“I booked Brian to watch our dog Boosh on the strength of his reviews. We were planning a road trip to New Mexico and I knew we'd want a couple days to go places that don't allow dogs. Brian was amazing. He let me drop off and pick up as late or early as I needed. He kept me updated on her acclimating to the other dogs there and when she got back to us she slept like a brick because she was so tired from playing all day”

“I contacted Shell at the last minute to pick up and drop off my dog. She agreed quickly, understood exactly what I needed, and most importantly, took excellent care of my little one. She was perfect! I’m so grateful to her for helping me. I will be contacting Shell first the next time I need a pet sitter. Thanks, Shell! Your kindness was greatly appreciated!”

“Brian took care of our dogs for the day at his home. He sent pictures and updates. He was very kind, respectful, and knowledgeable about dogs. He was understanding and patient with one of our dogs that was timid. We will definitely use Brian’s doggy day care service next time we’re in ABQ!”

“Lauren and Devan were so great helping my nervous little dog get comfortable and feel at home on long days in a strange place. I felt she was safe around other dogs and was so glad that she got more playful and relaxed after being there for a short time”

“Remy had so much fun at doggy day care with Venise! She is so sweet and loving with the pups and has a nice spacious home & yard for them to play. We are so happy we found Venise and will definitely be booking with her again!!”

“Mike was an incredible sitter. My little guy, Walter, took to him because he was so friendly. He gave me updates throughout the day and made sure my dog was walked, fed, and well loved. Would recommend and work with Mike again!”

“Jamie was very friendly and communicated with me during the stay. She has young kids in the home for playtime with my small dog along with a friendly poodle of her own.”

“Cecilia and family were very kind and understanding of Buffalo’s insecurity being left behind. Her dogs were very kind with my dog and had no issues. She kept in contact with me and sent me pictures that reassured me that Buffalo was comfortable and safe.”

“I was visiting town and needed a last-minute dog daycare option, and she was fantastic. She was very responsive and took the time to meet me and my pup beforehand, which made me feel comfortable right away. My pup was tired from the day and all the activities, but she handled her with both care and confidence. She quickly became part of the pack, played with the other dogs, and came back happily exhausted. She also sent photos and text updates, which I really appreciated. I especially liked how attentive she was with my pup’s prescribed medication. It gave me real peace of mind knowing she was safe, cared for, and having a great time while I was away. Highly recommend!”

“Brandi is so nice and caring with her dogs and was the same with my dog, Buttercup. She helped make the introductions between Buttercup and her dogs go smoothly by slowly letting them meet each other. She sends pictures and updates throughout the day to keep you updated on the fun times your dog is having. Buttercup had a great time playing with Charlie and Jasmine. I was very reassured when I dropped Buttercup off and was very happy when I picked her up and saw how happy she was. Would definitely recommend Brandi to anyone looking for a safe, fun dog sitting experience.”

“Toast had the best day at daycare with Kathy and the crew! She took the time to make my slow to warm up pup feel right at home. I really appreciated the pupdates thought out the day and the fact she got to go out on a hike (a favorite activity of hers). Would definitely recommend and Toast can’t wait for her next adventure day!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats since I was a child. Over the years I’ve grown to know more and more about animals and it has helped me care for my own fur babies. I’ve had a few family friends and family members count on me to check in on their pets or sit them when they’re not able to be home and they’ve continued to count on me. I also have experience caring for exotic animals. Anyone who needs care for those pets can message me as well! ** Please feel free to ask me about my coupon code for $20 off your first booking on rover :) ** I’m working part time and go to school full time so I have plenty of time for your pets on weekends and in between my work schedule! I have a fenced yard and 2 pups to keep your pet company. I also have a guinea pig who stays in his own room! I have two extra bowls I can provide if needed and an extra large crate to fit dogs up to approximately 100 pounds
“Absolutely the best sitter I've ever had! My dog can be a handful, but Arysta handes him with grace and a smile. He always comes home exhausted from all the fun he has. The only sitter I'll ever use”

“My first time here on Rover and we had a great experience. Thank you so much! I’m so happy I found Leslie & James. The dogs were in great hands and I felt reassured they will be cared for from the get go.”

“Stella loves going to see Kimberly and her new doggie friends. She is so excited to go there and cannot wait to hang out and play with her buddies.”

“I absolutely love Barbara. I was skeptical at first because I had never left my pup with anyone but my family, but my dog absolutely loved her time there. And she loved Barbara. I highly recommend her to anyone! I’ll definitely be using her again soon!”

About: For more than 30 years, I have cared for my own as well as my children's pets and loved every minute of it. I am retired and I try not to take dogs from more than one family at a time. In addition, I do not currently have any pets of my own. This allows me to provide individualized and specialized care, love and attention to your pet, rather than sharing my time and attention with many pets. Your pet will be a part of the family, in a home away from home, rather than being in a small confined space while you are gone. This is one unique aspect of my pet care services that differs from many pet sitters, boarders and kennels. I own a good size ranch style home with a large fenced in yard for dogs to run and play. Before retiring, I worked as a licensed nurse for 43 years and raised two amazing successful children, during which we welcomed dogs, cats, birds, hamsters and fish into our home. I have cared for pets of friends, family, and love being a pet sitter. I am also licensed by the City of Rio Rancho to provide Dog Boarding and Pet Sitting services. I would love to care for your pets and provide them with love and companionship as if they were my own.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rio Rancho commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
