“The best Rover sitter I have had. Communicative, clean, great with Gertie, and an all around kind, responsible, and trustworthy person. Thank you Acacia! It means the world to me 🥰”

“Carrianne is the best!!! She is always keeping us in the loop with updates and pictures. She takes such good care of our pup and our home when we are out of town! Simply the best!!!❤️”

“Elizabeth is so fantastic with my dog Daisy! She has house sat for me numerous times, she sends pictures with an update everyday (which I love!), and I will definitely call her back again! Daisy loves her too! :-)”

“Jasmine was so great with our cat and dog. She was thoughtful and sent lots of updates and photos. She left our place spotless and was a wonderful guest and pet sitter!”

“I was away for 10 days in July, the longest I’ve ever left my dog, Miley. Once again, Carole was wonderful and was Max. Miley takes time to warm up to people and she’s great with Carole and Max—it’s a relief knowing that Miley is in such good hands!”

“Malissa is great, she's watched our high energy pitbull a few times now and does a great job. She sends good updates and has kept our place and pup in great shape.”

About: I don't actually call myself that, that's what my friends say I am. I've literally never met a dog I didn't get on famously with. I respect the fact that they are individuals with their own needs. I don't mean to sound too self assured with the title, but I earned it from friends. Whether it's running on the Lake Michigan shore or just finding a nice sunny spot to sit for a while, your pup is going to have a fulfilling day. I have huge flexibility so no worries! A last minute trip or planned weeks in advance, we can work something out. I'm here for you! Even same day! I strive for communication as much as possible between animal and human. If they're not feeling like socializing, I don't force anything. Everyone has different needs. My experience in a dog daycare really helped me read and understand dog body language to head off any issues that may arise when you're watching 12 dogs.
“Rachel is a wonderful dog/house sitter! She’s so good with Allie and gave her all the love and attention as if she was her own! Strong communication and pictures were the highlight of our experience! Can’t wait to have you over again! A+++++++ ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

“Madeline house sat for me for over a week and did a great job with my timid Chihuahua and Cat. She gave me daily updates and handled their daily routine and activity needs effortlessly. My dog who's slow to warm up to new people was actually sad to see her leave by the end of the sitting period. Highly recommended.”

“Jackie was so wonderful in helping take care of our cat and dog while we were away for a week! She’s incredibly kind, and it was clear that our animals took to her almost immediately. Jackie spent some time at our house during the week to keep our cat company, while our dog slept at her house. We came back to our home looking just as we left it. Highly recommend an would use again in a heartbeat!”

“Ashley took absolutely excellent care of our cat while we were out of the country for a week! I knew from the moment she met our cat during our meet and greet that our little girl was going to be in great hands. Throughout the trip, Ashley reached out with check-ins and photos reflecting how well she was being taken care of. She also responded quickly to any messages and went above and beyond watching our place. We (and our cat) look forward to seeing her again in the future!”

“Elizabeth took amazing care of our dog Layla while we were away. She kept us updated with sweet messages and photos, and we could tell Layla was happy and well-loved the whole time. We came home to a relaxed, content pup — we couldn’t ask for more! Highly recommend Elizabeth and would absolutely book with her again.”

“Keisha was amazing!! She sent lots of updates on our dog and spent really good time with her the whole 5 day trip. She was in such good hands and we would DEFINITELY use her again! Thank you!!”

“Jackie stayed in our house with our dog for the weekend and she was great. Our husky Zero is our baby and a bit particular sometimes but she took it all in stride. She sent pictures throughout the weekend and reached out when she had questions. We also tried to make the house nice and neat for her time here and when she left we were wondering if she actually touched anything it was still so clean! We highly recommend Jackie and plan on booking her in the future when we're away for any extended amount of time.”

“Amanda was amazing! I was worried our pets wouldn't want us to come home. She was very attentive, timely, did more than asked and was very patient with our crazy bunch. I highly recommend her!”

