“Alexus saved the day when she stepped in last minute when a sitter canceled on us. The dogs LOVED her and she was an amazing communicator. Highly recommend.”

“This was the second time I was able to book with Tawnia, and she kept us so informed during our whole trip! She took several pictures and always left a detailed update, sometimes with a message to check in. She is very communicative and reliable. We would highly recommend her and we will plan to book with her again the next time we are out of town!”

“Angela is a delight. She spends a lot of time with each pet, doing things that make each one feel comfortable and seen. She even cozied up on the floor to make a newer member of the pet family feel like home. She also sends tons of pictures, which is great! I love seeing them being well taken care of. Definitely will ask to help again in the future.”

“Eden did an excellent job with our pets. We have 1 active terrier and 2 cats. She visited 3 times a day and gave our pets the attention they needed to not feel lonely. This was a surprise trip for us and she was able to accommodate us. She also made sure our shy cat was eating and well. Our dog will miss her! She gave us updates and was really responsive. I would definitely book her again, thanks Eden!”

“There’s no better compliment than a repeat customer. Josephine is phenomenal! She’s the most thorough, compassionate, and loving sitter my cats have ever had. When she walks through my door my cats run right up to her. It provides me a lot of comfort when I’m away knowing that Josephine is caring for my fur babies. I will absolutely be using her services in the future when she’s available.”

“Cristina was amazing at taking care of my void! She made sure to visit everyday as requested and was very communicative with me regarding my cat. My little scaredy-cat even felt comfortable with her from what I can tell in her pictures, still hiding but eating near her. My cat was also his normal self when I got home, a good sign that she treated him well! When I cam home I was also pleasantly surprised that the cat bowls she used were hand washed and left to dry, and that my trash was taken out, leaving less things for me to worry about when I cam home from my trip.”

“Marilee helped with a last minute drop in visit for my elderly pup and is fabulous! She is extraordinarily communicative and my girl was well cared for. Highly recommend!”

“My senior rescue dog loved Nicolle! She can be a little shy with new people, but she took to Nicolle right away. She followed all of my instructions and sent me detailed updates. I’ll be booking Nicolle again in the future!”
“Thank you so much Stacy! Stacy did such a fabulous job checking in on my pups and keeping me up to date. She was very patient with my shy pup and kept them company during a thunderstorm. Will definitely rehire Stacy for doggy care in the future! ?”

“I'm one of Brigit's very happy repeat clients. She is efficient, reliable, and very good at this. I am confident that my kitties are in good hands with her!”

“Katie was wonderful and so considerate! Everything worked out perfectly, and our two young cats were very happy when we got back from our trip. If you’re on the look-out for the perfect sitter, look no further.”

About: I’ve grown up around large breed dogs and feel comfortable working with them. I will gladly work with seniors/puppies and am capable of doing almost any medical/behavioral care required. I typically provide check-ins but am willing to discuss overnights if needed. I’m available Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday but with at least a week’s notice I can accommodate almost anything! I can also provide care for those living on Kirtland AFB. As a pet parent myself, I completely understand the anxiety of leaving your pet in the care of someone else. But your trust and your pet’s safety will always be my top priority.
“I was nervous about our dog meeting a sitter but Elliot immediately hit it off. They played frisbee until Wesley was completely worn out and Elliot had great energy the whole time. Will definitely recommend!”

Eden is wonderful! Before my trip she stopped by for a meet-up to get to know my cat, and asked very thoughtful and detailed questions about her care. While I was away I received daily updates and pictures which is the usual, but I could tell from the communications that she spent a lot of time playing with my cat, Xena, and even walked her outside on her leash and harness. My house was in great condition when I returned, and Xena was well taken care of. I would absolutely use Eden's services again.

As always Alexis has done a great job beyond our expectations. We had to add an additional day and she was flexible. Since recently moving from out of state we were worried about who would watch our pets and now we no longer need to worry knowing Alexis is a great caretaker.

Anika was absolutely wonderful watching my pets while I was away. She took such great care of my two older cats, Khaleesi and Dwight, and also kept up with my younger, very active dog Milo — which is no small task! She was attentive, reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about each of their individual personalities and needs. My older cats were comfortable and relaxed when I returned, and Milo was happy, exercised, and well cared for. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I would absolutely trust Anika again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter!

Excellent pet sitter. Took great care of my 2 cats over Christmas holiday. Sent me pictures everyday during play and treats. My cats are usually scared of people they don’t know but they came out quickly and were happy to see her. Will definitely be booking again with her for my next vacation.

This was my first time using Rover and Blake made me feel comfortable right away. Blake was very professional and you could tell that they loved animals and truly cared about their well being. I received daily updates and pictures of my cuties as well as overall reassurance that all was going well while I was gone. Thanks Blake! I’ll definitely rebook in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kirtland Air Force Base. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
