About: Hello! I’m Megan, a dedicated and experienced house sitter based in New York City. Originally from sunny Southern California, I moved to NYC to pursue my love of musical theatre. When I’m not out auditioning, taking dance class, or hitting the rehearsal studio, you’ll usually find me lost in a great book, catching up on Marvel movies, planning my next trip to Disneyland, or out exploring the city and finding fun activities with friends. I’ve been house sitting and overnight pet sitting since 2022, and since moving to New York, it has been the absolute best way to supplement my creative life while giving me the flexibility to care for homes and pets with total dedication. I take pride in being exceptionally easy to work with, communicative, and respectful of your space. Whether it’s strictly following your household routines, keeping things sparkling clean, or making sure your pets feel safe, loved, and pampered while you're away, I've got you covered (and you can always count on plenty of cute photo updates!). To give you complete peace of mind while you're away, I offer a full variety of services to ensure your home and pets are exceptionally well cared for: • Pet Care & Feeding: Making sure your furry friends stay happy, healthy, and on their normal routine. • Mail Collection: Keeping an eye on your mail so it never piles up. • Plant Care: Ensuring your plants receive the exact attention and water they need. • Winter Maintenance: Providing snow clearing services during the winter months so you return to a safe, accessible home. General Upkeep: Managing trash and recycling to maintain a clean and tidy environment. My daily rate is $10. I’d love to chat, meet your furry family members, and answer any questions you might have. References are always available upon request—I look forward to helping you! I currently work part-time (4 days a week) at a restaurant in the city and my shifts are 7 hours long in the evenings, plenty of time during the day to hang out with your pets and also wind down with them in the evenings. I am able to fully stay with your pets each night of your booking and to house sit as well! Due to my condos rules, I am currently unable to offer my space for your pets but am happy to come to yours and stay!

“Michelle was absolutely great taking care of our little one and our home while we were gone for 13 days. She is a rare find and a truly calm, gentle soul. She definitely earned all her great reviews. We did a meet and greet first where she came to our home and we knew after that meeting that she was the one! Finding a great pet/house sitter is harder than it seems. So many on Rover don't really seem to understand the meaning of house sitting. It means you actually live in the house with the fur babies not leave every 4 hours and be gone all day. Rest assured Michelle will live in your house so your anxious fur baby remains in their comfort zone and routine. I work from home so I wanted to mimic that level of human presence that out little guy has become accustomed to and she was able to provide that. Michelle took care of little chores like watering plants and feeding our fish, but most importantly she took care of our little baby with plenty of play time and constant companionship. She was very responsive over messenger even though we were in another country. And when we came home the house was perfectly clean and in order. We highly recommend Michelle for pet/house sitting and we will certainly be using her again!”

About: From experience with my own dog and babysitting my friends' and family's pets, I've been called the pet whisperer by many. Without other ways to express this, many animals are naturally drawn to me. Even the grumpiest of pets have come under my ear scritches and ongoing cuddles. I've always been a big believer in leading with kindness in everything I do, and I feel like that has helped me grow close with all animals (and people!) I've encountered. I adopted my little baby at his 3 months, growing and learning his needs, and educating myself thoroughly to look for the non-verbal cues to better raise him. Now that he's grown to 3 years... I really still don't understand him all too much lol some of his actions are baffling. But he speaks to me whenever he needs anything and knows I will do everything to get where he needs me to be. I'm very flexible. If your fur baby needs activity, I can be their active partner. If they need some peace and quiet, I can be their silent partner. I will adjust my needs to their needs. Unfortunately, I am in office 8:30AM - 4:30PM every weekday, but I am usually free onward for the rest of the day, and most weekends to spend with the little ones. I make sure all pets in my care are safe, well fed, and comfortable as they wait for my arrival back home, then make sure to settle back into their routines. In my home: Pets in my home I spend a lot of time making sure they are properly acclimated to the environment. Being in a different and foreign environment can sometimes be stressful for pets that are use to be at home, so my first priority is their comfort. The pets that stay with me have their own room connected to mine, so it is easy to keep an eye on them, or play with them while working. The house is generally open for the animals to wander, but for overnight stays they have their own space. I also have a wide, open, gated front lawn with an extended side yard so the pets have enough space to roam around. Depending on what food your pet eats, I have no issues cooking for them if need be. In my client's home: I take care to make sure your pet is comfortable with having me in their space. It's their territory and I need to gauge how they react to me being there. Once that trust is established, I work around what your pets need. If your pet needs attention, I have zero to no issues giving all my love and affection. If your pet needs some space, I can share my love and affection from afar. I also work with your pet's schedules. I like to plan out feeding times, walks, play times, and mental stimulation throughout the day based on your pet's everyday routines.
