“Ilene was great! We have a foster cat in quarantine with an infection and wanted someone to spend time with him while we were out of town. Ilene was able to give him some quality time and attention, he was a happy camper. The updates we got were good and the photos were perfect. Thank you!”

“We have never used a service like this before and were apprehensive but Travis was excellent with our pups!! He sent us photos and was a pleasure to work with. Will def be asking for his services again!!”

About: I have had experience caring for many different kinds of animals throughout my life, such as dogs, horses, guinea pigs, and fish. I am comfortable and confident with walking, feeding, bathing, etc. I am a full-time grad student, and I also work a part-time job. My schedule is a little different each weekday, sometimes with breaks in the middle of the day. I am available all day, every other weekend. I do not currently care for any pets in my home. I am not currently accepting jobs that require a pet to stay in my home.
“Melissa dropped in to check on my 2 cats for four days. She was kind, dependable and responsible which gave me peace of mind, especially considering one of my cats is elderly and needs daily medication.”
“This was our first booking with Carrianne. She was great! She asked good clarifying questions during our meet and greet to make sure she fully understood how to care for our kitty, and was reliable and timely during the booking. We fully trusted her to take care of our anxious cat. We would love to book with her in the future!”

“Kyleigh was fantastic with Charlie for his drop in and walk! Played ball and took him for a long walk. Kyleigh was highly professional and very communicative. We will continue to use her going forward as our golden loves his time with her!”

“I can’t speak highly enough of Vicki! Every day we got a little update on how our cat was doing, and it was much appreciated. Vicki clearly got to know her, paid attention to her idiosyncrasies, and enjoyed playing with her and taking care of her. She not only cleaned our cat’s random messes, but apparently the remains of some creature that was eaten right outside the door… that would not have been a fun thing to come home to… As luck would have it, our street got flooded while we were gone. Vicki sent daily reports and pics about the water level in the yard and the basement condition. She was ready to move things as needed (thankfully it was not needed). Finally, she was worried we might be getting home a bit too late on the last day, so paid an extra visit to our furry one without being asked. In short, I recommend Vicki 100% and will definitely use her services again! Thanks Vicki!”

“Grace wonderful to work with! Absolutely would book her again. She’s was very quick to respond, kept us updated and stayed longer knowing our kitten needed extra attention. Recommending her to anyone!”

“Jan was great!! Super friendly- sent me pictures of Milo. I will definitely schedule again with her and recommend her to anyone looking for a cat sitter! Thanks:)”

About: I'd love to hang out with your dog on a walk, while I work from home (or your home!), or play with toys during a drop in check in. I work from home so I can be flexible on potty breaks. I work from home, so happy to give your pup potty breaks, walks, and play time on a flexible schedule. I'm available for morning walks also! I have two friendly small dogs, but can keep them separate if you prefer. I will keep your pup in my office with me while I work, and that will be their dedicated space. They are welcome to lay on a big dog bed or my guest bed with me while I work. They also will have access to the sun room and can watch all the rabbits and squirrels in our back yard. If you are comfortable with them being around my dogs we can also let them have run of my house while I'm at home. Your dog can be kept in a separate room by themselves with a bed and water bowl if I need to step away for a minute or they are welcome to stay in my office and lounge on the bed. I can also crate small <20 lb dogs if you prefer. For larger dogs, a crate will need to be provided. For small or older dogs, we have a small fenced yard (about 200 sq ft, fence about 3.5 ft high).
“Whitney was awesome with the two cats. The two cats were very comfortable with her. Nick and Sam can be challenging and Whitney kept us informed with clear communication. She was very caring towards the cats. I will definitely ask her to care for Nick and Sam again!”

