About: I absolutely love dogs! I have Rovered for several years on-and-off in both Seattle and SLC, I have sat and walked dogs of all breeds, sizes, personalities and fitness levels. It has been incredible!! Beyond pet sitting/walking on Rover, I grew up in a home that had chickens, rabbits, cats, dogs, small rodents and a snake. Now, I am serving dog walking/drop-in visits needs for dogs living in the following neighborhoods: Fairpark, Rose Park, Marmalade, Poplar Grove and Capitol Hill. For doggy daycare needs, I will consider dogs across the Salt Lake Valley. For dog-walking/drop-in visits, I am available for dogs of all sizes/ages/energy levels. NOTE: I am not currently not offering daycare/overnight dog sitting, as of 09.21.26. For doggy daycare/dog-sitting requests in my home, I am available for small-medium sized dog at my home. I will consider large dogs with mellow/non-dominant personalities as well. My dog Hen (20 lbs. Shih Tzu/Poodle mis) will be present for play and companionship during your dog's stay, so unfortunately I cannot accept any anti-social pups for daycare in our home. There are 2 cats in our household, so any dogs with cat aggression are unlikely to be good fits for our home. We do have a variety of pet gates in place so that both cats and dogs remain safe and contained. Puppies/young dogs are welcome for dog-walking/drop-in visits/doggy daycare, but dependent on the request, please plan on providing commands/schedule details so that I am well set up to support your training regimen! I am able to provide dog walking, or drop ins for dogs and/or cats, on most Saturday and Sundays. I have occasional availability on holidays. Generally for our home for sleepovers, dogs should be crate trained (for evening sleeping) and loves to play with dogs/toys. I have ample access to great dog friendly outdoor space with my backyard. My dog Hen is very playful with puppies and dogs near his size, and will provide many hours of fun, in addition to walks and toy time. If I need to leave the home, all dogs will be kept in separate rooms and they will not be un-monitored together at any time. I provide 2 walks per day, tons of access to toys, and plenty of couch time. It will be a vacation for your pup! I do not go into environments that are off-leash (hikes, dog parks, etc.) with visiting dogs. Your dog will have two walks daily (morning and evening) in my neighborhood and if your dog does well with other dogs on leash, my dog will join us. Otherwise, I am happy to provide individualized walks for dog guests.

About: I am a life long animal lover with one sweet and energetic hound and two kitties of my own. I have always had pets and am well versed in caring for dogs, cats, and rabbits. I love getting to know your furry friends, and have been pet sitting and dog walking since it was my side hustle in elementary school. I work odd hours and flexible days, so I am able to love on your pets when you can’t. I am available for dog walking, drop in visits, and pet sitting. Times are negotiable as I am usually able to adjust my schedule around when you may need me. My specialties are dogs, cats, and rabbits, but I am happy to learn if you have other pets in your family. I also have experience administering pet medication, including insulin shots. I work a flexible schedule with varying hours and days, which allows me to accommodate pet care throughout the week. Because my schedule is not strictly 9–5, I am often able to work around your pet’s normal routine and the times that are most convenient for you. I am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and dog sitting, and I am happy to discuss timing in advance to find a schedule that works well for both you and your pets. I understand that consistency is important to animals, so whenever possible, I work to keep their usual feeding, walking, medication, play, and rest routines intact. Your pets’ safety and comfort are my top priorities. When caring for pets in their home, I treat their space with the same care and respect I would want someone to show my own home. I carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, routines, and any house-specific guidelines. I know that leaving your pets with someone else requires a great deal of trust, so I communicate openly and pay close attention to the details you provide. I also take the time to make sure pets are comfortable with me rather than rushing interactions, especially when meeting a nervous or shy animal. As a lifelong pet owner, I understand that every animal has different needs. My goal is to provide dependable, attentive care while keeping their environment as familiar and stress-free as possible.
“Carin was fantastic in all aspects in taking care of my dog for drop in walks while I enjoyed a ski vacation with my boys. I’d highly recommend Cari and would definitely use her again in the future.”

“Amber took great care of our cat while we were away. She was extremely responsive via messages and always arrived for visits on schedule. She also dealt with some unexpected curveballs (like our poor buddy vomiting up a hairball on the first day), for which we are very grateful. Thank you, Amber!”

“Deena was the PERFECT sitter for a control freak like myself. She follows instructions and listens well for what’s important to you and your pets. Deena seemed comfortable caring for my elderly cat and the young one, AND left me with TOTAL peace of mind while I travelled. She was on time for her scheduled visits, and made sure to leave detailed notes and photos from each stop in. 10/10 recommend hiring her for reliability and kindness”

“My pets are so lucky to be cared for by Sarah! I always check with her first when I go out of town. She gives individual care to my three pets and is an excellent communicator. Highly recommend.”

