About: I have 2+ experience as a vet assistant in general practice and ER. I have a lifetime of animal care experience with a wide variety of animals including cats and exotics. I know how important it is to have someone to watch your pets that will treat your babies like they are their own and put your mind at ease when you're away. I currently work 4 days a week (Mon-Wed and Sat.) but can work with you and be as flexible as possible with potty breaks for our dog friends. I am typically completely available on my days off I will treat your house and pets as my own and leave it the way I left it or more clean! I have respect for clients and love for all of the animals I care for, I take pride in making sure that everything is taken care of and exceeds expectations. I also am not afraid to ask you questions if I'm unsure of something.

“Mary checked on our two cats while we were out of town. She did great! We appreciated all her updates and pictures. We will definitely reach out to her again for future pet sitting needs!”

About: Hi! I’m Madison ☺️ I’ve been caring for pets for 8+ years through pet sitting, house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for friends, family, and repeat clients. My boyfriend and I both work in travel healthcare, so caring for others (including animals) is naturally a huge part of who I am. My boyfriend Victor is listed on the account for the off chance he would need to do a visit for me. However, I plan to make every single visit I know how stressful it can feel leaving your pets with someone else, so my goal is to make you feel completely comfortable and worry-free while you’re away. Your pets will be treated like family and get plenty of attention, playtime, cuddles, walks, potty breaks, and love while in my care. I’m especially great with: • High-energy dogs • Pets that need extra attention or patience • Keeping routines consistent • Sending frequent photo/video updates ☺️ Because of my flexible schedule between travel contracts, I’m often able to give pets lots of one-on-one time and attention instead of leaving them alone for long hours. A little extra about me: • Non-smoker • Very clean/respectful in clients’ homes • Experienced with anxious/shy pets • Happy to accommodate special requests when possible I also offer walks/jogs for energetic dogs who need to burn off some extra energy 🐾 Feel free to message me with any questions — I’d love to meet you and your pets! Throughout the week my schedule is very flexible, which allows me to give pets lots of attention, playtime, walks, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day. On the weekends I do work but still able to care for your pets as it’s a mid shift! I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so caring for pets fits naturally into my routine and lifestyle 😊 Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I do my best to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible while you’re away. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, potty routines, and any special requests. I also provide regular photo/video updates so you always know how your pet is doing ☺️

“Alyssa is amazing! I highly recommend. I just moved to Washington and was panicking about leaving my babies for a few days not knowing anyone. I found her profile on Rover and reached out because she looked like she would be amazing with animals. She sent me the cutest pictures and was so sweet with them! “Emma was one of the sweetest people I’ve met on Rover. She is very kind hearted and loved to spend time with my dogs. I could definitely trust her being in my home, and I plan to continue her services in the future. Highly recommend Emma !!!”

“In this crazy time of intense travel and a shortage of pet sitters in the heart of the city, we are so thankful that Mary-Elizabeth has been available to watch our cats during our sporadic away times. She coaxes our shy cat out with the bonito flakes and sends us pics of them on her visits. She feeds them exactly as we ask and does extra picking up after them as needed (one of our cats is elderly and sometimes needs a little extra looking after). I leave this positive review because she deserves it, but deep down I hope she always has a little availability for our future sporadic trips. With the traffic picking up, and the holidays around the corner, I can only imagine how much tighter all the great pet sitter's schedules, like Mary-Elizabeth's, will fill up.”
“Brian did a great job checking in on our dogs! We were gone on a day trip and just need someone to stop bye and let the dogs out. He handled them very well, took pictures and let us know everything was okay. We will definitely we reaching out in the future 💗”

“I am a first time customer. Abby made the experience great. She walked me through the process and made me feel confident about the care she takes with our cat. She was professional, reliable and so kind. I’m looking forward to scheduling Abby for April and July vacations if she’s available.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Wautauga Beach
Mel and Kelly were very thoughtful and caring cat sitters. We met Mel in person before we left so that we could introduce her to Arwen (Kelly was out of town). They came regularly each day, followed all the care instructions that we left, provided fun pictures and videos, took in our mail, and left the house clean and tidy! We appreciated the extra mile that Mel and Kelly went to make sure Arwen felt cared for. Specifically, Arwen tends to hide from strangers, so the first time Kelly came to care for Arwen (with Mel), she hid the whole time. Mel made another attempt later in the day to check in on Arwen. With patience and being sensitive to her scaredy-cat ways, Arwen warmed up to both of them, which made us feel much better leaving her in their care during this trip. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again in the future!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wautauga Beach. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
