“Monica was GREAT! She showed up a few minutes early which I appreciated since it was our first meeting. She was organized and listened (without judgment) about my quirky Tibetan Terrier who has separation anxiety. She sent photos during the short visit, which wasn’t really necessary but showed her diligence and caring. Will definitely ask her back!”

“Tonya is amazing. My shy dog Lillie loved her from the minute they met. Tonya sent pictures regularly and my cat and dog looked happy and comfortable. I was able to enjoy my trip better without having to worry.”

“Chuck was amazing!! I felt 100% at ease with him watching my fur baby. He was, kind, prompt, and thorough. He always communicated and sent pictures. Such a great sitter! I’d recommend him to anyone!!”

“Dina did an outstanding job looking after my 2 dogs while I was on vacation! My dogs loved her and she made me feel perfectly at ease while I was gone. She has a wonderful personality and is very caring. I plan to have her help me with my dogs again soon!”

“We really appreciated the care our Rover sitter gave our two dogs while we were away overnight. He was available on short notice, responded promptly, and came by for a meet-and-greet very soon afterward, which we really appreciated. He communicated well throughout the stay and sent lots of pictures, giving us peace of mind while we were away. I had told him it was completely fine if he skipped our dogs' morning walk since we were only gone for one day, but he took them anyway, and I truly appreciated the extra effort. After we had already booked, I also asked if he could turn our leopard geckos' lights on and off, and he was happy to help with that as well. Most importantly, our two pups mean the world to us, so knowing they were well cared for gave us great peace of mind. They are an important part of our family, and we're very grateful for the excellent care and attention they received. Thank you, Jonathan!”
“Laura is so good at what she does! I appreciated the photo and video updates each day that we were gone, not only because I missed my fur babies, but it was obvious they were being loved on while I was away. They really loved having her with them, especially during several monsoon storms that blew through. The house was in order and clean when we got home. We will definitely be calling on Laura in the future. She was a blessing to our family!”

“Nikki is seriously the best!!! She watched our dogs over the 4th of July and she made our weekend so stress free knowing she was there carrying for them. She is always giving quick updates with pictures, makes sure they get lots of walks, and tons of snuggles. Highly recommend her. This is the 2nd time we have had her stay with our dogs and we are so grateful we found her!! Thanks so much Nikki!!”
“Annabella did an awesome job housesitting while I was away. She kept Phoebe engaged, sent pictures daily and even printed copies of photos for me. Upon my arrival home, Phoebe was happy and well taken care of. Thanks so much Annabella, definitely appreciate your help.”

“I can't say enough good things about Charis! She watched my two large, active dogs while I was away, and I was beyond impressed. From the moment I met her, I knew my pups were in great hands. She was clean, interactive, and genuinely engaged with them, making sure they got plenty of exercise and playtime. Throughout my trip, she kept me informed with updates and photos, which put my mind at ease. It’s clear she has a real passion for animals. I came home to happy, well-cared-for dogs, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter! Thank you, Charis!”

About: I have owned and cared for many animals since I was a kid and have professionally cared for animals for 3 years. I currently have 3 feline fur babies aged 12, 10, and 3 years old. One is special needs. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, and birds. This includes baby, special needs, and elderly animals of all sorts. Whatever needs your pets have, I can handle! I do have a semi-part time job as a server at a restaurant. I work 5-8 hour shifts about 25-35 hours a week. I work between the hours of 11am-9pm. I'm willing to work out scheduling with you and figure out how to best meet your pets needs! I cannot care for animals in my home due to owning 3 fur babies of my own and wouldn't want to stress them or your animals out. However I am able to come to your home or take them out to a park any time you need including overnights!
About: I am an experienced pet caregiver, and in another life I was a veterinary assistant. I now work from home, so I want to spread love and care to all pets big and small! As of right now I am available every day, including weekends, from early mornings to late nights. I have reliable transportation to and from your homes as needed or in case of any emergency. I can offer long walks and play time for your furry friends! I can work with both dogs and cats who require medications such as insulin, transdermal medications, any other oral medications and other special care during home visits and boarding situations. I do not have any breed restrictions and hope to see dogs of all shapes and sizes, and I can walk even the heaviest of dogs. I currently work full time from home. I have a fenced in backyard for potty breaks and easily accessible walking trails by my home that I love utilizing. I live in a 3 bedroom home with my partner and a roommate. We are all animal lovers and love to play. While I am the main caregiver in the home, I am in competition for main cuddler.

“Kalin did a great job with our babies! She was communicative the whole time with lots of comments and photos showing us what they were doing during the day. She was even able to get daily medicine into a less-than-cooperative cat. We would love to book Kalin the next time our babies need care.”

“Makena was awesome. My pups were well taken care of and my home was left better than she found it! She looked after my pups during a long road trip and made sure to give updates throughout so that I had one less thing to worry about. I would definitely recommend her if you are looking for someone to care for your pets and/or home.”

“Maddy was fantastic. She took phenomenal care of my dog Hope and the house. I was delighted to find a sketch of Hope that she did. It looked just like her. I framed it. I cannot recommend Maddy enough. She is a very loving and reliable young lady. I will definitely use her again.”

“We LOVED Regina - she was a godsend to us and our girls. Starting with the Meet and Greet, she took the time to get to know Foxy and Molly, ask in-depth questions, and learn what was important to us. Then, when it was time for the sit, she came over before I left for a smooth hand-off, and proactively updated us with pictures, videos, and commentary on how the girls were doing (at least twice daily). Our girls seemed perfectly at-ease with her and we would definitely rebook again.”

“Rachel did a wonderful job with my dog Ollie! She's a good listener so she understands pet owners needs. She provides frequent updates and she made me feel safe about leaving my baby. I would definitely recommend her.”

We really appreciated the care our Rover sitter gave our two dogs while we were away overnight. He was available on short notice, responded promptly, and came by for a meet-and-greet very soon afterward, which we really appreciated. We were honestly pretty nervous about using a dog sitter for the first time, especially since our house was a bit of a disaster before our weekend trip to Universal Studios. From the moment we met her, though, she made us feel completely comfortable and never made us feel judged or awkward about anything. She was absolutely amazing with our dogs — patient, caring, attentive, and clearly someone who truly loves animals. We got updates while we were away, and it was obvious our dogs were happy, relaxed, and very well cared for. By the end of the weekend, they absolutely adored her! It made such a huge difference being able to enjoy our trip knowing our dogs were in such good hands. We’re so grateful for the care she gave them and would absolutely trust her again in the future. Highly recommend!
Diego stayed at our house and took care of our 2 dogs for about a week and a half. Our dogs loved him! And he provided us regular pictures and updates everyday which we really appreciate. He was super responsive and followed everything we asked of him. Overall excellent dog sitter and will book with him in the future.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Surprise walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Surprise maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Surprise choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Surprise. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
