“Wendy was absolutely fantastic to work with. She was very caring and understanding about our anxiety ridden dog. She was available on such short notice when our plans changed last minute for our upcoming vacation. Kaylee surprised all of us by warming up to Wendy almost immediately at the meet and greet we did and from what it sounds like, happy to see Wendy and her little pup Honeypie show up on the first day. She sent pictures throughout our trip and was great at sending us updates. We will definitely be booking with Wendy again on any future trips we take! Hopefully well in advance next time 😉”

About: I’ve fostered dogs with the company Animal pad in San Diego, I adopted one of those dogs and I volunteer for the Kitsap humane society. I’m recently out of the Navy and about to start school. Looking for short term income where I can have a flexible schedule on the new journey in my life. I will make sure your pet feels safe and cared for while you are away and send plenty of cute pictures so you know they are cared for so you can enjoy your time.
“Our dogs are always happy when we come home. Anna is great with them. We are leaving for a week tomorrow and I know they will be in great hands with Anna. I highly recommend her!”

“Eunice was great watching our two dogs while we were in Italy! She kept in good contact, and left our house cleaner than when we left it! We are glad to have found a great sitter for future trips!”

“We love when Branden watches our dogs! He is so communicative, sends pictures to show that they’re happy pups, and always takes them on walks. He’s fantastic and our go-to dog sitter. He’s very dependable and that’s very important when choosing someone you trust to watch your pup.”

“Will continue to book Terry whenever he is available to watch my cats. He is always super communicative, accommodating, and punctual with his stays/visits. Would highly recommend to watch your pets.”

“Erica was excellent! She took care of my dog on my wedding day. She arrived on time and my special needs senior dog loved her. I didn't have to stress at all about my dog during my wedding, Erica did a wonderful job and kept me updated with photos. Will definitely work with Erica again!”

“Jessica was fantastic! She took such great care of our dogs on short notice, and it really showed — she was attentive, communicative, and left everything spotless. Our Akitas were clearly comfortable and happy with her the whole time. We'd book with her again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter.”

“We LOVE how much Shalindra loves our dogs, and they love her! She keeps us thoroughly updated and sends plenty of pictures and videos so we know they’re doing well. She is someone who you know just adores spending time with dogs, which helps us know she’s enjoying her time with our pups, even if one of our dogs is insane haha. Highly recommend Shalindra if you want someone to truly enjoy hanging out with your pups and update you along the way.”

About: The Name is Yes-Purr. Shaken, Not Furred. Your pet isn’t just watched - they’re fully cared for like one of my own. With overnight stays and a flexible work-from-home schedule, I build their day around walks, play, meals, and consistent attention tailored to their personality and energy. From shy companions to social butterflies, I make sure they feel safe, settled, and genuinely at ease until you’re home again. I offer dependable, attentive pet care, which means your pet gets a calm, consistent presence throughout the day rather than rushed check-ins. My schedule allows me to integrate walks, feeding, playtime, and litter care into a steady daily rhythm, so your pet’s routine stays stable and stress-free. For dogs, I build in structured walks and breaks around my work blocks, ensuring they get regular exercise and attention between my writing and publishing tasks. For cats, I provide quiet, respectful care with regular check-ins, play, and feeding - always adjusted to their personality and comfort level. I’m flexible and responsive, while still keeping a reliable routine in place. I’m present, observant, and able to notice small changes in behavior or needs quickly. Your pet gets consistent care, your home stays respected, and you get peace of mind knowing someone responsible is there throughout the day - not just stopping by.
“Lisa is kind and conscientious—an absolute gem! She’s a true animal lover, and my girls (our big German Shepherd and Bullmastiff) sensed it immediately. They were comfortable and happy right away, which gave me such peace of mind. Lisa follows instructions perfectly, keeps everything clean and tidy, and takes excellent care of the house while we’re away. I always feel confident when we’re out of town knowing she has everything under control. We’re so grateful to have found her and highly recommend Lisa to any pet parent looking for a reliable, caring sitter!”

“Shayla did an amazing job with our 2 dogs. Our youngest is a challenge and she managed her wonderfully. We communicated daily and she sent photos of them. We’ve never had to leave our pups for 8 days before and were quite anxious about it. But Shayla was very responsive to our needs and we came home to 2 happy and healthy pups. I would certainly recommend Shayla.”

About: I've taken care of animals all throughout my life and have worked with and in shelters for the past 4 years. I have plenty of experience with a variety of breeds, from Chihuahua to Mastiff. With a variety of experience in average, senior, and medicinal care, I'm happy to accommodate for you and your pet's needs, I look forward to caring for your fur babies! I can walk and board all week days and weekend days. I am available for in-home/housesitting care from Thursdays-Mondays. I work full-time but am afforded a flexible schedule, so feel free to reach out about your specific needs! I have 2 of my own cats that are as sweet as can be and would love the chance to meet new friends, if you and your pet are up for it. Otherwise, I have a custom "cat city" room and an outdoor patio and backyard for fur friends to get plenty of privacy (with supervision of course!) if they need it.
About: I have over 15+ Years of experience of pet and house sitting. Formerly on THS with 60+ sits and all 5 star reviews! I pride myself on caring for anyone’s pets and home as if it were my own! They deserve all the love and utmost care with love, attention and respect, I believe in loving the work that you do and nothing makes me happier than working with animals and giving the care and companionship they deserve. I’m also a home owner myself and a host on Airbnb so I know what it’s like to have someone in my home and hoping they will care for my home as if it were their own which is why I have a perfect rating. It’s a way of life and it feels good to know I’ve done a good and thorough job. Hi I’m Michelle, a non smoker and non drinker who splits my time between my home in Seattle and London. I’m a director for a children’s charity and feel very fortunate that I’m able to work and give back at the same time. Strangely allergic to Bananas. When im not doing camps for kids or playing tennis, I enjoy being home watching a good movie or reading a good book. Which gives me alot of free time which is why I love to pet sit and house sit. It’s fun, rewarding and the best of both worlds. I’m a director for a children’s charity and also Airbnb host and traveler so I know how important it is to care for someone else home as if it were my very own and how important it is care for children which also transfers over to pets! As I don’t see the difference between children and pets! I feel like pets are little humans and they should be treated with kindness, love and respect! I take it very seriously and pride myself on being a good and extremely reliable sitter. It’s a way of life for me.
“Liz was a great sitter for my girls. One of them had a last-minute medical issue and she handled it. She administered her medication's and took great care. Both dogs were happy and healthy when I got home. She also left the house in great shape. I would definitely ask Liz to stay with my girls again.”

