“We had such a great experience with Christina! Throughout the stay, we received regular updates, photos, and little notes that showed just how well our dog was being looked after. It was clear our dog was happy, relaxed, and getting lots of attention, and love. We especially appreciated the reliability and professionalism, everything was handled exactly as discussed, and even a few extra thoughtful touches went a long way. Coming home to a happy, well-cared-for dog made all the difference. We would absolutely recommend Christina to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable dog sitter. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Jaina was great! You can tell she takes her job seriously and that she seriously likes cats haha. She watched our two kitties while we were out and I'll be sure to use her again in the future.”

About: I've taken care of all sorts of pets for friends and family ever since I could drive myself. I've taken care of senior pets, special needs pets, and have had to give medication to pets who need it. Besides taking care of others' pets, I grew up having tons of dogs, and I currently take care of my three cats. I'm currently a college student, so my schedule will revolve around my classes. That being said, I try to allow myself plenty of time beyond classes, especially in mornings and evenings, and I will always have weekends free. Here's my current schedule (when I will not be available): Monday: 11-6 Tuesday: Free! Wednesday: 11-6 Thursday: Free! Friday: 10-2 Weekends: Free! I always go outside with a pet to make sure everything is okay (no gates are open, they don't eat anything bad, etc.). I've had a few walk-aggressive dogs growing up, so I know how to safely handle escalated situations on walks. Overall, I put safety above all else because pets are such big parts of our lives, so their safety is a must.
About: House sitting is my specialty! I love caring for pets in their home environment where they are most comfortable. I have flexibility with my work hours, and I have time almost every weekend! I work Tuesday thru Friday from 2pm to 10pm, I can be with your pets all day on my weekends (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) and during the day before I go to work! Perfect for people whose pets need lunchtime care while you're at work! Pet safety and happiness are my main concerns! I'm detail oriented, don't be shy to give specialized instructions so I can best care for your babies!
“Bridgette was great! She was available in such short notice and managed to get pics and video of my scaredy cat who hides well. She went above and beyond including cleaning my cat's water bowl. I will definitely book with her again in the future.”

“Kaitlyn stopped in to take of our cat Algae while we were away and did a fantastic job! She was easy to work worth, and communicated quickly and clearly. We were worried that Algae might hide, but she felt comfortable with her and we were sent picture updates. Would recommend.”

“Wow! Beth took such good care of Gravy, better than any other Rover sitter we've had check in on him before. She sent videos of their time together and was so easy to communicate with. I'll definitely ask her to watch Gravy again.”

“We love Sarah!! She’s so reliable, sweet, trustworthy. She gets back to me right away when I reach out to her. She always leaves most beautiful, fun, and sweet pictures of Jasper. I always look so forward to her Rover Cards, which she always completes giving me an update about their time together. My house is always as is or better than I left it. She follows food instructions perfectly and never treats me like a weirdo for giving him real meat!! 😁 We couldn’t wish for more.”

“Madison is an amazing cat sitter! My cat is extremely shy and rarely lets anyone pet her, but Madison was able to earn her trust and even get some pets in. She followed all of my instructions perfectly, including feeding, litter box maintenance, and cleaning up, and she went above and beyond by vacuuming my home. I could not be happier with her care and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and reliable sitter.”

“Jillian is dependable, clean, and my skitty kitty was so chill when came home. So glad to know he’s in good hands! Will definitely rebook again- thank you Jillian!”

“Chris took care of my bunny on short notice, which I really appreciate! He was able to come over same day to grab a key/go over Bij’s routine. He was very communicative and left me detailed messages after his visits, I would ask him to watch my pet again!”

“I was very nervous about leaving my dogs behind during my day trip, but she handled them great even when they parked. When I saw pictures, both dogs looked very relaxed and I was very satisfied with the drop in visit ?”

“We've had Jenny over for both drop-in visits and overnight stays with our dogs. Our two particular pups can be a handful; we have one extremely energetic Australian Shepherd and one older, somewhat temperamental and anxious lab mix. Needless to say, they both require a lot of very different types of attention. Augi can display some fear aggression and she does really well with paying attention to his body language and giving him what he needs to calm down. Jenny is really great with them. She is extremely punctual even when we aren't and was very flexible when our plans had to change last minute--twice. We always feel like the dogs are more calm and attentive when we return than they have been with other sitters. Definitely recommend!”

