“Jacob is a wonderful pet sitter. He took care of my two cats and kept me updated with pics and notes about how they were doing. One of my cats’ had trouble adjusting but he encouraged her everyday to come out of her safe place. She finally came out on the last day. So I will definitely use him again. By the way he took my cats in an emergency situation and contacted me right away. Thank you to Rover, but mostly a huge shout out and thank you to Jacob.”

“Lesley was awesome! Our little dog Enjoyed playing with her two dogs for one week. We received updates throughout the week including play by play, pictures and even a video. Lesley has a true love for dogs! We would highly recommend her to anyone considering care for your pets while you are away. Five-star treatment!”

“Nicole and Tim were absolutely great! Good communicators and sent photos and updates throughout our dogs stay. She can be a little particular but settled in immediately and it felt like she got her own vacation while we were on ours. Will definitely book them again!”

“Tim was such an answered prayer! Our petsitter had to cancel last minute and he was so willing to step in and was patient and flexible with all of our questions. Both of our dogs told us they had a blast at his dog parks and playing with Oliver his sweet dog. I really appreciated the extra time he took to send pics and videos as well as deliver them back home to help us out since we were running late getting home due to weather and holiday traffic. Rusty and Daisy give Tim two paws up and we do too! We hope to get lucky enough to have him watch our dogs again in the near future!”

About: I have always had a dog and cat in my life (and still do!). I have been using Rover for two years and I don't seem to want to stop anytime soon. I have trained two golden retrievers and walked a lot of puppies, senior dogs and many ages in-between. One of my own dogs was awarded canine good citizenship before my children were born. I love being around animals and I have a caring nature. Now that my kids are getting older, it fits my need to get exercise and bring some joy into my life. I would love to give your pet some snuggles, snacks and I am always mindful to send lots of photos to ensure you can relax while you are away. I know that is what I would want as a pet owner. Some people think you have to either be a "dog person" or a "cat person". Not me! They both have a place in my heart for very different reasons. Cats take some time, but I love their comforting purr, the playfulness of spunky kittens or just petting their soft fur. Some owners simply just someone they can trust for a check-in. I am happy to provide the details needed so you can be OK while you are away. I am typically available in the afternoons as long as I don’t have a meeting scheduled (I work from home) and most evenings are available. Weekends are the best time to book care if you will be out for soccer games, dinner or long evening plans. I have kids as well and I have used Rover for 6+ years on my own pets. I am excited to return the favor to you now that my kids are older. I have used crates with my own pets during training and I will follow whatever safety instructions are needed. I understand all collars, how to avoid run ins with feisty dogs and other concerns you may have. I know how to troubleshoot dogs that like to find hiding spots or have the ability to slip out of the door. I am 40+ and I am raising tweens at this point, so I have a little wisdom under me that other walkers may not have at this point. I am also trustworthy. I have a great full-time job coupled with flexibility. I just want to combine my love of pets with a little extra income.
“Sarah was very accommodating for a last-minute booking for an overnight stay. She even helped with some food. Izzy was so exhausted last evening, even into the next morning, from playing with other dogs. I tired dog is a good dog!”

“I'm very grateful Lucy was available this weekend. Maggie seemed to have had a great time and was very happy when she got home. Lucy's pick-up and drop-off was very punctual and she was available for an early drop-off when I returned home early in the day. Layla, Lucy's dog, seems to be a great playmate for Maggie. Got pictures of them playing and resting together every day. Will book again!”

“Katie's home was very welcoming to us and our Murray. We met Katie, her son, mom and sister at our meet & greet. A very friendly family, all dog lovers. Murray made himself at home immediately, checking out the new territory, and quickly found a playmated, Maggie. We had a comfortable feeling immediately with no concerns that Murray would be well taken care of. Katie will be our go-to-sitter if needed in the future. Murray seconds this decision. He enjoyed his vacation and slept for 2.5 days after coming home!”

“Shaina and Imogen were great! We had a last minute booking and she was super accommodating. Finley loved her time over there! Will definitely be booking with her in the future!”

“I highly recommend Beth! Had to go on a family vacation to Florida and leave my dog, Gary, for over 5 days for the first time ever. Beth was very accommodating and Gary had a blast! Will definitely use her again when I need to. 5/5.”

“Lorena took wonderful care of our Teddy! He’s an older dog so a calm atmosphere was perfect for him. Lorena is very caring and easy to work with. We will definitely be using her again.”

“If you want your pet to be spoiled and catered to while you’re away, I highly recommend Nana! She was fantastic with providing care and updates.”

“Absolutely amazing experience! I needed a last-minute place for my Husky for an extended trip, and Marie was everything my little guy needed and more. She sent photos daily and made the entire process simple and easy. I'm so grateful to her and her loving family!”

“Carly and her family were the best sitters for Coco we could have asked for! Coco had so much fun she almost didn’t want to come home! We really appreciated the daily updates and pictures. We will definitely be booking with Carly again!”

“Ben was super patient with our pup. He has a great place for making dogs feel at home. We appreciated his great communication and look forward to many more visits.”

“Happy with Sarah taking care of our two Husky dogs. We received daily update about the dogs and pictures. Dogs looked good and happy when we picked them up. Will book with Sarah again.”

“Julia seemed very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable leaving my dog for a week in a new place. She was very flexible with pickup and drop off and sent photos during our stay for updates. Would absolutely recommend”

We cannot recommend Sarah enough! From the moment she met our dog, she was patient, calm, and deeply knowledgeable. While we were away for over a week, we received daily photo updates and detailed texts that gave us total peace of mind. Our dog most definitely got more attention and pampering than she does at home:) When we came home, our pup was relaxed, happy, and clearly well-cared for. We look forward to using Sarah on our next trip! Thank you, Sarah!!

Karen took care of our 12 1/2 year old female pup who was raised in Nicaragua where other dogs were a threat not a friend. Our pup loves people but is not always friendly with other dogs. Karen was very attentive and communicative during the week our pup stayed with her. She was patient and kind We would use Karen again.

Our Maggie had a wonderful weekend with Katie and her family. Scheduling was easy, and Katie was a great communicator the whole time. We loved the many pictures and updates on Maggie’s day. Thank you for taking such great care of Maggie and looking forward to more bookings!!

Sally is the best.dog.caregiver ever!! She loves our little poodle Zosha and Zosha can't wait to have a vacay at Sally's house! She walks her every day, and Zosha loves to lay across her legs in the evening on the sofa. She also sends us pictures of Zosha everyday and lets us know how she is doing. Sally is so loving to the dogs she watches - we are so happy to have found her and Zosha is a regular visitor in her home. Thank you Sally - you are the best!!

Shelly was amazing with Jax! We got lots of pictures and videos of a boy who was having a blast at her house. What a great backyard space for them to play. She was thorough at explaining everything and is so professional. Thank you Shelly for taking care of our boy ❤️

We can't say enough wonderful things about Katie! Our dog Abby absolutely loves staying with her — every time we drop her off, it's clear she's in the best hands. As pet owners, there's nothing more reassuring than knowing your furry family member is happy and well cared for.

Sue takes great care of our GSP. Our dog gets a lot of great play time in Sue’s yard with her dog. Of note, we were supposed to pick out dog up at about 7:30 on a Sunday night after our return from a long weekend in Austin. Despite our flight being 2 hours delayed, Sue was patient and waited for us to come over late to get our pup. Thank you for your amazing flexibility Sue!!

I am very impressed with how well the dog sitting went and how great of care she took care of my dog. The picture updates were wonderful and she did a great job communicating. I could tell my dog was very happy and didn’t want to leave. I would definitely recommend to others as I am very pleased.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
