“Sonja was amazing. She took such a good care of our Teddy. She made sure he felt comfortable, since he gets very shy with unfamiliar people. Sonja did daily update with pictures, and that was huge relief for us knowing he is in such good hands. Definitively we will use Sonja's service in future.”

“Ali did a fantastic job taking care of Brinkley for a over a week. Brinkley can be a bit shy with other dogs at first and Ali sent updates and pictures as Brinkley warmed up to everyone. I would definitely recommend her!”

“A big thank you to Dustin + fam for taking great care of our Jax! We felt so safe leaving our pup for an overnight with such a welcoming family who provided updates, prompt responses, and great care. Jax came home happy and TIRED and will definitely be back to visit!”

“Marie was a life saver to agree to take our aging pug for his first stay with only 24 hours notice. She was kind, flexible, accommodating and understanding. She has young kids who welcomed Napoleon at the car door and were so excited to have a "pudgy puggie" to play with. He LOVED the attention and care. Upon pick up he was packed and ready to go -- super efficient sendoff. It made me feel so much better to leave my much loved dog in their care. I rebooked Marie for another stay as soon as I got home. A++.”
“Nicole and Tim were absolutely great! Good communicators and sent photos and updates throughout our dogs stay. She can be a little particular but settled in immediately and it felt like she got her own vacation while we were on ours. Will definitely book them again!”

“Judith is so responsive and attentive! This was our first time leaving our precious cargo with someone other than her grandma while we left town for a few days, but knowing that she was with Judith and being loved on was reassuring. I would highly recommend Judith for all pet sitting needs!”

“Shelly’s watched our Wilma for a year now and we have adopted a 2nd pup, Lemmy, and they both love it at Shelly’s! We see lots of photos and videos and know they are comfortable and having fun!”

“What a great experience. They were kind and very professional. Katie has a lot of experience with dogs and is very caring and knowledgeable. Her home was clean and welcoming and her dogs were wonderful, welcoming friends to my loveable goofball boy. I’m so glad I found these folks. Can’t recommend them enough.”

“Laura is absolutely hands down the best dog sitter! She communicates everyday with pictures and videos, treats the dogs so well and they love coming to visit her!”

“Lesley was wonderful and I was very pleased with the communcation and how she took care of Zep! It was Zep's first time staying with anyone besides family and I would definitely have Zep stay with Leslley again”

“Catherine did a great job at caring for our dog. When we pick him up he’s usually pretty eager to leave, but before we left he had to go over to Catherine and get extra pets from her ? we plan on using her services again.”
“I do not have enough words to say how incredible Jessica was with my anxious corgi, Nugget! She was so attentive to his command words, what makes him nervous/comfortable and she even thought of things I hadn’t considered to make him feel comfortable there. She most definitely treated him like her own and he absolutely adores her! (And he is not fond of many people) she was wonderful about sending updates and keeping us connected while we were away. My sweet little boy absolutely loves her and we will be coming back soon!”

“It’s always nerve-wracking when I have to find someone new to watch Doc. Fortunately, I found Dawn—she took great care of him! She’s warm and friendly, and judging by the pictures she sent, Doc had a great time and was well taken care of. I will definitely be a repeat customer!”

About: I have always had a dog and cat in my life (and still do!). I have been using Rover for two years and I don't seem to want to stop anytime soon. I have trained two golden retrievers and walked a lot of puppies, senior dogs and many ages in-between. One of my own dogs was awarded canine good citizenship before my children were born. I love being around animals and I have a caring nature. Now that my kids are getting older, it fits my need to get exercise and bring some joy into my life. I would love to give your pet some snuggles, snacks and I am always mindful to send lots of photos to ensure you can relax while you are away. I know that is what I would want as a pet owner. Some people think you have to either be a "dog person" or a "cat person". Not me! They both have a place in my heart for very different reasons. Cats take some time, but I love their comforting purr, the playfulness of spunky kittens or just petting their soft fur. Some owners simply just someone they can trust for a check-in. I am happy to provide the details needed so you can be OK while you are away. I am typically available in the afternoons as long as I don’t have a meeting scheduled (I work from home) and most evenings are available. Weekends are the best time to book care if you will be out for soccer games, dinner or long evening plans. I have kids as well and I have used Rover for 6+ years on my own pets. I am excited to return the favor to you now that my kids are older. I have used crates with my own pets during training and I will follow whatever safety instructions are needed. I understand all collars, how to avoid run ins with feisty dogs and other concerns you may have. I know how to troubleshoot dogs that like to find hiding spots or have the ability to slip out of the door. I am 40+ and I am raising tweens at this point, so I have a little wisdom under me that other walkers may not have at this point. I am also trustworthy. I have a great full-time job coupled with flexibility. I just want to combine my love of pets with a little extra income.
“We highly recommend Kari for dog sitting. We left our dog Ruby for over two weeks and we were very pleased with the care she received at Kari’s home. She sent lots of photos and videos while we were gone. It helped ease our minds that Ruby was in great care! They treated Ruby like a member of their family! We will definitely use Kari again!”

“Shaina and Imogen were great! We had a last minute booking and she was super accommodating. Finley loved her time over there! Will definitely be booking with her in the future!”

“Karen has a terrific personality and is great with pups! She sent lots of photos and updates during the week she watched our dog and she even delivered an item that we left behind to our home. She’s fantastic. Highly recommended!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rock Hill
I was so nervous to leave my dog for the first time, but as soon as I got pictures from Leslie on that first day of my trip, I was at ease. Leslie communicated everyday and was also incredibly flexible, extending my dog's stay due to a late flight. I would definitely have my dog stay with Leslie again.

Sarah took great care of our golden retriever, Phoenix, while we took a brief vacation. He fit in well with her dog, and we got many great pictures from Sarah to update us while we were away. We were super comfortable with our dog's stay even though we had never left him with anyone before. I heartily recommend Sarah for you and your dog.

Lesley was a true blessing when we were frantically looking for a sitter last minute. It was our time using Rover and first time using a non-family member to watch Asher so we were very anxious! From meet-and-greet and communication while Asher was with her, to his tail waging goodbye at pickup, we’re grateful to Lesley (and her pups) for welcoming him.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
