Pet care experience

Lover of all animals!

I have a background in animal welfare and have extensive experience with medical care for cats and am able to administer medication and subcutaneous fluids for cats and dogs as well as some injectables. I am an avid lover of all creatures and started my quest with animals by volunteering to walk dogs at Best Friends Animal Society and later completed an internship in their neonatal kitten nursery. This led to me getting a job in the kitten nursery where I worked all hours caring for neonatal kittens during "kitten season" and later worked in adoptions caring for dogs and cats of all ages, assessing behavior, administering medication, feeding, walking and showing love to these wonderful critters. I have 2 dogs at home, Violet (a pug) and Fritz (cute little mutt), I have 2 indoor cats- Charlie and Chibi, and one “garage kitty” - Miles that I took in from a hoarding situation. He used to live in my backyard but we found out he was FIV positive so now he has an apartment in our garage to keep him and other neighborhood kitties safe and healthy. He was fully “feral”, but now he will let us brush him and has come such a long way😊 My two previous dogs were seniors, and I have a major soft spot for senior animals or those with any sort of special needs. Dexter lived to be 14 and was paralyzed in his hind legs in his last years and we would stroll the neighborhood in his wheelchair, cheering up any person we would pass by. Daisy also had hind issues but never fully lost her ability to walk and with love, medical care and Fritz to liven her up, she bounced back when we adopted her at 13 yrs old. I currently volunteer at a farm on the weekends taking care of goats, pigs, chickens, alpacas, sheep and one sassy llama. Animals are my greatest passion and I assure you I will treat yours as if they were mine :)

Safety, trust & environment

As mentioned previously I have extensive experience with animals and am extremely cautious with every aspect it takes to care for them. This can be anything from making sure leashes are secure, to dietary needs, and approaching them with care and caution as to not stress them out.

Michelle always takes such great care of both of our cats with medication needs. I really appreciate the pictures she sends and the write ups on how they're doing. 💛

Schedule

I own my own small business and do freelance work so my work comes in ebbs and flows. I may have several days to weeks off at a time and love to fill in the gaps by spending time with animals—what truly brings me the most joy 🥰. I love to travel and I know how important it is to have someone you can trust take care of your beloved animal family members.

Please let me know your animals energy level, if there are any medical needs or allergies I should be aware of. I would also love to know how they react to walking by other dogs, their strength on the leash and any mannerisms that may be helpful for us to get to know each other best and make it the best scenario.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
