Our first time using Rover, and Lauren was fantastic! We don't live local & my sister who was watching our sweet, old Beagle mix needed some help in the morning before work. We met Lauren first to introduce her to Alice. She explained the process with Rover, we shared our wants and needs for Alice, and Lauren took notes to ensure she met our expectations. We received daily reports and pictures. We felt confident in Lauren and was relieved to have her helping while we were gone for 3 weeks. We'd definitely recommend her to others! Thanks Lauren for taking great care of our Alice.

Annamaria has been great! Charlie seems to really like her, and she’s been able to get him out of the house every visit so far - he can sometimes be a bit stubborn and refuse to get up lol. I’m very happy with the service so far, and definitely plan to continue having her work with Charlie.

About: I’ve had dogs and cats since 2011 and have been caring for them my whole life. Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me for years to check in on, feed, play with, and give personalized care to their pets. I’m comfortable with cats of all personalities as well as dogs — from energetic pups to calm seniors. I always make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for. As a recent college graduate, I have a very flexible schedule and am available most days and times, including evenings, weekends, and last-minute requests. I’m happy to provide drop-in visits, daily check-ins, or overnight sitting for both your cats and dogs at your home. I provide calm, loving, and reliable care in your home. Having grown up with both cats and dogs, I’m experienced at giving each pet the personalized attention they need — playtime and cuddles for cats, walks and enrichment for dogs, plus feeding, litter boxes, and medication if required. Your pets will be safe and well cared for while you’re away.

About: My husband and I grew up with all kinds of dogs and before having our own dog, and I cared for family and friends pets while they were out of town or needed help. I work night shift 3x/week and my husband works full time but is home every evening so your pet will always receive lots of love and attention. We have a fully fenced in yard for your dog to enjoy. Our home has plenty of space if you prefer your pet to be crated at night.

About: Hello STL pet parents! I am new to Rover but I've taken care of all ages, sizes, and various breeds of dogs since I was young, ranging from Chihuahuas to 110 lb Bouviers. My husband (former dog trainer) and I are the proud dog parents of two friendly rescue chihuahua mixes and we take them everywhere with us when we can and consider them to be our family. We have also had the privilege of caring for a rescue pittie who was skittish around other dogs at first, and a pug lab mix who never met a stranger. I nursed one of my current rescues through heartworm treatment after first adopting her and saw our pug lab mix through chemo when she was diagnosed with lymphoma. I take the care and love of dogs very seriously and believe we owe them the utmost respect. It would be my honor to apply that same philosophy of care and compassion (and fun!) with your beloved family member. I can be available any day of the week, though I prefer notice for weekends. Overall however I can be flexible! If the service is a walk I would prefer that to take place before 6:30 p.m. My yard is fenced in with a privacy fence and if I let dogs into the yard I am always out there with them the entire time. I have two small dogs who are friendly and enjoy gentle playing with others. I'm also comfortable visiting in your home or taking your doggo out on an adventure.

About: I have always had animals around me my whole life. My wife and I currently have two sweet cats and we see her families dog very often. I grew up walking my cousins dogs and am good with most any kind of animal! I am currently a full time student so I have lots of time and a flexible schedule for taking care of pets. I have two cats of my own and will be adding a puppy into the mix soon! I will treat your fur baby as if it were my own and not only take care of them while you are away but make sure to spend some good time making sure they are played with and loved.

About: I do not have any special skills. But I am definitely responsible when it comes to taking care of people's dogs. I have taken care of my family's dogs when they went away on vacations. I can walk or be a sitter every other Tuesday because that is my day off from my full time job. I can start after 11am. I can watch dogs in your home but prefer not to bring them to my home. I can also take them on walks every other Tuesday.

