“Adrian was great with my 12 year old girl. Many pics and good amount of communication. He left the house in perfect condition, I could barely tell he was even there. Will use his services when needed again.”

“When we go out of town, Jean is ALWAYS our go-to sitter for our elder special needs cat. She's a great house guest, we trust her implicitly, and always sends lots of texts, photos, and video check ins.”

“This was our first time leaving our dogs with a sitter. Kalin put us at ease right away with excellent communication, pictures and videos of our dogs throughout our trip. Our dogs were calm upon our return. Our house and yard were in order. I would highly recommend Kalin to care for your pets.”

“Cassandra will exceed all expectations every single time. There are truly no words to describe how happy we are that we found her. This is our third time using her and we will continue to book with her. It is so nice to go away on vacation and to not worry about our fur babies. She is a blessing.”

“Daela has been the most honest, reliable, communicative - actions aligning with words pet sitter I've expirenced so far from Rover. I've had some really weird experiences with the pet sitters not staying the night or indicating their going to be at the house quite a bit but leaving most of the time or canceling last minute, but not Daela, she clearly communicates what's going on and plans ahead of and during the stay. Shes great! She's so sweet with the animals as well. Took Millie on walks and play dates, etc. Would book her again 100%!”

“Audra was amazing with Ava! She kept me informed on what was going on and I loved getting the pictures! I highly recommend her and will use her for any future sittings!”

“I would absolutely use Leslie again to sit with my dogs. They have severe separation anxiety and she stayed with them overnight and was able to work from home at my house during the day. She completely changed up her schedule to accommodate and I couldn't be more thankful.”

“Pei-Wen was amazing and sent us pictures while we were gone! We had house sitting services, and I think the house was in better shape then when we left it! Our pets were well cared for while we were gone.”

About: I have done a variety of pet care but mostly cats and dogs. I don’t mind staying over night but would prefer daily visits and or dog walking. My routine is flexible so I should be able to care for your pet at a time that is best for them. I do believe that routine is important for both cats and dogs so I will try to give them what they are used to. I will endeavor to keep the environment as you left it and ensure that your pet feels safe and secure. I have never had an emergency vet visit on my watch!
“Charis was great! One of our dogs is very anxious and scared of everyone and everything, but this didn’t phase her. She was patient with him and soon he warmed right up to her. Would definitely have her back.”

About: I was in veterinary assistant school from Junior to Senior year of high-school, earning my accredited veterinary assistant certificate. I cared for animals within my schools care and had to follows schedules and administer medication when applicable. I do want to emphasize that assisting is BARE MINIMUM veterinary information so I will not be able to diagnose/prognose any animals. I have pet sit for my sister and my friend while they are away on vacation, providing daily pictures along with that. I'm currently working a part-time job that has too many workers. I'm seeking another job that I know I will be efficient and good at while also enjoying in the mean time. I have plenty of times during my weeks and am willing and able to hangout with your pets for majority of my days :) Due to my short work schedule, I am able to provide care for your animal for majority of the day (depending on which days I work). Thankfully, I am never working a full day at my job so your pet will never be left alone for more than a couple hours during the day.
“Susan was absolutely amazing! I wish I could rate her 11/10!! She stayed with my dogs as I asked and gave them lots of love and attention. I never worried once while we were on our trip. She sent daily videos and pictures and even helped water my flowers for me. Susan was prompt and had great communication. I can’t wait to use her services some more and so grateful to have found her!!”

“Monica was GREAT! She showed up a few minutes early which I appreciated since it was our first meeting. She was organized and listened (without judgment) about my quirky Tibetan Terrier who has separation anxiety. She sent photos during the short visit, which wasn’t really necessary but showed her diligence and caring. Will definitely ask her back!”

