“Jennifer is definitely among the greatest sitters you can get! She was so caring and accommodating. Her cats are also very sweet and sociable, it was great to see how well they got along with my cat Tori. She also sent a lot of photos and videos so I can tell Tori is having a great time at Jennifer's place. Highly recommended to anyone who needs to board their fur babies!”

About: I have always had a dog and cat in my life (and still do!). I have been using Rover for two years and I don't seem to want to stop anytime soon. I have trained two golden retrievers and walked a lot of puppies, senior dogs and many ages in-between. One of my own dogs was awarded canine good citizenship before my children were born. I love being around animals and I have a caring nature. Now that my kids are getting older, it fits my need to get exercise and bring some joy into my life. I would love to give your pet some snuggles, snacks and I am always mindful to send lots of photos to ensure you can relax while you are away. I know that is what I would want as a pet owner. Some people think you have to either be a "dog person" or a "cat person". Not me! They both have a place in my heart for very different reasons. Cats take some time, but I love their comforting purr, the playfulness of spunky kittens or just petting their soft fur. Some owners simply just someone they can trust for a check-in. I am happy to provide the details needed so you can be OK while you are away. I am typically available in the afternoons as long as I don’t have a meeting scheduled (I work from home) and most evenings are available. Weekends are the best time to book care if you will be out for soccer games, dinner or long evening plans. I have kids as well and I have used Rover for 6+ years on my own pets. I am excited to return the favor to you now that my kids are older. I have used crates with my own pets during training and I will follow whatever safety instructions are needed. I understand all collars, how to avoid run ins with feisty dogs and other concerns you may have. I know how to troubleshoot dogs that like to find hiding spots or have the ability to slip out of the door. I am 40+ and I am raising tweens at this point, so I have a little wisdom under me that other walkers may not have at this point. I am also trustworthy. I have a great full-time job coupled with flexibility. I just want to combine my love of pets with a little extra income.
“Melinda was great with Sonny. She listened to me as I explained my dog's needs since he is an older dog. Despite not having a fence she explained how she keeps the dogs under her care safe. I would rebook with Melinda again.”
“Stella had an amazing time with Ashlie and Phillip! They are very comfortable with large dogs and made me feel so at ease leaving my pet in their care. Their home is perfect with a fenced in backyard and the entire family is used to having dogs around. I received picture/updates and had a wonderful experience! I will definitely be using Ashlie and Phillip in the future!”

“Shaina and Imogen were great! We had a last minute booking and she was super accommodating. Finley loved her time over there! Will definitely be booking with her in the future!”

“Blake was AMAZING! He took my same-day booking when I had to travel last minute and my usual sitter fell through 🩷 it was my first time using Rover and my first time leaving Woods with someone he didn’t know so I was nervous, but I got videos and updates throughout each day! Both me and Woods had a great experience and I’ll 100% be reaching out Blake in the future”

“Mika and her family were great with Rambeau. He looked happy and content. We enjoyed Rambeau's daily pictures and short video updates while we were out of town. And I hope to use them again. :-)”

“Jenna is amazing, She sent me pictures and updates on my baby.So I would always know that he was in good hands and when I picked him up.I don't think he wanted to come home.He wanted to stay!! Lol. We'll definitely rebook with her!”

“Carly, Doug and their family did a fantastic job watching our active yellow lab Auggie for ten days while we were on a family vacation. They provided regular updates and photos of Auggie, which allowed us to know that he was in good hands. I highly recommend contacting Carly and Doug, if you need a sitter for your furry friend”

“Louie had a wonderful time!! He was very well taken care of! We will definitely use Leah again for our next trip! She was very responsive and flexible with time pick up. Thanks again Leah!”

“SO HAPPY we found Karen to take care of our dog while we were away! She is wonderful and took excellent care of Peanut! During our trip, we received texts with photos and nice comments. We really hope that Karen will be available next time we are away, because we will definitely be repeat customers!”

“I'm very grateful Lucy was available this weekend. Maggie seemed to have had a great time and was very happy when she got home. Lucy's pick-up and drop-off was very punctual and she was available for an early drop-off when I returned home early in the day. Layla, Lucy's dog, seems to be a great playmate for Maggie. Got pictures of them playing and resting together every day. Will book again!”

“Sarah was an amazing pet sitter for my Oliver. He loved all the cuddles, fenced yard to run and play fetch, and friends he made during his stay. Sarah was so great with daily updates and loads of pictures! I will definitely use her again!! :)”
“Karen took care of our 12 1/2 year old female pup who was raised in Nicaragua where other dogs were a threat not a friend. Our pup loves people but is not always friendly with other dogs. Karen was very attentive and communicative during the week our pup stayed with her. She was patient and kind We would use Karen again.”

“Dustin and Margaret and their whole family took amazing care of Louie while we were gone. They were very communicative throughout his stay and Louie loved the extra attention. We will definitely book with their family again.”

“Marie was a life saver to agree to take our aging pug for his first stay with only 24 hours notice. She was kind, flexible, accommodating and understanding. She has young kids who welcomed Napoleon at the car door and were so excited to have a "pudgy puggie" to play with. He LOVED the attention and care. Upon pick up he was packed and ready to go -- super efficient sendoff. It made me feel so much better to leave my much loved dog in their care. I rebooked Marie for another stay as soon as I got home. A++.”
“Amazing communication and LOTS of pictures! Will definitely use Jennifer again to watch Sammie, I felt reassured she was in good hands seeing my pup playing and having fun.”
“Ursula was AMAZING!!! I needed help at the last minute for a full 19 days! Ursula took in my puppy and treated her like family. I received photos and updates everyday. Ursula is kind, professional, flexible and a true animal lover. 5 solid stars:)”

Reema was lovely! She took care of our dog Chi Chi while we were on a long vacation and gave daily updates. Chic Chi also had a playmate as Reema has a small dog herself who’s was as welcoming and friendly as the owners. Chi Chi got plenty of love, affection and playtime and returned home a happy pup. Highly recommend!

Sarah took great care of our golden retriever, Phoenix, while we took a brief vacation. He fit in well with her dog, and we got many great pictures from Sarah to update us while we were away. We were super comfortable with our dog's stay even though we had never left him with anyone before. I heartily recommend Sarah for you and your dog.

We’ve been using the same sitter for Bentley and couldn’t be happier! It’s such a relief knowing he’s in great hands every time. Bentley always comes home happy and well cared for — you can tell he’s truly loved during his stays. We keep coming back because the consistency and trust are unmatched. Highly recommend!

Truly incredible ❤️ We needed a last-minute sitter for a 1.5 week trip. Makena was miraculously available and ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. It’s always a little scary leaving your dog with someone you don’t know, but we did a quick meet and greet ahead of time and then Makena was amazing about sending photos and videos with quick updates over the course of the stay. Our dog was so well cared for and clearly felt loved and cozy in Makena’s home. I’m so so grateful and so sad this was our first and last time with Makena given we’re moving out of state soon. Any and every dog who gets to spend time with her (and her incredibly sweet dog, Bear) is so lucky! Our girl can be super anxious and shy but felt right at home from the very first day. Makena is awesome ❤️

Melanie was awesome. She sent daily updates and pics of my little boy. It was is first time staying with other dogs and I was a little nervous at first but Melanie ensured that everything would be ok. Nugget enjoyed himself and made 2 friends during his stay :). I would definitely book with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
