“Lauren did a great job communicating what was going on with my cat while I was away. I really appreciated her willingness to be flexible, like turning on the AC for him, when needed. She’s a kind person who’s great with animals, and I’d definitely recommend booking with her!”

“We were so happy to rebook Leah. She is so great with our pooches, and continues to train our high energy German Shepherd mix with great success. Again and again we highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve taken care of friends and neighbors animals all throughout college so I have lots of experience! I’m very nurturing and kind and I even have my own kitty that is very friendly. I have a flexible work schedule so I’m work from home most days. I love to go to the gym and go on walks. I am a home body so on the weekends I like to cook and prepare for the week. A typical day with your animal looks like playtime in the morning and a walk in the evening! If it’s a cat I make sure to play throughout the day and especially at night so they and I sleep well! If I am going to your home I will read and relax with them when I’m not playing with them and I will feed based on your schedule for your pet.
“Fiery was great all around, seemed to really care about our fluffy guy and communicated everything with us the entire time we were gone. Would highly recommend her to anyone in need of drop in visits as she gives you lots of details and really cares about the visits and schedule you set up.”

“Greg has done several drop ins including one at the very last minute. He is 100% reliable and I completely trust that he will be here when he says he will be here. The dogs appear comfortable and relaxed around him. Thank you Greg!”

“Eden was awesome! Got pictures every day of my fur babies. They seemed very happy around her. She took the time to play and walk my dogs. Reported each activity each day. I highly recommend her. We are very happy with her services.”

“Skyler did such a great job catsitting for our two kitties!! She was very communicative and sent pictures while we were gone. Skyler made sure she knew how to administer our cats medications before we left, and we felt confident in her with her past experience. I would definitely recommend Skyler to anyone needing a reliable pet sitter:)”

About: I've been caring for dogs since I was young and have a lifelong love for animals. I currently have one dog and two cats of my own, so I understand the importance of providing pets with attentive, loving care. I have also volunteered walking dogs for a local shelter, giving me experience with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I am comfortable feeding, walking, playing with, and caring for both dogs and cats. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, hiking adventures, playtime at the park, or simply relaxing at home, I'm happy to provide the care and companionship they need while you're away. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I am currently only focused on rover at the moment. I have open availability through out the week and open for any time of the day. I have a home with a backyard and some grass. One other dog that loves to play and gets along well with other dogs. Open to have them here.
About: I pet sat dogs when I was younger and cats for years. I have more time now and would love to give your babies a lot of attention. 🐶 😺 I currently work from home Sunday, Tues and Thursday, with a LOT of flexibility. I am available overnight 7 days per week with little notice and can adapt to your pets needs. I can care for pets in your home and follow your rules and your pets needs as directed. I'm an adult with a grown kiddo who also loves animals and can give extra attention! ❤️
“Jessica went above and beyond to make sure our cats were well taken care of as well as helping my wife with some tech issues! Super communicative and sent pictures, would absolutely recommend her and will be booking again in the future!”

“Alexus saved the day when she stepped in last minute when a sitter canceled on us. The dogs LOVED her and she was an amazing communicator. Highly recommend.”

About: I grew up in a household with pet dogs, mice, rats, hedgehogs, and frogs. I now am the proud owner of a rescue cat and have experience looking after everything from farm animals to ferrets. During my undergrad, I lived with a service dog trainer who had live-in dog students. I go out of my way to spend time with animals and love to help them be happy and healthy. Further, neighbors, friends, and family have relied on my to take care of their animals and house-sit for them since I was in high school. I am currently a PhD student at the University of New Mexico and work part time at the Maxwell Museum on Anthropology. I hold a busy, yet flexible, schedule and feel confident I can find time to walk, bike, or drive to take care of furry friends before and after work and throughout the day. Because my cat has a lot of anxiety around other animals, I do not offer in-home boarding. However, I am an active walker/jogger and would love to take out dog for a walk or run outside. For cats, I get real joy out of seeing them play or offering them head scratches. As my own pet has special requirements, I will diligently follow all your care instructions and treat your pet with the respect that I rest my own.
“Hannah went above and beyond taking care of my cat Fidel. She was constantly giving me updates ans she was super responsive when I had questions. I could see that she truly cared about my fur baby. She helped me with my packages and even took the trash out with my ask. I highly recommend her services.”

About: I’ve house sited for friends and neighbors pets. I love all animals since I was little and I know it gets hard when people are busy to care for pets and I would love to help I’m currently working full time but I’m off on weekends and can even fit time to visit after work hours if needed. I have a pretty flexible schedule so anything that works around your schedule as well I will always provide a safe environment for all animals. I will respect their environment and love and play with them. Make sure they feel safe as well
“Josephine was wonderful! She was kind, caring, compassionate, and quick to respond if any issues arose. She was professional and treated my cats like they were her own. I would absolutely use her services again in the future!”

“Marilee helped with a last minute drop in visit for my elderly pup and is fabulous! She is extraordinarily communicative and my girl was well cared for. Highly recommend!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Albuquerque
We hired Levi to watch our cats while gone for 3 weeks out of the country. He did multiple daily checks that involved several tasks, including litter management, feeding, playing, and also took care of our plants. He was easy to get ahold of and is great to work with. Will definitely be using him again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
