I have also dogsat for multiple families since I was an adolescent and have volunteered at the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County, working with both cats and dogs. In March 2017, I found and rescued two very sweet dogs from the streets of Memphis. I taught them basic manners, helped them overcome their fear of cars, and showed them lots of love. It was a very rewarding experience and has given me the confidence to work with a wide variety of animals. I work in office M - F 7:45am-4:30pm. I am currently only accepting pets that can be left alone during that time period without incident. My loving kitty Sherbert passed away today. Katie was so kind and supportive to Sherbert and to me throughout. She notified me of Sherbert’s deteriorating condition right away and stayed with him as much as she could while still honoring her other appointments. She came back for him and took him to the emergency hospital while I was driving home to St Louis to be with Sherbert in his final moments. I couldn’t have asked for better kindness and care from anyone. I will continue to rely on Katie with complete confidence to take care of Callie, my other kitty. She and I both with miss Sherbert with all our heart. 🐈
