About: I’ve loved animals my whole life and have experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs. As a pet owner myself, I understand that every pet has unique needs and deserves patience, love, and attention. I’m reliable, responsible, and happy to provide feeding, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), potty breaks, and plenty of affection while you’re away. I know how important it is to keep owners updated, so I’ll send photos and messages to give you peace of mind. I’ll treat your pets like they’re part of my own family. As a college student with a flexible schedule, I’m able to provide dependable drop-in visits and dog walks throughout the week. I’ll work with you to find times that fit your pet’s routine and make sure they receive the attention, exercise, and care they need. Whether it’s a quick potty break, a long walk, or some extra playtime, I’m happy to help. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I’ll follow your pet’s routine and any instructions you provide, including feeding, fresh water, medications (if needed), and exercise preferences. During walks, I’ll use secure leashes and pay close attention to our surroundings to keep your pet safe. I’ll also treat your home with respect and send photo and text updates after every visit so you can feel confident knowing your pet is in good hands.

“Jana took such amazing care of Zobee for over two full weeks, alternating 30 minute and 60 minute visits each day. She was super communicative and caring, and even left our plants in better shape than they were when she started caring for them! Jana is great with all living creatures and I heartily recommend her for longer term pet care needs! Thank you Jana!”

“It was great to have Emily drop in and check on my dog Jake while I was out of town. Provided some piece of mind. Emily made sure Jake was comfortable and had what he needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to request Emily again.”

About: Hi, I’m Sierra – your pet’s new best friend! 🐾 Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I treat every pet I care for like one of my own. I have two sweet Pitbull-Lab mixes at home who’ve taught me so much about patience, loyalty, and unconditional love. I have hands-on experience with administering medication (oral and topical) and even diapering pets who need a little extra care. Whether your pet is young, senior, energetic, shy, or needs special attention, I’m confident in creating a safe, calm, and loving environment for them. I proudly service Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Lunas, Bernalillo, and parts of the East Mountain villages. I’m happy to work with your schedule, send regular updates and photos, and make sure your pet feels comfortable while you’re away. If you’re looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented, I’m your person. Let’s set up a meet and greet! Pet care is already a big part of my everyday life. I have two Pitbull-Lab mixes who keep me on my toes! Between walks, playtime, feedings, and cuddles, I’m used to building my day around pets and their needs. Taking care of other people’s pets just feels like a natural extension of what I already do. I’m flexible with my schedule and love being around animals, so whether it’s a quick check-in, a long walk, or overnight care, I’m happy to make it work! When I’m in a client’s home, I treat it with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. I stick to your pet’s usual routine with feeding, walks, meds, playtime, and all the cuddles they want! I’m also happy to bring in mail, water plants, and keep things tidy while you’re away. Whether it’s a quick visit or an overnight stay, I make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and right at home.
“Elizabeth was amazing with my in-law’s cats during a very difficult time for our family. My in-laws live 3 hours from family and we’re both in the hospital for a lengthy stay. Elizabeth’s compassion, professional and loving care of Mickey and Harley gave the family peace during a stressful time. We highly recommend Elizabeth for your pet family care.”

“Holly and Robert did a great job, arriving in the time frame requested, walked our dog along familiar neighborhood routes, sending text notes and pictures. We will use them again for sure!”

“Leaving our cats and dog with someone new made me nervous, but Luca completely exceeded my expectations. Luca came for a meet-and-greet beforehand and asked questions about our cats and dog's routine. Luca sent multiple photos daily, giving total peace of mind. I highly recommend and will absolutely booking again.”