“Another great experience with Travis! Travis walked Izzy and stayed in our home while we were out of town on vacation, and his regular updates on how Izzy was doing left us feeling secure that she and our home were in good hands. He even helped us with watering a couple plants we forgot about! Travis is patient and understanding with our long set of instructions for Izzy's care. Always a good experience with Travis”

“Rebecca was phenomenal with my little critters! Excellent communication throughout the week and she was able to adjust last minute to needing to give my dog extra TLC and medication. I highly recommend her for your pet-sitting needs!”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Whitefish Bay is $50

Carrianne was a blessing when we first found her after our original dog sitter backed out. At the time, we had two dogs, one elderly dog with more needs and one young 2 year old pup. The first meet and greet when great. She completely understood our elderly dog's needs with mobility and was prepared to take care of both of our dogs when we would be gone for a week. Shortly before our trip, our elderly dog passed. Carrianne was open to another visit with just our younger dog and that went just as well. Unfortunately, we couldn't anticipate how our pup would be when we were gone and not have her buddy with her. Carrianne approached the unexpected behaviors with compassion and understanding, which is all we could ask for. She communicated frequently and was open to any problem solving solutions that would make our pup feel comfortable. She was open to working with our neighbor to give our puppy what she needed in the time of a big life transition for here, with unexpected/unanticipated behaviors while we were gone. If you are looking for someone who understands dogs and dogs needs, I highly recommend Carrianne.

This was our second time having Nikki watch our dog for a three night stay, and everything went great as usual. My dog was expertly cared for, walked twice/day, fed and loved. My house was cleaner than we left it! Will definitely hire Nikki again she was great and kept in communication with us during our trip. Thanks again, Nikki!

Travis took incredible care of our two dogs and handled a genuinely chaotic situation with so much calm and flexibility. The night before we left, our AC failed during a heat wave. While we were stuck across the country juggling an HVAC company and a landlord who wasn’t prioritizing the issue at all, Travis kept the dogs safe, comfortable, and monitored. He checked in regularly so we knew how they were doing, and he adjusted his schedule so repairs could be made. His support made a huge difference for our peace of mind during a very stressful situation for us and I’m sure him. One of our dogs is anxious, skittish, and extremely high‑energy, and Travis did an amazing job letting her warm up at her own pace while still getting her out for consistent walks. Both dogs were well cared for the entire stay. We’re so grateful for how he handled everything and will absolutely book with him Again. Thank you Travis!

First time user of Rover, and we love Sydney! Our dogs loved her, which one of our dogs is not a fan of strangers. But he approved so much that he jumped up and cuddled next to her immediately. Which DOES NOT happen! She was thorough with asking questions. We will be using Sydney again!

Laura was absolutely wonderful and my dog, Rocky, seemed very happy to be with her while we were gone! I reached out to Laura last minute when my other arrangement fell through. We squeezed in two meet and greets within a week just to be sure Rocky was a good fit for her and vice versa. She took notes and really listened to all of the info I shared about Rocky’s needs, quirks, etc. I felt very confident in leaving him with Laura and having her stay at our home. She sent a daily update with a few photos each day, and Rocky was happy as a clam playing, snuggling, and walking to the park with her. I highly recommend Laura and plan to have her stay with Rocky again later this summer!

Marilia was wonderful! Our cat, Zoe, was clearly in highly experienced, responsible, and caring hands. Marilia kept in close touch with any questions that came up and send regular updates. The entire experience gave us great peace of mind and we hope to hire Marilia for future cat-care needs.

Jackie was so wonderful in helping take care of our cat and dog while we were away for a week! She’s incredibly kind, and it was clear that our animals took to her almost immediately. Jackie spent some time at our house during the week to keep our cat company, while our dog slept at her house. We came back to our home looking just as we left it. Highly recommend an would use again in a heartbeat!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whitefish Bay walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whitefish Bay maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whitefish Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