About: From family pets, growing up on a farm, pet sitting in college, to multiple years taking care of animal ambassadors as a naturalist, I've been working with and caring for critters of all sorts for nearly as long as I can remember! For critters in the pet category, I have been caring for indoor cats since 2018, from kittens to seniors and every stage in between, including administering medications. My family has had medium/large dogs (rottweilers, labs, and border collie and boxer mixes) my whole life but I have also pet sat for smaller breeds like Boston terriers and cavalier king Charles spaniels. My time as a naturalist gave me experience working with not only varied species, but varied personalities. From grumpy skunks to mischievous snakes and dramatic birds, I have extensive experience across the gambit. It also provided experience with very specific care instructions and detailed documentation. I like to provide pet parents with a thorough summary of my time with their pet so they don't have to worry while they're away. My schedule varies week to week from periods of no availability to periods of open availability, I will make sure to keep things updated so you know what to expect! In fall of 2025, I finished my 2,200+ mile thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. What does that mean for pet care? I LOVE to walk and do so whenever I get the chance! I would love to have your pet join me! I am very detail oriented and will follow your care instructions to a T! I also provide my pet parents a detailed summary of my visit for peace of mind, every time!
About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was 10. I have a golden retriever now and love all kinds of dogs. I grew up around dogs my whole life so I am very comfortable with them! I have 3 years of experience in dog walking as well as housesitting. I’m currently in college but my class schedule is light this semester and I am available the whole week. At home I have a golden retriever who I walk three times a day, morning, evening and night. At my house I have a fenced in backyard but I also like to take my dog for long walks as well. I am comfortable walking dogs long distances.
About: I've taken care of dogs for around 5 years now and I enjoy taking them out on walks. I find dog walks calming and can take several hour long walks if needed. What I love to do best on my breaks is spend time with my dog, giving him walks. So I always have plenty of time to take care of pets. I can easily cater to your dog's needs when it comes to walks and house sitting. Just tell me how to typically take care of your dog and I'll do exactly that.
About: For 5 years, I’ve cared for a foster cat I adopted, looked after 3 senior cats—including giving medication—and am experienced with home visits to feed and play. I’m looking to spend my days off walking and playing with pets! With an open schedule, I love taking frequent walks around town and would be thrilled to have a furry companion join me for some fun and exercise. I’m available most days of the week and ready to help your pet get moving! While I don’t offer pet sitting in my own home, I’m dedicated to respecting your pet’s routine and following your guidelines to provide the best care possible in your home.

Angela was wonderful! She treated our puppies with so much love and care during her drop-in visit. She spent quality time playing with them, giving them lots of hugs and attention, and it was clear she genuinely enjoys being around dogs. She was also very accommodating, responsive, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. We felt completely at ease knowing our puppies were in such caring hands. We would absolutely book Angela again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter!

Jessica was great with my German shepherd, my dog has been going through some health issues and when I went out of town for 4 days I needed someone to come take care of her 3 times a day and mix up her special food, take her for walks and monitor her potty breaks. Jessica was also super flexible with the timing of her visits and made this potentially stressful time super easy for me and my dog. 5 stars. Would reccomend her to anyone.

Hanna did an amazing job caring for our two cats while we were away on vacation. She was incredibly reliable, communicated regularly, and sent plenty of photos that gave us peace of mind while we were gone. It was clear our cats were well cared for and comfortable in her hands. This was our second time booking with Hanna, and we will absolutely be booking with her again in the future. Highly recommend!

Isaac is THE best cat sitter. My cat Sweets is always excited when he comes and visits when I have to go away for work or vacation. He’s super efficient, reliable and takes such great care of her each time he drops in to check on her. Highly recommend booking with Isaac!

Bria was great with our dog Mallie! We really appreciated her picking up a last minute request from us & taking the time to meet Mallie beforehand. She communicated quickly and left detailed feedback on her visit while we were out, which gave us peace of mind that our baby was in good hands. Will definitely be working with Bria again!!

Whitney was awesome with the two cats. The two cats were very comfortable with her. Nick and Sam can be challenging and Whitney kept us informed with clear communication. She was very caring towards the cats. I will definitely ask her to care for Nick and Sam again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