About: I’ve been a pet parent myself for 10 years, caring for my own dog while looking after multiple cats. I’ve looked after friends and families animals so I am very comfortable stepping into new environments. I’ve gained hands on experience with pets that require medication (including pills, liquids, injections, etc). I’ve cared for animals of all ages and temperaments, from energetic puppies to senior animals who require a little extra patience. I love meeting each pet where they’re at. Whether it’s a gentle cuddle session or an energetic walk, i’ll match your pets energy making sure they feel loved and happy. I’m based in East San Jose and happy to travel a bit farther!! I'm a student with a pretty steady routine, so I have reliable blocks of time for pet care. On weekdays, I'm free in the late mornings and early afternoons — my classes run from about 12:00 to 3:20 PM, and I'm done by mid-afternoon. I have hockey practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:15 to 9:30 AM, but I'm back home by 10:00. Weekends are more open, I always know the schedule ahead of time and can plan around them. I'm rarely away for more than a few hours at a stretch. I plan my week around confirmed bookings and make sure your pets care never overlaps with something else. When caring for pets in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal as possible so they feel comfortable. I always leave the home clean and like to send updates (whether it’s a text or a photo) after visits so you know how things are going. If anything comes up (a change in behavior, a mess, or something out of the ordinary), I’ll let you know immediately. I treat every pet and home like i’d want mine to be treated.
“Arian put our minds at ease while we were out of town! We were camping for the weekend out of cell range, and I was of course worried maybe there was something I didn’t communicate, or whatever the case may be for worried pet owners, but she sent us pictures of our pups and everything was great!”

“Mailys was an amazing caregiver to our 14 year old cat Louis! She was dependable, did everything we requested without fail, even went far above expectations when Louis had an "accident" to clean it. One night when there were heavy thunderstorms in the area and Louis was afraid, she made an extra stop to check on him to make sure he was ok. She did this voluntarily because she was worried about him. I highly recommend Mailys to any pet owner. She is a wonderful person who truly loves animals and can be counted on to take good care of your pet.”

Sarah really helped me out for a last minute long-term booking when my plans fell through right before an international trip. She was great! Frequent pics of the cats helped me feel little stress that they were taken care of while I was away. She also stayed longer one day when the batteries in my CO sensor died and the alarm was going off to make sure she and I talked and things were ok. Would definitely hire again, thanks Sarah!!

Chris and his wife, Alex, were once again amazing! They helped us out with a last minute booking request and we are so so grateful. Alex sent the best updates and photos, and also very clearly had our cats personalities figured out in no time😂. We are lucky to have found them-highly recommend!!
Diane went above and beyond caring for my 2 cats! One of my cats is very anxious, and Diane did an amazing job letting him warm up to her. She clearly has a knack for animals, because he became best friends with her. Diane sent amazing updates and photos for each visit, and it gave me so much comfort knowing my babies were getting just as good (if not better) care as they would with me. She also did an awesome job giving both my cats oral meds, which is a feat itself. I will definitely be asking for Diane’s help again!!

Evelynn B. Watched my two kitties while I traveled to Spain. She was truly wonderful and easy to talk with and detailed (she took notes during the meet and greet) and I left printed instructions the best I could. I came back and the cat boxes were clean and the kitties we happy! I know cats can be a tad tricky esp with one of my kitties being feral and the other one older with some digestive issues. Having a wonderful professional pet sitted makes a huge difference! Thank you Evelynn for your loving care! I am very grateful for your time/efforts. Happy to be reunited with my kitties again! 😻😻

Madison was everything I could have hoped for watching my babies! She left me feeling confident in her and sent ample check in photos. When I get home from a trip, usually my cats seem more agitated but after Madison watched them, they were quite calm and content when I get home. I would absolutely trust Madison for future trips! Lucky to have found her!

Hannah is a wonderful petsitter! She took perfect care of my two elderly, fragile old lady cats. My fur babies are very shy around people they don’t know, but Hannah was able to coax them into interacting with her. She sent daily texts, photos and even a video showing my normally reclusive cat accepting love and purring like a little machine. ♥️

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
