“Autumn has watched my dog and cat several times, and takes such good care of them. I know that my furry kids are in great hands with her. My dog Evan has severe separation anxiety, but Autumn gives him so much love that he is able to work through it. For this past booking, I had some scheduling changes and asked Autumn at the last minute if she could stay three additional nights. She immediately accepted, giving me such peace of mind. She sends tons of amazing pictures and updates. We are so grateful to have found her!”

“Rita is amazing!!! Not only did she take amazing care of my sweet baby Lola, she was kind enough to watch our house for us, too. I got multiple pictures and updates throughout my whole vacation and I felt great comfort knowing Lola was in good hands. Highly recommend and will be booking again in the future.”

“Luca was amazing! We had a last minute trip and he was incredibly responsive and was able to meet up for a meet and greet very quickly. He took amazing care of our pup and our home for a few days while we were out of town. He sent frequent updates and pictures and overall was very communicative. Our dog was happy and our house was cleaner than we left it! 15/10, we will absolutely be using Luca again in the future and I recommend you do too!”

“Courtney exceeded our expectations (which were already very high based on her existing reviews!). Courtney was incredibly kind and thoughtful and took amazing care of our pup/home. She sent helpful updates and pics each day we were away which we really appreciated, and she left our home spotless. Safe to say we found our go-to sitter when we’re out of town!”

“Abigail helped us in a very hectic moment. We needed someone for a few hours and she replied within a minute of the request. She was willing to FaceTime and chat and headed to our place immediately. She was also very responsive during the sit. It eased a lot of anxiety I had (unrelated to her). I highly recommend Abigail.”

“Just the best! Jax was so excited to see you. Loved every single minute. This is your calling. Thanks again for reassuring us that our fur baby would be in such awesome care. See you soon.”

“Hannah was great! She came out to meet our cat (and us) and get the run-down. Monkey seemed to like Hannah right away, which is weird for Monkey. Hannah was responsive throughout our trip and left the place spotless. I'll be happy to have Hannah cat-sit the next time our usual friend is unavailable - we are grateful she got us out of a tight spot this time!”

“August was very responsive, thoughtful and a good communicator. He sent lots of updates about my dog and how he was doing. My house was in good order and my dog seemed happy and content upon my return! Would recommend him for sure!”

“Savanah watched Scarlett for the third time and as always she did a wonderful job! She takes Scarlett to the park and for walks and sends lots of pictures and updates. It’s so nice to enjoy our trip knowing Scarlett is so well taken care of!”

“Susana is great! Our puppy loves her and she reassured us with daily pictures and accounts of his day. When we decided to come back a day early, Susana was flexible and accommodating. We highly recommended her.”

“Whitney was an excellent Cat Sitter and Housesitter. When we got home from our travels, our elder cat was very happy and calm. We could tell she had been very well cared for. During our travels, Whitney was an excellent communicator responding quickly, asking questions when needed, and sending frequent photos of our kitty.”

“Zoe was great and took wonderful care of my 16-year-old dog, fish/shrimp, and my place. My dog took to her right away. I couldn’t be happier, would hire her again in a heartbeat, and definitely recommend her!”
“LANI was excellent with Molly Bea. She gave her all she needed including play at the dog park. She dealt with an unexpected Molly health emergency, for which we are so very grateful. Lani communicated with us by phone and text, took excellent care of her, kept us updated. She took Molly to the emergency vet, picked her up again and stayed with Molly until we arrived home from our trip last night. I highly recommend Lani!”

“Thanks Tahlese! She was responsible and dependable with great communication and attention to detail. She was also flexible and worked with us when we had a last minute (slight) change of plans. I would recommend Tahlese for your dog and cat care needs!”

“Greg was patient with both me and the boisterous beasts. He looked after the gardens, the dogs, the pond, the fish, and our sensibilities. If you have a complicated situation like ours Greg is a super good fit. Highly recommend him.”

“Candace is absolutely amazing and went above and beyond caring for my dog. He is a very anxious boy but she was so gentle and patient and he took to her quickly. I will definitely be using her services again.”

“Marlena is the epitome of a professional who cares for all animals. When a dog sitter left me in a lurch before a big trip, she stepped up with very short notice and provided the most amazing care to all my fur babies. She is patient, communicative, and above all else caring and kind. I could not have asked for a better person to step up in my time of need and wouldn’t hesitate to rebook if our schedules realigned.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sandia Heights
If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Leaving my dogs with someone else is never easy, but she made the entire experience completely stress-free. From the moment I left, I knew they were in the best hands. She went above and beyond in every possible way. She treated my dogs like they were her own, kept me updated with photos and messages, and gave them so much love and attention. When I came home, they were happy, relaxed, and so obviously well cared for—which says everything. She also took incredible care of my home. Everything was spotless, organized, and exactly how I left it. It’s rare to find someone who is not only amazing with animals but also so thoughtful, trustworthy, and respectful of your space. The level of care, kindness, and professionalism she provides is honestly unmatched. She genuinely loves animals, and it shows in everything she does. I would trust her with my pets again in a heartbeat, and I can’t imagine using anyone else. If you’re looking for someone to care for your pets as if they were family, stop searching and book her. She is, without a doubt, the best dog sitter you could ever ask For.

Scott did a great job taking care of our home and dogs! The dogs instantly liked him, and he sent photos and updates to us during our trip, as we had agreed upon. One of our dogs came down with a UTI just before we left, and Scott was just fine administering the additional medication that she needed to take for that. (she's all better now! Yay!) Our home was clean when we returned and Scott even kept the outdoor plants alive while we were away - in spite of the dry weather and heat. We look forward to having Scott as a house sitter again!

CK did a great job with my four legged kids! Our flight from Dallas was delayed for over an hour, which put us home at 11:30 pm. CK put the dogs to bed and was there when we came home. She sent pictures of my pets when we were gone. We tipped her cash for the extra time. We would gladly use her again.

Erin did an excellent job caring for my 3 cats. When I got home, they seemed relaxed and calm, so I knew they were happy with her, too. One of my cats that doesn't come out to meet visitors was on the sofa next to her, letting her pet him. She sent me photos and gave me updates. Her communication is fantastic. I'm so grateful I found Erin to look after my cats and that she's reliable and trustworthy. She's a gem.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 638 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sandia Heights. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sandia Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sandia Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sandia Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
