“I loved Alyssa's help taking care of my dog Tango. She did everything I asked her to do. She was very responsible and my dog Tango loved her. During my trip, she sent me photos of Tango's walks with her in the park. 100% recommended.”

“Carrianne is the best!!! She is always keeping us in the loop with updates and pictures. She takes such good care of our pup and our home when we are out of town! Simply the best!!!❤️”

“The best Rover sitter I have had. Communicative, clean, great with Gertie, and an all around kind, responsible, and trustworthy person. Thank you Acacia! It means the world to me 🥰”

“Emily was great at communicating with us the entire stay, and we could tell from all her updates and pictures that our pups loved having her around. Our flight ended up getting delayed because of the blizzard rolling through Wisconsin this past weekend, and Emily was able to help make sure our pups were let out and fed while we figured out how to get back to Milwaukee. I would absolutely recommend Emily to anyone else looking for expert and friendly care for their pups on Rover. Thank you again!”

“It was our second time hiring Elizabeth, another positive experience. My pooch likes his walks and we are grateful she is ok with taking him. She is great with giving updates and sending photos. Upon return the house was just as we left it.”

About: I don't actually call myself that, that's what my friends say I am. I've literally never met a dog I didn't get on famously with. I respect the fact that they are individuals with their own needs. I don't mean to sound too self assured with the title, but I earned it from friends. Whether it's running on the Lake Michigan shore or just finding a nice sunny spot to sit for a while, your pup is going to have a fulfilling day. I have huge flexibility so no worries! A last minute trip or planned weeks in advance, we can work something out. I'm here for you! Even same day! I strive for communication as much as possible between animal and human. If they're not feeling like socializing, I don't force anything. Everyone has different needs. My experience in a dog daycare really helped me read and understand dog body language to head off any issues that may arise when you're watching 12 dogs.
About: Animals have always been a part of my life. They show us so much love. Who are we not to give it back in return. Since the passing of our long time dog (Roc,15) we’ve been watching our friends and family dogs while they’re out of town. In each case the owners return with their dogs a little hesitant about wanting to return home. LOL. I work from home and I have no plans of switching to another job that would require me to go into the office. Therefore, I have plenty of time to play with your big and little babies. I also like to take walks at minimum twice a day. This is a perfect time for your fur babies to stretch their legs. After a nice long walk I clean their paws to make sure they leave the yucky stuff outside. I have a designated area where they can sleep. However, I like to keep them close to me during the day while I’m working. I think it sets them up for a positive visit. They immediately become part of the family. I also have the flexibility to take them out throughout the day. There is a highly recommended veterinarian within a two minute driving distance and maybe a ten minute walk in the event of an emergency.
“As always, Keisha did a wonderful job taking care of my little fur babies! She made sure my walk-crazy dog had many miles under his belt, snuggled my velcro cat, and sent many photos along the way! Not to mention, she did the dishes and made sure my home was clean :) will absolutely book again!”

“Catherine did a wonderful job house sitting. She took attentive care of our two dogs and cat. She provided great updates and our dogs looked so happy in every picture. We had total peace of mind with Catherine watching our home.”

“Rachel is a wonderful dog/house sitter! She’s so good with Allie and gave her all the love and attention as if she was her own! Strong communication and pictures were the highlight of our experience! Can’t wait to have you over again! A+++++++ ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

“Jessica was great! Super communicative and sent lots of pictures! My boys are a handful and don't like strangers, so if she can handle them she can handle any high maintenance pups!”

“Ashley was So responsive and Wonderful with my boys! Thankful she was able to watch them in their house!! Will definitely book again if she is willing to watch them!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Glendale
We ( and our girl Daisy) love having Yacob as a house/ dog sitter! He always does a great job taking care of her, is attentive to her needs and available when we check in with him. We always feel confident that Daisy is in great hands with Yacob when we are gone!

Laura was absolutely wonderful and my dog, Rocky, seemed very happy to be with her while we were gone! I reached out to Laura last minute when my other arrangement fell through. We squeezed in two meet and greets within a week just to be sure Rocky was a good fit for her and vice versa. She took notes and really listened to all of the info I shared about Rocky’s needs, quirks, etc. I felt very confident in leaving him with Laura and having her stay at our home. She sent a daily update with a few photos each day, and Rocky was happy as a clam playing, snuggling, and walking to the park with her. I highly recommend Laura and plan to have her stay with Rocky again later this summer!

Marilia was wonderful! Our cat, Zoe, was clearly in highly experienced, responsible, and caring hands. Marilia kept in close touch with any questions that came up and send regular updates. The entire experience gave us great peace of mind and we hope to hire Marilia for future cat-care needs.

Jackie was so wonderful in helping take care of our cat and dog while we were away for a week! She’s incredibly kind, and it was clear that our animals took to her almost immediately. Jackie spent some time at our house during the week to keep our cat company, while our dog slept at her house. We came back to our home looking just as we left it. Highly recommend an would use again in a heartbeat!

Julia was an awesome companion for my pup, Malakai, today. She arrived on time, sent me several photos and updates throughout the day, and followed all my instructions for Malakai's care. He seemed to really enjoy his time with Julia and I would definitely use her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 1,221 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Glendale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Glendale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Glendale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Glendale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Glendale. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