About: Hello! I am 19 years old and currently attend college. I have many years of pet care experience of various different animals since I was in elementary school. I enjoy hanging out and taking care of pets more than anything and I’d love to make sure your animals get genuine care that leaves them with the ability to live a long, happy, and healthy life! When I am home from college during spring break, summer, and winter break, my schedule is moderately flexible. I am able to fit in pet care whenever and have plenty of time to play with and take care of my cats and dogs every day. When I am at your home I will make sure it is a safe environment for the animals and that there is nothing they can be harmed by. I love going on walks at any time of the day as well as playing with the dogs or cats with toys, we can even work on some simple training together! Your pet will be safe, comfortable, happy, and healthy when they are in my care. :)

About: Hi, I’m Julia! With 6+ years of pet care experience—including two years at a dog daycare and training my own dog from puppyhood—I’m comfortable caring for puppies, seniors, anxious dogs, and any dog in between. I’m certified in both Pet CPR and Pet First Aid, and I will always tailor my care to your dog’s personality and routine. Whether that means stopping to smell every tree on a walk, respecting their space, or playing fetch until they’re happily worn out, your dog’s comfort comes first. Photo updates (and pup cups) are always included! I work part-time (often in the evenings) and have a flexible schedule with several days off per week, giving me plenty of time for walks, drop-in visits, and daytime care! My schedule allows me to be consistent and reliable for your pup. I’m currently fully booked for overnight stays and boarding through the rest of the summer, but I’m happy to help with daytime services in the meantime. I step into your dog’s routine so they feel comfortable and secure when I’m around. I provide calm, in-home care that matches their energy. We’ll play if they’re feeling active, take it slow when they’re not—I will always follow their comfort level! During overnight stays, I stick closely to your pup’s routine and make sure they’re comfortable throughout my visit. I always clean and tidy before leaving, so you come home to both a well cared-for space and dog.

About: I don’t currently have a fur baby of my own so I am looking to care for others’ furry family members. I will love, pamper and care for them as I would my own..... I am looking for long-term relationships, however I would be happy to fill in on a short-term, temporary basis as well. I have a fenced in yard and live close to many parks. If your pet needs one-on-one attention, I am willing to accommodate and only take in one family pet at a time. Your fur baby would get a lot of TLC and one-on-one attention. I have plenty of time in my life to care for and play with your furry family member. I have a fenced in yard. Live close to three nice parks-Carondelet, Jefferson Barracks, Lemay Park. Small dog park in the neighborhood. Lots of places to play nearby. I work part time outside the home. I will be gone for a maximum of five hour blocks when scheduled to work away from home. I have a fenced in yard. My home is very pet friendly. Many pet pillows and toys to choose from throughout the house. I am selective about treats I purchase for my guests. Puppers allowed to be on furniture if the owners are okay with that. I have Ring cameras to keep an eye on the fur babies when I’m away and love to share those videos with the family.

About: Hello! My name is Haley and I am excited to be able to help you in your pet care experience! I am a proud owner of two cats, a puppy and a snake. I have spent my life growing up around animals and training them as well. I know what love and care is needed for your animals as I will take care of them the same I would take care of mine. I have come to learn that patience, love and fun are the best qualities to have when caring for any animals. I will be sure to take the time and dedication that is needed to ensure your animal feels safe, loved and well taken care of while you are unavailable. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask! * I work with a flexible schedule, which allows me to consistently build pet care into my daily routine. * As a pet owner myself, animal care is already a major part of my everyday life. * I intentionally plan my schedule to give pets reliable attention instead of rushed drop-ins. * I prioritize: * Feeding and fresh water * Playtime and enrichment * Litter box cleaning and maintenance * Medication routines if needed * Quality interaction and companionship * I understand how important consistency and routine are, especially for cats adjusting to new people or schedule changes. * I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so pet care feels like a natural and rewarding part of my routine rather than an extra obligation. * I create a calm, safe, and low-stress environment for every pet in my care. * I follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding, medications, playtime, and comfort preferences. * I respect every animal’s personality and boundaries and never force interaction before they feel comfortable. * I pay close attention to behavior, appetite, energy levels, and overall wellbeing. * I keep litter boxes, feeding areas, and pet spaces clean and sanitary. * I double-check doors, gates, and safety concerns to help prevent escapes or stress. * I provide regular updates and photos so owners feel comfortable while away. * In clients’ homes, I treat both the pets and the space with care, cleanliness, and respect.

Elizabeth provided our family complete peace of mind when we were unable to give Tux his normal daily walks. We felt very comfortable knowing that she has experience with her own aging doggie with particular preferences. Elizabeth was able to get Tux into his harness for the walk and reward him his daily supplement treat. She always made sure he had fresh water and food before leaving. When we’re in need, we will be reaching out to Elizabeth again.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Wilbur Park. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

  • 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
