ll is amazing at what’s she does and shes the best with dogs I will be going back to her again!”

“Ashleigh and her family were great with my two dogs. It had been awhile since I boarded them and she made them feel right at home and sent pictures of them and sent updates frequently during their stay and made me feel at ease while they were in her care. My return trip was delayed and she was accommodating and flexible with the pickup time. I’ll definitely rebook with Ashleigh for future trips!”

“We couldn't have asked for a better experience with Mary and her wonderful family. From the moment I met them, I knew Tula was in kind, capable hands. Mary has a loving home filled with children, cats, and dogs, and Tula settled in as if she had always belonged there. It was clear she was treated as part of the family, receiving plenty of attention, affection, and excellent care. Knowing Tula was happy, safe, and well-loved gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We are so grateful to Mary and her family for welcoming her into their home, and we would not hesitate to trust them with Tula again. We highly recommend Mary to anyone looking for exceptional, loving care for their pet.”

“Savannah did an excellent job with Quantum. She spoiled him with treats and walks and we got daily photos and updates. It was great being able to know he was happy and safe while we were away.”

“Akira had a great time with Doug! It was very comforting knowing we didn’t need to worry about her while we were away. He was very flexible with our schedule and sent us a picture every day.”

“From my first phone call with Rebecca, I knew our 6th month old golden retriever Magnolia was in competent, careful, caring hands. Magnolia had supervised play all day with a retriever essential wading pool nearby. She the had her own safe crate to sleep in, complete with nighttime frozen chew. Rebecca sent photos and videos and responded quickly to my questions. Highly recommended.”

“Caitlin and her family watched our goldadore for a week and he had so much fun that he almost didn’t want to come home! They made him part of the family, he loved playing with their dogs and snuggling up in the evenings. Thank you Caitlin!”

“Sofie was the best! From our first communications, to the met and greet, to the end of the stay, she was flexible and friendly. I had no reservations about leaving our dog with her. She sent pictures everyday with a little update that confirmed she knew our dogs habits. Would highly recommend her and will definitely use her again myself!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
