“Alyssa was awesome! We booked her last minute and she was very quick to respond. The pups were happy and taken care of, and she even cleaned the house before we got home which definitely wasn’t expected! We will definitely use her again!”

“Cassandra was wonderful with our three senior dogs! One of our furbabies is not the most welcoming to strangers but he became friends with Cassandra on the 1st day! She also was kind enough to go to the store and get more chicken for the babies and cooked them too since we ran out. She went above and beyond and definitely grateful for her taking care of the furbabies! She definitely eased my mind during our vacation! Cassandra also not only took care of our furbabies but she took great care of our home too! Thank you, Cassandra!”

“Monica was absolutely fantastic! Our pups loved having her there, especially our dog who is terrified of fireworks. Knowing they were safe, comfortable, and well cared for gave us so much peace of mind. We will definitely be using Monica again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. Thank you, Monica! ❤️”

“Daela has been the most honest, reliable, communicative - actions aligning with words pet sitter I've expirenced so far from Rover. I've had some really weird experiences with the pet sitters not staying the night or indicating their going to be at the house quite a bit but leaving most of the time or canceling last minute, but not Daela, she clearly communicates what's going on and plans ahead of and during the stay. Shes great! She's so sweet with the animals as well. Took Millie on walks and play dates, etc. Would book her again 100%!”

“Tonya is amazing. My shy dog Lillie loved her from the minute they met. Tonya sent pictures regularly and my cat and dog looked happy and comfortable. I was able to enjoy my trip better without having to worry.”

About: I am an experienced pet caregiver, and in another life I was a veterinary assistant. I currently work part-time (2-3 days a week) in retail, so I want to spread love and care to all pets big and small! As of right now I am available every day, including weekends, from early mornings to late nights. I have reliable transportation to and from your homes as needed or in case of any emergency. I can offer long walks and play time for your furry friends! I can work with both dogs and cats who require medications such as insulin, transdermal medications, any other oral medications and other special care during home visits and boarding situations. I do not have any breed restrictions and hope to see dogs of all shapes and sizes, and I can walk even the heaviest of dogs. I currently work full time from home. I have a fenced in backyard for potty breaks and easily accessible walking trails by my home that I love utilizing. I live in a 3 bedroom home with my partner and a roommate. We are all animal lovers and love to play. While I am the main caregiver in the home, I am in competition for main cuddler.
“Angela was absolutely amazing! I felt completely comfortable having her stay in our home and care for our dog, Stevie. She was kind, responsible, and treated Stevie like family. She kept us updated with messages and pictures, giving us peace of mind while we were away. Angela followed our routine, took great care of our home, and went above and beyond to make sure Stevie felt happy and loved. As a newly adopted 1-year-old German Shepherd, husky mix with some quirks, Stevie needed patience and understanding, and Angela provided exactly that. It’s not easy finding someone you trust with both your pet and your home, but Angela made it easy. We would gladly have her back and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter!”

“We really appreciated the care our Rover sitter gave our two dogs while we were away overnight. He was available on short notice, responded promptly, and came by for a meet-and-greet very soon afterward, which we really appreciated. He communicated well throughout the stay and sent lots of pictures, giving us peace of mind while we were away. I had told him it was completely fine if he skipped our dogs' morning walk since we were only gone for one day, but he took them anyway, and I truly appreciated the extra effort. After we had already booked, I also asked if he could turn our leopard geckos' lights on and off, and he was happy to help with that as well. Most importantly, our two pups mean the world to us, so knowing they were well cared for gave us great peace of mind. They are an important part of our family, and we're very grateful for the excellent care and attention they received. Thank you, Jonathan!”
About: I have had a pet most of my life. I have had one bird, four cats and now my third dog. I have also sat for friend’s dogs, cats, rabbits and birds. I love doing it and very watchful and careful, I am retired and have one dog. I do healing work, including animals, but is on my own schedule so I am flexible. I wish I had more room, but I don’t. Although I do not usually sit for dogs in my home, I do have a small walled in patio and have used it when my dog’s “best friend” comes for a visit. I am flexible but can’t always work ever day.I will try to work with clients to the best of my ability. I will always let people ahead of time if I am going out of town or have a conflict. I will be dropping in on your “fur children” when needed and adhere to your instructions with an extra “helping” of love. I have cared for animals over the years and treat them as if they were my own.
“Adrian was great with my 12 year old girl. Many pics and good amount of communication. He left the house in perfect condition, I could barely tell he was even there. Will use his services when needed again.”

“This is the 2nd time that we have had Charis watch our dogs. One of our dogs has really high anxiety. Charis was really great with him. She was patient and let him get used to her in his own time. He very quickly warmed up to her. She is really good about sending updates and pictures and responds quickly to messages. I will absolutely be using her again. She also left the house immaculate! Even changed the sheets, which was one less thing we had to worry about since we got home so late at night. Thank you, Charis!!”

“Dina did an outstanding job looking after my 2 dogs while I was on vacation! My dogs loved her and she made me feel perfectly at ease while I was gone. She has a wonderful personality and is very caring. I plan to have her help me with my dogs again soon!”

“We think she is amazing!!! Huge thank you to Sue for taking such wonderful care of our two fur babies, all the sweet updates and massive smiles in each picture! She wore them out every day with play time, spoiled them and left our house spotless! Followed our established routines seamlessly, and we returned to two very happy, content and relaxed pups! We will definitely be booking her again for our next pup staycation while we are out of town!”

“Heather was great with our pups, who can be a bit challenging at first. We really appreciated her communication and picture updates. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

We rebooked Jean for a quick weekend trip and she was wonderful again! I did not have the time to prep the house quite as much before this trip and but she did not seem to mind. Our pup can get some anxiety when we are gone but Jean is so loving and attentive with him we know he’s in good hands.
We couldn't have asked for a better pet and house sitter! She stayed in our home for two weeks while caring for our dog, Kona, and gave us complete peace of mind the entire time. She sent constant photo updates, which made being away so much easier, and it was obvious from every picture how happy and well cared for Kona was. She truly went above and beyond. Not only did she make sure Kona was well-fed and even picked up more food for him when he needed it, but she also took wonderful care of his skin (bulldogs can be difficult!) and overall well-being. When we came home, Kona was happy, healthy, and clearly loved. She also took exceptional care of our home. It was absolutely spotless when we returned, and she even took care of extra household tasks like outdoor cleanup and taking out the trash. On top of all that, she left us thoughtful goodies, which was such a sweet surprise. She is reliable, communicative, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. We trust her completely and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets and home. We will absolutely be booking her again!

Diego stayed at our house and took care of our 2 dogs for about a week and a half. Our dogs loved him! And he provided us regular pictures and updates everyday which we really appreciate. He was super responsive and followed everything we asked of him. Overall excellent dog sitter and will book with him in the future.

Lauren has been a loving, caring and devote sitter for my three fur babies, she has been a excited communicator and she has gone above and beyond to make our fur babies comfortable as possible while we were gone. Lauren provided photos and updates which is very appreciative. Our flight was delayed and she reached out to stay a little longer which we appreciate knowing our babies were looked after by their favorite hooman :D definitely highly recommended and looking forward to booking with her in the future. Thank you Lauren <3

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Youngtown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Youngtown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Youngtown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