About: I cherish all the time I can get with fun loving poochies. I have a mini goldendoodle of my own, so I know how important it is for these companions to receive proper attention with exercise, food, and love. I have attended training classes with my family dog and have experience sitting other puppies as well as senior dogs. I aim to help improve the health of pets, however my ultimate goal is to make dogs just happy as they make me! I do not have a consistent schedule. I have plenty of free time right now to care for pets during the week and even weekends if needed! I am respectful of clients’ homes and make sure to follow guidelines. I am very happy to drive dogs to trails for hikes if requested.

“Clare was THE BEST! We needed someone to check in on our dog last minute and they were our saving grace. Great communication, photos, and our pup loves them so much. We are pretty picky about who watches our dog and highly recommended Clare.”

About: I’ve been an in-home pet sitter since I was 16, so this isn’t new to me, it’s just who I am. I know how sensitive animals can be to change, a new environment, a different routine, their people being gone, and I treat that with real care, not just a checklist. Your pets get treated like my own: watched closely, loved on, and kept as close to their normal routine as possible. My schedule is flexible: I’m an online student, so my days are mostly open, and my evening work shifts are only about 5 hours at a time. That leaves plenty of room for daytime visits, walks, drop-ins, or even overnight/house sitting since I’m not locked into a typical 9-5. Happy to work around your pet’s routine rather than the other way around. I know how vulnerable it feels to hand over your keys and your pet to someone else, so I don’t take that lightly. I treat your home gently, like a welcomed guest, and keep your pet close to their normal rhythm so they still feel safe even with their people gone. I’m present the whole time, really there with them, not distracted. And if anything ever feels off, I’ll tell you. Your home and your pet are safe with me.
About: Treat each pet with care, as if they were my own. 😊 My goal is to give clients peace of mind knowing their beloved pets are in capable hands. Walking your pet is also a treat for me! I have a flexible schedule that allows me to drop in or walk your pet when most convenient to you. I keep clients updated with photos. For safety, I secure doors and gates, use leashes or harnesses during walks, and monitor the pet's well-being closely. I also respect the client's home and maintain a clean environment for their pet.
“Can’t say enough wonderful things about Shana. She really helped us take care of our two dogs and two cats including one dog with very special needs. We really appreciated her experience, her kindness and her communication.”

“Nicole was amazing! My cat loved her. Not only did she do a great job with feeding but she cleaned his litter box and played with him. She kept me updated everyday on how he was doing and was always quick to respond when I sent her a message.”

“Tannith did such an excellent job caring for our cat while we were out of town. She played with him so much and left a little wand toy for him, he’s obsessed with it! She went above and beyond for our boy and we couldn’t be happier”

“McKinsey was great with our doggies! She took great care of them and kept us updated the entire time. We would definitely book her again to care and hangout with our doggies!!! Thanks McKinsey!!”

About: I've raised my dog Fulton, a pomeranian for 10 years, through the puppy stage and into his senior years. That's taught me how much routines, energy levels, and needs change over a dog's life, and how to adjust walks to match. What you can expect: On-time walks with a photo and update after every visit Routes suited to your dog's energy, from city parks to red rock trails Clear communication through the Rover app, start to finish I split my time between Salt Lake City and southern Utah, so check my calendar or send a message to book a Meet and Greet. I work for myself, so my schedule is flexible and I can usually fit walks in during the day, including midday breaks. I split my time between Salt Lake City and southern Utah, and I keep my Rover calendar current so you always know when I'm in your area. Walks start and end at your home. Before the first walk, we'll do a Meet and Greet so I can learn your dog's routine, leash habits, and any triggers. On every walk I: -Use your dog's leash and harness, double-checked before we head out -Avoid busy roads and adjust for heat, cold, and trail conditions -Keep your dog away from unfamiliar dogs unless you've said it's okay -Lock up behind me and send a photo and update when we're done
“Anna was professional and communicative while coordinating drop-in visits for my two cats. She stopped by a few days before the visit to meet my boys and get in-person instructions for their care. She made sure they were well taken care of and played with, and sent me updates and photos during her check-ins. I appreciate Anna’s help, and would definitely book with her again!”

Clare was wonderful taking care of my very particular elderly cat! Not only did they make sure my kitty had her required medication, they checked in on her food and cleaned up a minor accident - all while keeping me informed at every step. We would be happy to have Clare back again! ❤️

Deena is the best! I was in a last minute pinch and super anxious about my dogs who had been cooped up inside all day while I was stuck at work. She answered my request immediately and was at my house within literal minutes! Super responsive and trustworthy and will now be my go-to :)

We had a great experience with Maegan! She took wonderful care of our three kitties while we were away and kept us updated throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. She was attentive to each of their different personalities and made sure they were all well taken care of!

This was my third time booking with Megan, and once again she took wonderful care of my cats. She is reliable, communicative, and always keeps me updated through the Rover cards, which gives me great peace of mind while I'm away. Suellen and Frajola mean the world to me, and I can truly relax knowing they are in such caring hands. Even though my cats don't always get along perfectly, she handles them with patience and care. I highly recommend Megan and will definitely book with her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
