“Amy is amazing! Our little dog Henry instantly bonded with her. She was quick to respond to any questions we had and even came to meet Henry ahead of time. We felt confident and secure leaving our little guy with her.”

“Great communication and experience with Chloe - did an amazing job during an overnight sitting so that we could enjoy a rare “date night” over in Seattle. Nice updates and photos during our absence. Will use again!”

About: I'm reliable and have cared for a wide variety of dog sizes and ages. I have cared for senior dogs and other dogs with special care requirements. I'm available to take care of any pets any day of the week at your house. My two dogs are not guaranteed to get along with yours and they are both adverse to new people so I cannot host any pets. I can do overnights at your house as my pets have other carers in the house. I greet your dog when I see them, let them outside if that's an option or go for a walk immediately. I will feed them, refill their water bowl and play with them. We will go on a walk if not already done. I make sure they have enough water and pets before I leave.
“Could not be happier with the care Cara provided for our big ole mama dog while we were gone. Almost want to plan another trip just so they can hang out again! I recommend Cara without hesitation.”

“Mariah stayed at our home with our 4 dogs for 4 days and nights. She is fantastic with our dogs. They all love her and received great care. Mariah sent photos and videos and let us know how they were doing daily. This was our first time using ROVER and we will be using Mariah and ROVER in the future.”

“Autumn is one of the best dog sitters I’ve ever booked! She was very communicative, handled each dog perfectly despite their individual quirks and overall made me feel so much better about going on vacation! I absolutely recommend Autumn to look after and love your animals!”

About: I will start off with saying, I am insured with PCI! I’ve had dogs my whole life, I have 5 at the moment. 2 cats, a (Yearling), tortoise, frog many animals. I have experience with plenty of animals. I have animal sat for multiple families and friends and they have loved me! I work fulltime but can make time for your babies. I treat your babies like mine. I make sure they get the love and care they need. I slowly introduce myself, if you need your dog crated I can do that. If all we need to do for your pet is we meet a few times before petsitting that is okay, or if you need me to bring my dog so your dog can meet mine. Whatever helps with your animal to feel comfortable and safe.
“Lisa is an amazing house sitter. We have three animals: a 2-year-old bouncy lab mix, a 13-year-old cat with medical issues and a 12-year-old chicken (the last of her flock) who lives in the veggie garden. She took care of all the animals by meeting their individual needs and giving them lots of love and attention. When we came back after one week, the animals were happy and the house was spotless. I will definitely ask her to work with us again.”

“I can’t thank Jordynn enough for the great care of my pups who have vastly different personalities. One sweet girl Nina who never wants to leave your side and could play all day and then my shy old man Dewey. But Dewey warmed up to her so quickly and I could tell Jordynn truly cares about animals. She was courteous, timely and thoughtfully communicative. Even though I was going to be without cell service during part of my time away I always returned to pics and updates. I look forward to booking with her again.”

“Allison was fantastic! She went well above and beyond any expectation I’d had about booking a sitter for my Ollie, especially as I had to do so last minute. Ollie is a rare breed (AHT) and requires a bit of extra / different care than the average dog and Allison was more than willing to meet his needs! She stayed with him and loved him and I am so grateful for her care of my little guy! Highly recommended!”

“Alexia was a great sitter for our pup while we were away on a family trip! She was very communicative while we were gone and we came home to a happy pup and our home just as we left it! We would definitely use Alexia again in the future!”

“Heather was beyond perfect! She was the best pet sitter I’ve ever had and I can’t say enough good things about her! I’m so incredibly grateful for how good she was with my dogs! She spent a lot of time with them and walked them 3 times a day which was exactly what I wanted! She helped my anxious dogs feel happy and loved! She sent many updates and followed my food instructions to an T! She sent many pictures which was amazing!! She even did the dishes I left in the sink! Just fantastic! If you need a sitter pick Heather! You won’t be disappointed!! 1000000/10 recommend!!”

“Our pup loved Metta! She’s friendly, communicative and professional. We felt very comfortable having her stay in our home and she left the place spotless. We would highly recommend! She also sends the greatest pup pictures and updates throughout the day.”

About: I’m new to Rover! I love animals! Theres a dulplicated review glitch on my profile so if anyone can give me a chance to care for your little ones I’d be grateful. I grew up surrounded by family pets. Whenever my parents went out for vacations I would stay at their house to spend time and care for their pets. From walks to feeding and quality time snuggles; I've been blessed to care for and love the beautiful creatures we've been graced to be in companionship with. I don't have any special training, but I love animals and will treat your family with as much care as I would treat my own. I can't wait to meet and care for your animals as well! I'm currently looking for work so I'm very free at the moment. I've loved animals since I was very young so if I could get more into pet care I'd love that. I don't have a place of my own to take care of pets. However, I have taken care of pets in other houses quite often over the years. Your house is your safe place. As someone who is introverted, I know how important a safe place is. With that in mind, I will treat your home with same respect and sanctity that I treat my own if I visit to care for your little ones. Any rules and/or guidelines for your property, I will follow to the best of my abilities to ensure you come back to the same, if not better home than you left from. With regard to your pets at home, you can tell me freely what things there are to keep in mind. The more I know about your pet, the better quality of service I can provide you and your pet with. I am open to discussions about home care options as well, if that is something you are looking for. (Things like yard care, cleaning, etc.)
“Khloe had a fantastic time with Christina! In fact she didn't want her to leave! Christina was AMAZING and so caring for Khloe! We had absolutely no worries during our trip away! Christina was so good with updates and pictures. We already have Christina booked for our nest get away! We highly recommend her for house/dog sitting. When we returned home, our house was clean and tidy. Thank you, thank you Christina for loving Khloe as if she was your own furry baby!!”

“Cassie did a wonderful job taking care of our 2 labs and 1 cat while we were away on vacation and made sure the house stayed in good working order! Her schedule was flexable enough to house sit Thursday through Sunday which allowed us to travel out of state and the primary reason we went with her. She stayed in constant communication and was swift with her reply! She gave us peace of mind knowing our pets where being well taken care for which allowed us to enjoy our vacation!”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Kariotis is $65
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Kariotis
Amber and her family did a wonderful job with my baby Toby. They communicated regularly and sent me pictures and videos which I appreciated more than I can say. The house looked great and everything was as it should be or better! They were respectful of my home and property but most important Toby was very well taken care of. My biggest worry was that Toby would be upset and not eat the first couple of days which he has done in the past but with Amber and family he ate everything everyday and was very excited to see me but not the crazy excitement that I've experienced with him when I returned before. That tells me he was content and happy while I was gone. I highly recommend Amber and will use her for any future dog and or house sitting. Very grateful!

I’m so thankful for Jessica and her son staying with my pup over the holiday week! I know she received so much love, and it made being away from her much easier knowing she was being well taken care of. Jessica sent daily updates and the cutest photos. She left the house in great shape, too. Thank you!!

We are new to town and particular about who cares for our fur babies. Elizabeth exceeded our expectations. She followed all our instructions carefully. She sent pictures daily and I could tell animals were happy. She stayed in home, walked dogs and provided lots of snuggles. We will definitely use her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kariotis walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kariotis maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kariotis choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
