I balance pet care with a flexible work schedule and family life. I work in an office about 18 hours a week, but I’m home for plenty of playtime, walks, and snuggles. Dog duties usually happen after my kids’ activities or in the evenings when I can give them my full attention. I enjoy walks, training sessions, and quiet cuddle time, so I’m happy to match your pet’s personality and needs.

About Gretchen B.
Safety, trust & environment
I live in a house with a fenced-in quarter-acre yard, close to parks for walks and outdoor fun. My two young kids are very respectful of animals after growing up with a dog who preferred space, so I know how important it is to honor each pet’s boundaries. I crate dogs if they need their own safe space or when I leave briefly, to help ease separation anxiety and keep them safe. During introductions, I keep pets on leash until I know everyone is comfortable. In my home, dogs can sleep where they’re used to—whether that’s a crate, couch, bed, or their favorite spot. Above all, I’ll always provide love, attention, and care as if they were my own.

Information Gretchen B. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for your pet, I like to learn about their routine and personality so I can make them feel at home. Knowing their feeding schedule, potty routine, and any medications is important, as well as what comforts them (favorite toy, blanket, or sleeping spot). I also like to hear about their energy level, play style, and how they react to new people, kids, or other dogs. If there are any behaviors or triggers I should be mindful of—like leash reactivity, separation anxiety, or resource guarding—that helps me create the safest and happiest environment possible for your pup.
A typical day
Every dog is different, so I make sure to match activities to their energy and personality. For active pups, I enjoy taking them on walks around my neighborhood and nearby parks, playing fetch in my fenced yard, or practicing training commands to keep their minds engaged. For more laid-back or senior dogs, I provide plenty of snuggles, belly rubs, and calm companionship. I also love using interactive toys, teaching fun tricks, or even having a little “dance party” with musical pups (my last dog could sing Happy Birthday!). Above all, I’ll make sure your pet feels loved, entertained, and part of the family.

Pet care experience
With over 15 years of experience, I’ve cared for everything from playful puppies to senior pets needing extra support. I was the go-to in my family for getting dogs to take their medications, and I’ve handled everything from nail bleeds to more serious first aid situations. I’ve fostered dogs under a year old, cared for my senior dog through her later years, and trained pets in basic commands (and even fun tricks like singing Happy Birthday!). What sets me apart is my ability to meet dogs where they’re at—whether they’re high-energy, shy, or total couch potatoes.
Reviews
Gretchen is the BEST. She shared updates throughout our booking and it was clear our pup was getting lots of love.
Gretchen has watched our dog multiple times. She’s great with her! She loves her like she’s her own dog. She walks her each day and gives her all the human cuddles she needs. I love leaving our dog with her. I know our dog will be happy and well loved. Her kids are also very good around our dog and love giving her lots of pets! I happily recommend her to every dog owner I know!
Absolutely the best dog sitter around!! She will love your pup like her own. They will get lots of walks, cuddles, attention and you will get reliable updates so you can be rest assured your pet is being taken care of. Very responsible and super friendly. 10/10 recommend
