“Mary was absolutely great with Lina. Lina has a medication schedule she stuck too, and despite her separation anxiety, Mary won her over quickly. She sent lots of updates so we felt reassured our dog was in good hands. We will definitely be booking again!”

“Ruthie was great! We left our dog with her for 5 nights and she took really good care of her. She was very responsive, had a flexible schedule, and gave us daily updates. We mentioned that Lara (our dog) is afraid of some bigger dogs, so Ruthie ran it by us before accepting any other dogs while Lara was there. This was a good experience and we will definitely go with Ruthie again in the future.”

“Lorena was awesome! Basel was immediately comfortable and genuinely looked so happy there in all of the photos she sent us. Usually when we pick him up from somewhere, the second we put his harness and leash on he is pulling to go out the door. But we have NEVER seen him return to almost as if say goodbye as he did to Lorena before we left. We definitely look forward to booking her again!”

“Extremely satisfied with boarding our dog with Sarah. Our dog, Twink, did not experience any post problems after her stay. Intend to board our dog with Sarah again in the future.”

“This is the 3rd time Sarah has watched our dog, Groot. She is fantastic and we can tell Groot loves it there and loves playing with her dog. We will continue to use her any time we need someone to watch him.”

“Stephanie is fantastic! She went above and beyond to make the entire dog sitting process easy, reassuring and comfortable for us - from coming to our home for a meet and greet to being extra communicative and flexible to even dropping our dogs off at our house after our long day of travel! She is so sweet and clearly loves dogs. Our pups were upset when she left, so we know they had a great experience too. She is a responsible, trustworthy dog sitter and person. And lastly, her home is super clean, very unlike some of the in-home kennel situations we’ve experienced with Rover sitters. We will be using her again. We can’t recommend her enough!”

“Fantastic care. We were very happy to get pictures throughout our dog stayed and he was having fun. We would definitely be using Misty again and highly recommend her to anyone who wants a reliable, loving person to care for their pets.”

“We love Kelsey! She has done an amazing job caring for our three dogs including one who is a senior with some special-needs and one who is a puppy. We feel so fortunate that we have her to care for them when we are out of town.”
“Louie came home from Julia’s in such a good mood and well behaved. Julia is super knowledgeable and met with Louie prior and understood his quirks as a dog. Louie is 2 but still has puppy energy and Julias son played and cuddled well with him too. Would definitely recommend 10/10!”

“Absolutely amazing experience! I needed a last-minute place for my Husky for an extended trip, and Marie was everything my little guy needed and more. She sent photos daily and made the entire process simple and easy. I'm so grateful to her and her loving family!”

“10/10. Communication was great, my dog seems to have had a great time. Plus NaNa was very accommodating considering I booked last minute. Thanks again!”

“Mandy was so great! From the meet and greet to the communication and updates while caring for my sweet boy. It was so obvious when I went to pick Dudley up that he was comfortable and loved his stay with her!!”
“Tim did an amazing job taking care of our puppy! He was very communicative and gave us updates daily. Tim was very nice and Gabby had a great time. We will definitely use him in the future!”

“Sarah opened her home to my girls and made them comfortable. They usually go to their granny's but all were going on this trip, so it was a very big deal for them to stay elsewhere. They played, walked, rested, and probably were questioning coming home, they were given so much attention. Sarah shared photos and even with a snowstorm ensured they were safe and had fun. I was very pleased. We will call upon sarah again!”

“Lorri watched Albus for a two week period while we traveled this October. She sent pictures and updates daily and it was so great to see Albus doing so well. She literally does more with Albus than we do...taking him along almost everywhere she goes (even to buy a new car!!!). They are best buds and we never worry at all when Albus stays with her.”

They are so kind and took such great care of my Toby. I was in a different country for a while and was nervous since I’ve never left him for that long before and they sent me thorough updates everyday It made me feel like I wasn’t missing anything and just made my life a lot less stressful. I will definitely be rebooking❤️

Sally is the best.dog.caregiver ever!! She loves our little poodle Zosha and Zosha can't wait to have a vacay at Sally's house! She walks her every day, and Zosha loves to lay across her legs in the evening on the sofa. She also sends us pictures of Zosha everyday and lets us know how she is doing. Sally is so loving to the dogs she watches - we are so happy to have found her and Zosha is a regular visitor in her home. Thank you Sally - you are the best!!

This is the second time we leave our little dog with Erica for at least a week. She is great with our dog and the other dogs she takes care of. She is very good at reading a dog's personality and adjusts accordingly. Every time we leave our dog, he gets a little sad and anxious and Erica does a great job at comforting him and making him feel welcomed. So much so that when we pick him up, he's very happy and excited like he's at his second home. She's great at sending updates and being flexible when we have unexpected travel issues. Thanks, Erica, for being so great at what you do!

We can't say enough wonderful things about Katie! Our dog Abby absolutely loves staying with her — every time we drop her off, it's clear she's in the best hands. As pet owners, there's nothing more reassuring than knowing your furry family member is happy and well cared for.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
