“Can't say enough about these guys. When our dogs hear Patrick pulling into the driveway for pickup, they grab their leashes and start jumping around and barking with excitement. I feel confident that when they leave the house that they are always well cared for. If I could leave 6 stars I would. I won't go anywhere else.”

“My dog Ariel had a very good stay at Mike’s. She is usually scared of men and prone to separation anxiety. She felt right at home with Mike! Communication with him was easy, his home is great to host and the neighborhood seems safe for dog walks. I would trust him with my precious companion again!”

“Emily is an extraordinary Dog Sitter whom I trust wholeheartedly. I use her almost every other month for four days or so and I am always very very satisfied. She has a gem!”

“Courtnay was amazing with my Callie. She is usually afraid of strangers and can be aggressive, but she immediately took to Courtnay. I was so impressed with her confidence and knowledge of dogs! Would 100% recommend.”

“Brandi was an amazing choice when boarding Ace who hadn’t had a lot of time outside of the house. Ace loved her dog Aries and her kids as well! The kids didn’t want Ace to leave and loved on him the whole time, which made me so happy. She also has a lot of experience and taught him a couple new tricks while I was gone. She went above and beyond to learn about Ace and even had him sleep in a bigger crate than the one I brought, to ensure he was happy. Her whole family is the sweetest and I can’t wait to book with her again!!!”

“Joshua was great with our dogs. He has a big backyard with lots of room for play and relaxation. He was good at keeping us informed on how our dogs were doing and even sent pics. Love that he took the time to make sure our dogs got a walk daily. Will definitely use him again!”

“Doug was so easy to work with and accommodating. My dogs had a lovely time with him. Even though one of my girls got sick with tummy troubles a couple of days before the stay, he agreed to still watch all 3. Stellar experience overall”

“Marissa has watched Hera 3 times now and it has always gone great, my dog always seems to have lots of fun with hers. Marrisa has been very accommodating with last minute plans of mine or changes to my schedule and I know my dog is happy and safe with her. I have no doubt I’ll be contacting her again the next time I go away without my dog.”

“Wren and her husband are fantastic! This was the first time I left Ottis with someone aside from family or friends and they were outstanding. Not only were they diligent with Ottis’s allergy medication but Ottis had a huge smile on his face in the pictures she sent. I will most definitely be booking with them for as long as I’m in Albuquerque!”

“We have tried several boarding services for our dog Pepe and he always comes back sad. Our last trip Brian and Jerri watched him and he seems so much happier. They are great with dogs and really have a good understanding on how to handle them. We will definitely be using them again.”

“Sophie is so nice, gentle, accommodating, & a wonderful pup care-giver. Plus she sent an update and cute photos every day. We couldn't ask for anything more & will definitely use her again if she is available.”

“Yixuan and her husband took amazing care of our dog, Monty. She sent daily pictures and great communication throughout. I could tell he got a lot of love and got to do cool activities like a hike. I would highly recommend!”

“Savannah was amazing! Extremely communicative radically from the Dan. Super thankful she was able to take care of Joey while on vacation! Would highly recommend and would absolutely go to again!”

“Lorenzo is the best. He is very kind and allows my pets to be themselves. I needed immediate help and he was ready the day of my emergency. He given us hope, I never knew this kind of care was available. My pets are together, and they've grown to know their surroundings there. I will be happy after our pets stay to recommend and use his services again. He is very understanding with pet visits and updates. If ever in need of a kind loving home for your pet, I would say he is very reliable and easygoing. Definately what we needed.”

“Holly and Robert are amazing! They took such good care of our two dogs while we were gone. Both dogs were happy and well taken care of. We got multiple pictures of them playing and getting cuddles. We will definitely be using them again!!!”

About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.
“This is the second time we leave Tessa with Wendy and it was also a great experience. Wendy is very communicative and sends lots of pics of Tessa enjoying with her and her kids. She also takes Tessa to dog parks and on walks so she can get her exercise. We recommend her :)”

“Rebecca is incredible! Followed up, made sure we had clear directions, and was so gracious even after I screwed up on my timing! She is a definite go-to and I will be requesting her again for sure!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