About: Hi, I’m Sean. I am a lifelong pet owner who offers a level of care and expertise that goes far beyond standard pet sitting. I was quite literally raised around veterinary clinics, volunteering in them since I was a child. Because of this unique upbringing, I don't just love animals—I deeply understand their health, subtle body language, and unique behaviors. Whether your pet is a tiny senior cat needing a quiet lap or a massive, high-energy puppy who needs to burn off endless energy, I am completely comfortable with animals of any size, age, or energy level. I know how to keep energetic dogs safely engaged and how to provide gentle, patient companionship to senior or anxious pets. Your pet's safety and your peace of mind are my absolute top priorities. I will treat your furry family members with the exact same dedication, safety protocols, and love that I give to my own pets. As a stay-at-home parent, I'm typically available during school hours (7:30am to 2pm) with plenty of flexibility in the later afternoon and evenings as well. Inviting someone new into your home to care for your pet requires immense trust. Stories of poor pet care matches are stressful and concerning. This reality is exactly why I entered this field. I treat pet care as a professional business where absolute trustworthiness is the foundational cornerstone.
“Megan is wonderful with my puppy. She is very attuned to my standards and expectations, and has a healthy knowledge of dog handling herself. I am extremely grateful to have found her to help look after my puppy while I'm at work.”

“Mira came to my home earlier in the week and did a walk through meet and greet. She was very pleasant to meet. On the day of pet care she kept me posted and sent some comforting photos of the love they received. She is trustworthy and reliable and highly recommended to care for your fur family”

“Would recommend August to anyone looking for help with their pets. They are caring and professional and can work with those "tricky" pets. One of our dogs is more skittish when meeting new people and they were able to make him feel comfortable. They are also very communicative and provide lots of information so you know your pets are in good hands”

About: I have been surrounded by different types of pets throughout my life. I enjoy nourishing and playing with any pet. I have a pet myself who loves the park and staying fit. I am a recent graduate student who is currently preparing for the next phase of life. I am available to take good care of a fluffer friend during weekdays. I usually take my dog to the park twice a day. She loves playing frisbee and making new interactions with anyone. Her name is Mocha Bear and she values when mom follows her daily routine consistently.
“My cats were in good hands with Valerie! She kept the cats clean & healthy. She communicates clearly and promptly. Would 100% book with Valerie in the future.”

“I have been absolutely blown away by Svetlana’s compassion for my dog and cat. The very first day she was willing to wait for a locksmith after I accidentally locked her out of my house! My dog loved her the minute she walked in the door. She was on-time and sent very nice pics of my girls while I was away and really captured their personalities. I highly recommend Svetlana ?.”

About: From kittens and pups, to senior, 16+ year old cats and dogs, in diapers... I ALWAYS provide care with respect, appreciation for unique characteristics, and above all, love. Residential real estate management is my personal passion and career. This means that I have taken time to know how a house best functions. While I certainly won’t be “working on” your house. There’s no doubt that your home will be in good hands. After lovingly caring for my K9 lab-shepherd mix, Kali, for 17 years, I was pressed to say goodbye to her in 2020. Kali was my "child", and received the best care I could give from her age of 3-months to 17-years. Along with Kali, my animal experience had extended from domestic animals (e.g. dogs, cats, turtles) to frequently volunteering on a llama farm, to caring for my grandmother's chickens. Ultimately, I have had a fur-family member most of my years of life. I was even pre-med, for a time, with intent for veterinary school, before changing my career interests. I start my days as early as 5am, and end the day about 9pm. I work partime some days, however I always have open availability after 3 pm. Minimum of 3 days per week, I am available all day as I work from home. When I’m caring for your fur-family, my all-time priority is to ensure they know they’re loved, despite your absence. In the mornings, they will get a quality walk. As the day progresses, I will ensure they get exercise either by a good walk or dedicated playtime. Whether giving medication, fully caring for a senior, or simply giving quality time, I am confident that your precious baby will be well-cared for under my experienced attention. I respect animals as one would respect a human. I am learned in animal behavioral psychology (including human-animal mental health) and sociological standards, because I want to ensure an understanding that spreads kindness, peace, and love no matter the species. My life-partner, Stephen, is retired, and when accepted, may assist me in caring for your fur-family. Stephen is also on Rover, and I often partner with him in maintaining quality exercise time.

My second time working with Esperita! She continues to go above and beyond and looks for extra things to make sure my cats are comfortable. I had an emergency in my home and she accommodated me to make sure the cats were ok and give me priceless peace of mind. My cats seems to have warmed up to her and I LOVE the summary cards at the end. Thank you Esperita!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sandia Heights. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
