“Emily did a great job watching my pups, and chickens. Easy and quick communication, she took the pups on some adventures as well. Highly recommend her and would use her again.”

About: I’ve been looking after fluffy frens of all shapes and sizes from a young age. My time doing a full house/dog sitting gig was for my grandparents and their French bulldog, Sugar (miss you, Sugs!). Since then I have been the go-to for my friends and family for taking care of their for legged family. I make sure your fury family gets the love and care they need, whether you just have one smol dog or a pack of greyhounds. I currently had a stretch of rough health luck, but my ails are your pups gain! I’m currently on the mend, and it’s going well, but between jobs, so my schedule is wide open. I’ll have the time to give your pups the TLC they deserve! Currently unavailable to board pets at my house, but I will make sure to treat all pets in a safe and caring way. I’ll treat them like a newborn baby, because hey, in a way they are!
“Keisha took such great care of our two French bulldogs that are not exactly the easiest. She also did a great job trouble shooting some unanticipated situations like transportation issues and getting locked out — we will 100% use her again.”

“Ivy was a fantastic sitter. Super communicative, thoughtful, and loving to our dogs. She made sure they were loved and cuddled while we were away. We look forward to having Ivy stay with them again in the future!”

“Emily was prompt, respectful, and communicative. She sent pictures and updates and my dog seemed very comfortable and calm when I returned. I highly recommend Emily and will happily book her again in the future if I need a dog sitter!”

“Lexi was great with my particular and somewhat shy senior dog. We planned drop-ins prior to the full weekend, which worked great for Lexi and my Coco to get to know each other a little. Lexi is very responsive and gave updates. I will feel more comfortable taking trips and time away with Lexi caring for my girl!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Maiah and would absolutely recommend her. Our beagle can be a bit high-maintenance, but Maiah was so great with her. It gave us peace of mind knowing our pup was in trustworthy, kind, and capable hands. Maiah was also an excellent communicator--we received regular updates, photos, and quick responses, which made it easy to relax while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!”

“Scott really helped us out with a week of drop-in visits for our two dogs, one of which is rather unpleasant with strangers. He also agreed to oversee our coop of chickens which was very helpful. Scott was accomodating and generally a good communicator, and the pups seemed to like him. I think he did a fine job. We would definitely work with Scott again.”

“We have high energy dogs. Jeremy came over ahead of time for a meet and greet so they could get to know him. That was important because one of our dogs will nip if he doesn’t know you. He needs that introduction. They both took to him and snuggled in for Jeremy’s stay.”

“Madelyn was a great sitter. She communicated well with me and sent photos of my dachshund so that I could check in with my baby. Very easy to book, does a meet a greet in advance to make things easier!”

“Beth did a fantastic job! Great communication and very responsive. She successfully got our stubborn dog to go for walks and was very attentive. She left our home spotless. We would definitely have her stay in the future.”

“Alex is great with animals, respectful, kind, caring and compassionate. She is great with communication and made me feel like my pets were being well cared for. Highly recommend!”

“Angela did a great job making my dog feel comfortable while I was not home, My little dog is very afraid of storms and Angela was great at staying with her and making her feel as comfortable as possible during the storms. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wauwatosa
Kelsey watched our dog for a long weekend, and we couldn’t have asked for better care. Even though she was working through an injury, she still took amazing, thoughtful care of our boy from start to finish. She could have very easily canceled, which I’ve unfortunately had happen with another sitter before, but instead she found solutions to make everything work, and we were so grateful for that. She kept us updated, treated our home with so much respect, and left everything spotless. Most importantly, we came home to a very happy, content pup. Kelsey went above and beyond, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!

I have nothing but great things to say about Scott! From arranging our initial meet and greet to caring for our dog while we vacationed for a week, he was nothing short of amazing. Scott proved himself professional, kind, flexible, communicative with us, and patient with our reactive dog. Though our dog was thrilled to see us when we came to pick her up, she seemed equally sad to leave Scott which is a VERY big deal for her. I would not hesitate to rehire Scott or recommend him to others!

Wow! What can I say? Margaret exceeded every expectation I had for Uecker’s care today! As a new puppy mom who’s only had him for three weeks, leaving him with someone for the first time was a little nerve-wracking. But Margaret made me feel completely at ease. She didn’t just watch him—she played with him, loved on him, reinforced the commands we’ve been working on, and treated him like he was her own. The best part? Walking through the door and finding Uecker snuggled up right next to her. My heart absolutely melted. It was obvious he felt safe, loved, and completely comfortable. I truly couldn’t be happier with the care Margaret provided. Book her before I do, because with my busy schedule, I’ll definitely be calling her again! Thank you so much, Margaret. Uecker already adores you, and so do I!

Maggie did a wonderful job with Morgan & Frankie. She arrived when asked and even stayed longer then planned due to a flight delay. I received pictures and the dogs seemed happy and at ease. She said they were well behaved-everything a dog Mom wants to hear. She will help us again in a few days and I have total confidence they are in good hands and they will be happy to see her. I highly recommend her.

I can’t recommend Nicole highly enough! She takes wonderful care of my senior cat, who’s gotten a bit needier in his older years, and she goes above and beyond every time. Her communication is fantastic — she sends regular photo updates, so I always know my cat (and home) are in good hands. You can tell she’s genuinely bonded with him and enjoys their time together, which gives me so much peace of mind while I’m away. Her communication is fantastic — she sends regular photo updates, so I always know my cat (and home) are in good hands. She’s trustworthy, reliable, and treats my house with real care and respect. I’d absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for cat sitter!!

Ivy was the absolute best person to watch our blue heeler, Ringo! We had never left him with anyone other than family before, but Ivy made us feel so calm and confident, sending updates every day and taking Ringo on so many fun adventures. We felt so relieved knowing he was in such good hands and having the time of his life while we were away for 10 days. Words can’t express how grateful we are that our fur baby was so well-loved and taken care of💖

As with last time, everything was perfect! Amazing communication throughout the stay. Sharing everything from updates on our moody dog’s tummy issues to funny anecdotes! Even our most shy cat deems Emily a quality caretaker! So much so that he makes his presence known and allow for pets!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Wauwatosa on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,331 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wauwatosa. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wauwatosa walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wauwatosa maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wauwatosa choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
