Just hoping to pet some pets
I grew up in a household with pet dogs, mice, rats, hedgehogs, and frogs. I now am the proud owner of a rescue cat and have experience looking after everything from farm animals to ferrets. During my undergrad, I lived with a service dog trainer who had live-in dog students. I go out of my way to spend time with animals and love to help them be happy and healthy. Further, neighbors, friends, and family have relied on my to take care of their animals and house-sit for them since I was in high school.

Larkin was great at communicating and taking care of my kitten! She’s very friendly and took great care of our house as well. My kitten, who is often skittish around new people, was super comfortable with her and seemed content when I got home. So glad to have found such a responsible and kind person to hangout with my pet!

We would highly recommend Larkin to anyone who is looking for a exceptionally caring, reliable, and knowledgeable pet caretaker! We planned a vacation for three weeks but our dog, Chloe (who is already anxious) was more fearful than usual because our older dog had just passed away. We were concerned about leaving her, but Larkin was extremely compassionate and understanding. She bonded with Chloe and took excellent care of her while we were gone- even sending photos while we were on our trip to let us know all was okay! Both the dog and our home were in great condition when we returned and we are so thankful to Larkin for all her help! She provides excellent pet caretaking services and we will definitely ask her to come again the next time we travel!
Larkin is truly my go to pet sitter. She’s really reliable, loves animals, and is willing to go above and beyond if necessary. She also sends great update photos. And as an added bonus my cat loves hanging out with her. Highly recommend!

Schedule
I am currently a PhD student at the University of New Mexico and work part time at the Maxwell Museum on Anthropology. I hold a busy, yet flexible, schedule and feel confident I can find time to walk, bike, or drive to take care of furry friends before and after work and throughout the day.

Safety, trust & environment
Because my cat has a lot of anxiety around other animals, I do not offer in-home boarding. However, I am an active walker/jogger and would love to take out dog for a walk or run outside. For cats, I get real joy out of seeing them play or offering them head scratches. As my own pet has special requirements, I will diligently follow all your care instructions and treat your pet with the respect that I rest my own.

A typical day
I live next to the University of New Mexico golf course, which provides a two-mile trail loop that dogs and people love. I am available to take your dog for long walks or even runs, per your request. Playtime is a must and I am a big fan of fetch and giving out treats. I can even get your pup a Puppachino!
