“Abby was absolutely amazing! Sent me multiple updates with pictures throughout the night and made us feel very confident with him. She attentive and caring, especially with our little 12 wk old! She left our home in better shape than it was before she came. Could not recommend more!”

“Tegra made me feel comfortable with leaving my senior pup. She provided photos and communicated with me when the many times I reached out to check in on Tedi. I came home to a happy pup!”
“We hired Cynthia to house sit for our dog, cat, and chickens for over a week. She did a great job! She spent a ton of time at the house, sent consistent updates, and took great care of our babies. We had our outgoing flight delayed by over a day, and Cynthia was flexible and understanding.”

“Paul took great care of our two puppies while we were on vacation! He sent multiple updates daily with pictures, and they were extremely well cared for. We never had to worry about them, and we were able to enjoy our vacation! I would leave my pets with Paul anytime!!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats ever since I can remember. I have been in charge of feeding/walking to bathing and playing with animals. I always have 3 day weekends! This means you can go on your weekend getaway and I'll give your fur baby all the attention they need! I treat every animal as my own. I will never put them in a harmful situation. In my own home, I have ample space for them to run and play. In the clients home, I am respectful of their rules and will treat their pet as well as they do!

About: I pet it all of my phones and families dogs whether it’s from short visits to letting the dogs outside to go potty or overnight stays. I have been doing this for over two years now, but it’s been a lot more frequent over the past two years. I have always loved dogs. In fact I have two big dogs one purebred German Shepherd and the other dog is a great Pyrenees mix. I am working with Rover now because I’m trying to be able to afford an apartment for myself and just take care of my basic necessities. I know how well I will want my dogs taken care of if I needed a sitter so I try to provide that same care to my clients! I can usually make any time work as best for you. I don’t have a full-time job. It should be my primary job right now. I can do anything you need me to do. Feeding the dogs, letting them out to go potty, taking them to play, taking them on a walk, etc.
“Megan was wonderful with our cat Leo! She cared for him and our home like they were here own. She sent plenty of picture and videos and didn’t hesitate to reach out with questions to make sure Leo got the best care possible. We look forward to working with Megan again!”

“Cally was great! We booked her for the first time last minute and she was very accomodating and made the time to get an introductory visit in. She sent pictures, asked questions when she had them and gave our dog great care!”

“Abby did a great job taking care of Levi! She was very kind, communicative, and kept us updated throughout the stay with photos and messages, which we really appreciated. It gave us peace of mind knowing Levi was in good hands.”

“Joe was great with our Fifi, he was really a lifesaver! He stayed at our house as our rescue dog can be a little clingy. I received the cutest pictures and was really able to enjoy myself on vacation knowing she was at home!”

“Ava is super sweet & came over to meet our pup before house sitting. She was attentive to our directions & took good care of our pup. He liked her immediately! We knew he was in good hands! She even watered my plants. If anything, a few more details about his day & how long his walks were would have been good, but we would definitely hire Ava again if we have to go out of town.”

About: Animals have always been a part of my life. They show us so much love. Who are we not to give it back in return. Since the passing of our long time dog (Roc,15) we’ve been watching our friends and family dogs while they’re out of town. In each case the owners return with their dogs a little hesitant about wanting to return home. LOL. I work from home and I have no plans of switching to another job that would require me to go into the office. Therefore, I have plenty of time to play with your big and little babies. I also like to take walks at minimum twice a day. This is a perfect time for your fur babies to stretch their legs. After a nice long walk I clean their paws to make sure they leave the yucky stuff outside. I have a designated area where they can sleep. However, I like to keep them close to me during the day while I’m working. I think it sets them up for a positive visit. They immediately become part of the family. I also have the flexibility to take them out throughout the day. There is a highly recommended veterinarian within a two minute driving distance and maybe a ten minute walk in the event of an emergency.
About: I’ve been around animals ever since I was young! I’ve always wanted to take care of animals and now I want to do more than what there needs are. I work with animals about everyday, so I have worked with them more. I love getting to know each individual pet as I’m learning more! I’m willing to come check in on them every 4-8 hours and care for what they need done including feeding, potty breaks and walks if needed
“Courtney was amazing! Absolutely wonderful with all of our fluffies and you can tell they Super care about them. Many sitters just do the bare minimum but Courtney spent time with them, took care of medicine, played with them, etc… and did not just watch TV all day sitting like we have had others do. If you want someone who takes care to help your fluffies feel comfortable while you are away, we recommend Courtney.”

“Rayanna was such a great dog sitter to Mabel, our sweet but a little anxious goldendoodle. This is the first time we have had an in home sitter for a week and Rayanna was great. Mabel was well taken care of and Rayanna was easy and fast to communicate with while we were away. I personally was so nervous to leave Mabel for a week, but I had no worries while we were away. Rayanna was great! We will definitely use her again”

“I simply do not know what we would have done without Mary. She has faithfully and with care taken care of our Kikki cat while we were away for days at a time getting medical care for my husband. I do know she will do her best for you, and she will send pictures so you can rest easy that all will is well at home.Kikki was relaxed and calm each time we returned.”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life and love them so much that I decided to work at a Dog and Cat daycare and boarding facility. I’ve been working there for 3 years and have worked with all breeds and ages varying from puppies to seniors and love comforting them and making them happy while also making sure their parents know they are in good hands! I’m currently working part-time and my availability is flexible. I’m willing to make adjustments as long as I am notified at least 2-3 weeks in advance. Depending on the typical routine of the pet, I will follow it as close as possible to make them feel as comfortable as I can. I will keep them busy by going on walks or by playing with them, or if they have lower energy I’ll just make sure to give them extra attention.
“Amanda was amazing! I was worried our pets wouldn't want us to come home. She was very attentive, timely, did more than asked and was very patient with our crazy bunch. I highly recommend her!”

“Heather was so sweet and understood our animals are our family. She sent pictures throughout her stay which really put my mind at ease. We will book Heather again for the future!!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Granville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Granville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Granville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Granville. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
