“Apollo can be a handful with his anxiety and reactivity, and Bri handled it beautifully. They had a rocky first night, because he kept barking at every small noise. After several hours of this, he had her a bit worried about whether or not she could get him to settle down and sleep. But she stuck with it and got him to calm down and pass out. From there the visit went great. She followed our feeding and medication instructions exactly, worked on some training with him during his stay, and did a nice job with redirecting his attention when he got reactive on walks. Communication was excellent throughout. I received regular photos and updates, and she flagged any concerns as they came up rather than letting them sit. The best sign of how the weekend went: at pickup, Apollo planted himself on and between her feet multiple times while we were talking about how the weekend went. He clearly trusts and adores her, which can be difficult given his anxiety. We'll absolutely be booking with her again!”

Our cats are very skittish, and do not really like strangers, but Misty did everything she could to socialize with the cats and make them comfortable. By the end of the stay, I believe the cats were not as afraid, and started warming up to her, which is a big accomplishment! She sent pictures and updates daily, and assured us that things were going well. She kindly agreed to feed and water the wild birds and rabbits, and even sent pictures of them. About: I have grown up with animals all my life. I had 2 dogs and 2 cats growing up and I currently have a German Shepard, Weiner dog, and 2 flat faced cats. I also have experience taking care of fish and reptiles. I just moved to ABQ from Atlanta. I love animals and would love to continue taking care of them out here. About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.

About: A little about me: I’ve had a dog by my side every day since I was six years old — dogs are an integral part of my life, not just something I do on the side. Over the years I’ve cared for dogs of every size, age, and temperament, from tiny lap dogs to a 90-pound Labrador, and from bouncy puppies to dogs in their older years. Experience: My deepest experience is with senior and special-needs dogs. My Labrador had a series of health challenges, including three separate leg surgeries. I nursed him through every recovery, which meant walking him with a support sling until he was back on his feet. When he was later diagnosed with cancer, I cared for him through hospice at home — giving his daily medications and keeping him comfortable and loved right to the end. So if your older dog needs medication, a little mobility help, or just extra patience and gentleness, that’s something I genuinely know how to do. I’m just as comfortable with high-energy dogs. That same Labrador was a handful in his younger years, so I know what it takes to keep a strong, active dog happy and well-exercised. I also love puppies and understand the patience and consistency they need. I’m happy to walk more than one dog at a time, and I have experience with leash-reactive dogs — I know how to keep walks calm, controlled, and low-stress for a dog who needs a little extra management. Right now I share my home with two girls — a 15-year-old Chihuahua mix and a 2-year-old Cairn Terrier — so both ends of the age spectrum are part of my daily routine. Before them I’ve cared for several terriers and a Border Collie mix, among others. I walk my own dogs every single day and I’ll keep yours on a good routine too. My younger dog gets dedicated playtime with her toys, and my senior girl gets her medication right on schedule every other day. I keep that same consistency and attention for any dog in my care — sticking to your dog's normal feeding, walking, medication, and potty routine so their world stays steady while you're away. When I care for your dog in your home, safety comes first. I keep all doors and gates closed and latched, and I'm constantly aware of where your dog is — especially any time I'm heading in or out, so there's no chance of an escape. I follow whatever house rules and routines you set. I also treat your home with the same respect I give my own. When I dog-sat for family and friends, I kept their house tidy, watered their plants, and brought in mail while they were away. I will leave your home just as you left it, keep you updated with photos while you're gone, and communicate quickly about anything that comes up. About: I’ve been lucky enough to build relationships with returning Rover clients, and I’m always happy when people trust me to care for their pets again. I’ve never met a pet-care challenge I couldn’t find a solution to. Every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I’m patient and willing to figure out what works best for them. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, livestock, and critters of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including experience working at an animal hospital where I cared for boarding animals, newborn puppies and kittens, and pets who needed a little extra patience and attention. I also have plenty of personal experience with animals who have behavioral challenges, which has taught me to be observant, patient, and adaptable. Pet sitting is something I do on the side while I’m in school and working as a barista. My shifts are generally around six hours, and my classes are online, so I have a flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time to the animals in my care. About: After having three dogs for many years, I am an expert at walking more than one--with expandable leashes, it's like flying three kites at once! In addition to long (or short) walks, I also like snuggling with pups on the couch. I currently have one 20-pound pup who gets along with almost all other dogs and loves having guests. For boarding and daycare, a meet and greet is a must. I have a very flexible work schedule and I mostly work from my home. I love taking frequent walks and petting dogs throughout the workday. I do not have a yard but like taking walks at all times of day, so your pup can still get plenty of exercise. I am familiar with senior dog care and am comfortable giving pills, following special diets, etc.

“Apollo can be a handful with his anxiety and reactivity, and Bri handled it beautifully. They had a rocky first night, because he kept barking at every small noise. After several hours of this, he had her a bit worried about whether or not she could get him to settle down and sleep. But she stuck with it and got him to calm down and pass out. From there the visit went great. She followed our feeding and medication instructions exactly, worked on some training with him during his stay, and did a nice job with redirecting his attention when he got reactive on walks. Communication was excellent throughout. I received regular photos and updates, and she flagged any concerns as they came up rather than letting them sit. The best sign of how the weekend went: at pickup, Apollo planted himself on and between her feet multiple times while we were talking about how the weekend went. He clearly trusts and adores her, which can be difficult given his anxiety. We'll absolutely be booking with her again!”
