Safety, trust & environment
I will treat your home and pet(s) in my care as if I were taking care of my own pet(s). I will do everything I can to make sure your family pets are comfy, cozy and safe.
Information Melissa M. would like to know about your pet
When we set up a Rover Meet and Greet I will go over all details you would like to share. I would like to know how to give the best care possible and anything else important in your furry (feathery, scaly) friend's daily life. Please tell me your cat or dog's temperament. Timid? Independent? Laid back? Aggressive? Sensitive? Very playful? Have they ever bitten someone? Nervous around new people? Is your cat an escape artist? The timing of feeding, special feeding instructions. Filtered or tap water. Locations if more than one water is provided. Does your dog lunge or pull seeing other dogs, people, squirrels, birds etc., My number one concern will always be safety, giving your friend companionship while you are away is very important to me as well. Your animal friends miss you and you miss them. I understand leaving for even a short time is difficult for both of you. I make sure I take pictures and videos as well written communication on how things are going each day at each visit.
A typical day
I will do what is preferred by the owner. Does your dog prefer a long walk on sidewalks? Grass? How do they feel about snow and rain? Is your dog geriatric, they needs fresh air and a walk, but a shorter/slower one? Maybe your dog likes time in the sun on a balcony or deck but isn't a fan of walks. Snuggles on the couch? Does your dog have special toys for fetch? Do they like to be tucked in with a special blanket for a nap? I am happy to meet the needs of your dog. Is your cat happy to be petted or brushed? Do they have special toys? Does your cat enjoy walks, cuddles on laps? Does your cat warm up slowly to new people? Do they hide and rarely come out for visitors?

Reviews
Melissa is very knowledgeable and experienced, and kind. And oh, yeah, loves animals!

Melissa is a wonderful dog sitter and I can’t recommend her enough. She treated our pup as if he was her own and was very communicative with me throughout her visits. Looking forward to working with her again ☺️

Melissa was such a detailed, thoughtful sitter for my cat. She provided helpful daily updates on how my cat was doing and what they did during her drop-in visits. She also sent many pictures and videos! My skittish gal warmed up to Melissa very quickly, and seems to have really enjoyed their time together.

Melissa is absolutely the best! She loves our dog and always takes wonderful care of her when we are away.