About: i’ve always had a dog growing up and still have 2 of my own that i take care of. i’m very good at training dogs simple commands (sit, down, etc.) and am very patient with dogs. I work full time right now but am looking to spend time with more fur babies on my free time. My schedule isn’t linear so my availability is a little all over the place, but it never hurts to ask if i can do a job !!! For my two pets i feed them twice a day morning and night. I take them for walks and also spend time playing with them and giving them attention. i always make sure to keep an eye on them so that they don’t hurt themselves or get into something bad.
About: I have had dogs all my life, I have experience caring for and walking them. I use my dogs to help house break new puppies, I'm experienced with large dogs after having quit a fee myself, including a Bullmastiff. I just left my full time job, so I will be home all the time, doing pet sitting is something I always wanted to do. I have an 8 foot cinder block wall going around my large backyard, I have a pool, I am always in the yard with my new dogs.

“Emily did a fantastic job with our two pups…they fell in love with her and followed her everywhere!🤩 She was great about taking them for walks and showing them bunches of love!! 🥰 Each day she posted pics & updated us on their welfare & behavior. Dealing with multiple bouts of diarrhea, she took it all in stride and demonstrated her flexible, easygoing nature. Could not be happier with their care and will definitely turn to her for dog sitting in our apartment in the future!!🤩🤩🤩”
“We booked again with Richelle and she again took great care of Lola and our home when we were away. Lola’s sensitive stomach was acting up but Richelle took good care of her and kept us in the loop the whole time.”

“Tonya is amazing. My shy dog Lillie loved her from the minute they met. Tonya sent pictures regularly and my cat and dog looked happy and comfortable. I was able to enjoy my trip better without having to worry.”

Angela has been fantastic, so patient with my anxious rescue dog. She handled some difficult situations professionally and kindly. She was great about communicating my pets’ needs, sending updates and pictures. My cat warmed up to her immediately. It was so comforting to feel I was leaving my pets in such reliable hands.

We think she is amazing!!! Huge thank you to Sue for taking such wonderful care of our two fur babies, all the sweet updates and massive smiles in each picture! She wore them out every day with play time, spoiled them and left our house spotless! Followed our established routines seamlessly, and we returned to two very happy, content and relaxed pups! We will definitely be booking her again for our next pup staycation while we are out of town!

Lori did an awesome job with my pets. She really cared about them and took very good care of them. Will definitely use her in the future. Did not worry at all about my pets when I was gone. My Maggie dog has special food, and she made sure she had it with her probiotics She walked them for me. She sent me pictures and videos of my Maggie and Penny. I was very happy with her service.

Corissa is wonderful. Our fur babies love her. She gives them the love and attention they need. She sends us pics of our fur babies daily so we are updated daily. Corissa picks up after the animals and leaves the house clean and tidy. This is our second time using Corissa and we plan on using her again.

We enjoyed our overseas trip that much more because we knew our three “puppies” were in Daela’s competent and loving hands. Her daily photos brought us smiles and giggles. For sure we will book again should the need arise. Thanks from the three “Cavies” and parents Jan & Charlie

Vanessa was so great with my three dogs…she made sure that their feeding and medication schedule was followed, she took extra care with my one dog who was timid and afraid, and she left my house as clean as it was before my trip. I will definitely be contacting her again for our next trip!

Sydney is an unbelieve blessing. We love out of state, a parent went into hospital, and she was amazing navigating getting into the home, navigating food and sanitary issues for quite a few cats over a lengthy period. Compassionate, detailed and a wonderful communicator.
Roxy did a wonderful job. She arrived at her meet and greet very professional and was very thorough with gathering info on how to care for our critters. While we were gone she send pictures several times a day and left the house very clean when she left. We will definitely be using her again!

Emily was wonderful with our dogs, especially for it being her first time watching them. She was attentive, caring, and made sure they were comfortable and well taken care of. We appreciated her communication and felt at ease knowing our dogs were in good hands. We would absolutely book with Emily again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

We are so grateful for Alyssa! We can fully trust her not only with our precious Goose, but also with our home. She is extremely reliable, gentle, and compassionate—always treating Goose as if he were her own. It’s clear she understands that our fur babies are truly our children, and that kind of care means everything to us. I love receiving her photo updates and little check-ins while we’re away; they always bring us peace of mind. Alyssa completely eliminated our nerves and worries, and we couldn’t recommend her highly enough. Thank you, Alyssa, for being such a wonderful caregiver!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Peoria on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Peoria walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Peoria maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Peoria choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Peoria. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
