Camille was really great with housesitting our dogs for a few days! After our initial meet and greet, we could immediately tell she has a natural chemistry with animals and we felt very comfortable leaving them in her care. She was flexible with schedule changes and regularly sent super cute photo updates of the dogs. We will definitely be using her again if the need arises and would highly recommend her!

Our place was clean and I can't say enough about what she did for us. She would be a great house and dog sitter for you if you ever need to go on a trip and need your pup looked after!

Thank you Angelica for taking such good care of our Penelope! We had her house sit while we were away for a week. Super responsive and provided photo updates. Penelope loved her immediately during our meet and great! Also a plus, left our house as clean as we left it for her! Would definitely book again.

Another great day being able to go to work and know that my boys are in good hands with Jewel! She is communicative, punctual, and a natural with interacting with the dogs - not giving them too much attention when it would make them overexcited, and being very kind and affectionate when the time is right. I certainly recommend her to you.

About: I treat every dog like family. I'm energetic, dependable, and full of golden retriever energy, I'll keep your pup safe, active, loved, and happy every visit. I work a hybrid Monday–Thursday schedule, so I can provide walks before and after work. On weekends, I have plenty of time for extra walks, playtime, and cuddles. I love having animal companionship and making sure every pet feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I have a fenced yard where your dog will be able to run around. I also have a crate (if needed), water bowl, and feeding bowl for when your dog is staying over.

Lia was incredible! We have two dogs - one large Golden Retriever and one small Shiba Inu. She handled both of them perfectly, especially our Shiba who is very shy and scared of new people. She sent updates, pictures, kept our place incredibly clean and abided by all the house/dog rules. Will only be booking Lia again moving forward.

I especially appreciated that she took the time to meet our cat beforehand to learn how to administer his asthma inhaler. While we were away, she was attentive to all his needs and sent daily photos and updates. We returned to a clean and tidy apartment. Thank you so much, Razan!

About: Use my referral code to receive $20 off your first booking! CATHEL72941 https://www.rover.com/sit/cathel72941 I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 9 and love hanging out with all of them! It'd be awesome to spend some time with your dogs and cats! I have extensive pet care experience with my own and many of my friends and family's pets of all sizes and breeds and just love animals in general! I also have animal care experience at the Bronx Zoo. I love to scratch their heads, rub their bellies, play outside, practice some training, or just lounge at home with them. I am also very comfortable with large dog breeds. My bf Daniel loves cats and dogs as well and is always here to help care for your fur babies too so they’ll never be alone! Between Daniel and I, we are home 5-7 days a week. In my family’s house in Whitestone, someone is always home so your fur baby will never be alone! I have cared for 2 of my own German Shepherds over the span of 20+ years. Safety is my top priority. I have a very large fenced in yard and a very large crate available. I always make sure dogs are acquainted before introducing them off leash and am very careful on walks.

Emoni house sat our 4 pets over the holidays. She did a wonderful job! We have two cats and two dogs, and one of our dogs is a senior Great Dane who has mobility issues and needs daily medication. If you have a pet who is older and needs a little extra special care (multiple shorter walks, medication, help standing up, etc.), Emoni would be a great fit! Emoni stayed in our home and took amazing care of all of our pets. She was great at communicating with us on how each pet was doing, with daily updates and pictures! I definitely recommend Emoni for pet sitting, I felt totally at ease knowing that my pets were being well cared for by her!

Beverly responded to my request quickly, and was friendly from the start! She arrived right on time, was patient with my two guys who are a bit anxious these days because we were recently displaced from our home by a fire, and patiently listened to all my (also a bit anxious) instructions. She asked good questions, sent me some pics while I was away, and kindly took in a package that was delivered while I was gone. She took the boys out twice and all was well upon my return. The dogs were clearly comfortable with her, and I was grateful to leave them in the care of someone solid, grounded, and attentive. I highly recommend Beverly to house sit with your pooch(es).

About: I've cared for both dogs and cats my whole life-- I've never lived without a pet! I also have experience as a volunteer caretaker through my local animal shelter, and a deep passion for animal welfare and happiness. I work part-time and am a part-time student, so please check my calendar for availability. I have class from 4-9pm Tuesday & Wednesday and my work schedule is typically the day shift on Monday and Thursday. Again, if there are any deviances, I will mark them on the calendar! I'm happy to let your pet set the pace-- if they're a cuddle bug, I'll give them snuggles, and if they need some time to warm up, I'll sit quietly while they get used to me. If your puppy feels the need for speed, I'll take him on a sprightly jog, but if your senior prefers to take the scenic route, we can stop and sniff every tree. I'll listen to your instructions and preferences and theirs.

FAQs for House Sitting - Whitestone

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Whitestone on Rover is $30.13 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 19,086 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Whitestone. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whitestone walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whitestone maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whitestone choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whitestone. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