“Mason was kind and communicative. Looked after Sagan very well, and messaged me many cute whimsical things throughout my trip regarding Sagan and my plants. I came home to a happy cat, and a tidy home. I would happily work with Mason again.”

“Nancy’s first stay with my pets was exceptional. Being away (and out of cell service) for a week is a huge leap of faith and Nancy delivered in full and then some. The pets were happy and well tended. She left extensive notes and updates for my return and even when above and beyond in a handful of the responsibilities we had discussed. She will be my first stop for all future house sittings without a doubt 🧡🖤🖤🐾”

About: Hello! My name is Patrick, although my friends refer to me as V. I have a TrustedHouse sitters profile that I am primarily on & have over a dozen 5* reviews which I can show when asked! I’m originally from the South and grew up in rural Texas on my family’s farm. From my early adult years until now (30), I’ve been traveling around the country & have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people and be exposed to so many different lifestyles! Because of that, I am very flexible with a lot of different quirks in people, places & animals. Animals have always been a part of my life. I grew up around farm animals, and later on, cats and dogs became a consistent presence in my home & especially my travels the last 8 years I had a cat named Tulip, who was my best friend and travel companion for the past eight years. She recently passed after a long, full life with me. Because of that loss, I’m not quite ready to welcome a new pet of my own just yet. Instead, I’ve chosen to spend this time loving and caring for other people’s animals, which has helped fill the space she left in my heart. Corny I know! But she really was my best friend & my only family I’m a very clean and respectful person (I actually enjoy tidying up!) and will always leave your space better than I found it. I like to send walkthrough videos before you coming home so you have the peace of mind of knowing for a fact you’re coming home to a clean home. Since I’m self-employed and work remotely, your pets will never be left alone for long…they’ll have company, playtime, and affection throughout the day & night. I’m also happy to send updates or photos so you can feel connected and reassured while you’re away. I do not smoke, do drugs or have a strong desire in going out. I’m a bit boring in that I like being a homebody as I appreciate solitude & peace; nature is the biggest motivator for me as well as pleasant places to walk. I am big on communication & work best with clear guidelines from both yours & my side. I raised tulip on a structured routine since we did travel so much so I really appreciate those who have their own animals on structured schedules. Not mandatory of course, but I do think it plays a positive effect on the animals life - especially when a stranger is taking care of them it usually helps with their anxiety. I’m always happy to meet ahead of time so you can feel comfortable with who you’re entrusting your pets and home to. Speaking from personal experience, knowing the person caring for your animals makes a huge difference in reducing stress and anxiety. I am a fulltime house/petsitter & use other apps as well so if you’d like to see my profile on other places let me know! And even if we cannot meet in person, I am more than happy to get on video calls, phone calls etc as it’s extremely important for both of us to get a feel for each other If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out, I’d love to connect! I am self employed and work completely remote so I am able to fit the needs of the animals I am currently taking care of before anything else in my schedule and work around your pets needs. Because I traveled for so many years with my cat & taking care of such big dogs, I have become very in tune with the needs of animals & how to ensure they have an enriching environment; as well as knowing how to read their body language and help them relax during stressful situations. I find consistency best for pets especially when they’re anxious about new people — it helps them relax a bit so I do my best at providing as much structure as possible

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wautauga Beach
Ryan has a wonderfully calming and capable presence which our whole family (pets and people) appreciate. Our friendly cat and boisterous teen puppy love spending time with Ryan and we appreciate receiving Ryan’s beautiful photos and frequent updates when we are out of town.
Pamela was wonderful with our pup "Rio!" He's normally a bit shy at first meetings but he took to her almost immediately. She was great at giving us daily photos, updates and even a lovely written "Rio Report" at the end of her stay. We had to reschedule our flight and Pamela was very accommodating when we had to return for one of the nights she was scheduled to stay over. Both times we arrived home to a very happy hound and tidy hearth.

Miranda is amazing!! She stayed at our house and with our dog Kiwi for 4 days. Kiwi loved her and when we arrived home, our house was immaculately clean. I could tell as soon as I met Miranda, that Kiwi would be in excellent caring hands. I would highly recommend Miranda and will definitely book her again.

Mel and Kelly are the best! They are responsible and conscientious, and they clearly spent lots of time doting on our very spoiled kitty. Zoya seemed to really enjoy having their company, and was entirely comfortable with them from the start. We feel very fortunate to have found Kelly and Mel, and I highly recommend them!

Kimberly was absolute fantastic watching our boys while we were on a work trip. Her communication was excellent with tons of pictures and videos putting our nerves immediately at ease knowing they were in great hands. 10 out of 10 experience and will definitely be reaching out again!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wautauga Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wautauga Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wautauga Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wautauga Beach. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
