My wife and I had to travel to FL to arrange our official move to WA. Valerie was amazing and stayed with our two sweet pups while we were away and took care of the house! She took pictures and videos and kept in touch with us which we really appreciated. She was especially great with our special needs old lady couch queen Maggie. Millie loved her too. We definitely recommend asking Valerie for help if she is available and will use her again if we are in need!

Michael was fantastic!! We were on vacation for about ten days and I feel like we never had to worry the whole time and could enjoy our time away. Michael provided ample exercise and individual attention to our energetic and highly anxious pup and also gave our cat tons of playtime and cuddles. Our place was spotless when we came home! Would 100% recommend.

Lisa is kind and conscientious—an absolute gem! She’s a true animal lover, and my girls (our big German Shepherd and Bullmastiff) sensed it immediately. They were comfortable and happy right away, which gave me such peace of mind. Lisa follows instructions perfectly, keeps everything clean and tidy, and takes excellent care of the house while we’re away. I always feel confident when we’re out of town knowing she has everything under control. We’re so grateful to have found her and highly recommend Lisa to any pet parent looking for a reliable, caring sitter!

Penny is a rock star. We left our dog and my daughter’s dog with her at our house over Christmas. My daughter’s dog has a seizure disorder and takes 3 pills twice a day. He hadn’t had a seizure in months, but of course had 3 Grand Mals in one day with Penny. She got in touch with us and handled the situation perfectly, giving him his extra meds and keeping a close watch on him. She even offered to not go to her sister’s house on Christmas so she could keep an eye on Lovund. My dog, who is very quirky, ignored Penny most of the time, but Penny was not fazed but this. June finally approached Penny after we got home, wagging her tail and licking Penny’s hand- June’s stamp of approval! Our house was in good shape when we got home. I felt very comfortable leaving our pups with Penny and would not hesitate to utilize her again.

I can’t thank Jordynn enough for the great care of my pups who have vastly different personalities. One sweet girl Nina who never wants to leave your side and could play all day and then my shy old man Dewey. But Dewey warmed up to her so quickly and I could tell Jordynn truly cares about animals. She was courteous, timely and thoughtfully communicative. Even though I was going to be without cell service during part of my time away I always returned to pics and updates. I look forward to booking with her again.

This was my first experience with Rover and actually my first time being away from my dog Niko. I was so fortunate to have Amanda accept the house sitting and dog watching opp! Could tell right away that she's a kind and honest person and perfect to spend some time with Niko. Amanda's communication was top-notch and she answered all of my questions. During her time with Niko she sent me lots of photos and videos of all the adventures from the weekend! Niko split the time between Amanda's house and mine and when I got home the house was super clean. Amanda went above and beyond and I look forward to working with her again. Niko def misses her and the weekend experiences.

Sherlock was entertained and she even was able to get my very picky eater to finish his dinner. I highly recommend her.

Bevin left my house clean and tended, all linens washed and replaced, the garden watered and, most importantly, one kitty happy and well cared for. Alister obviously had lots of love and attention showered on him and I feel quite confident that if anything had gone wrong he would have received any care he needed. He's actually showing me when in the day he got love and snuggles, when he had playtime, and he's trying to tell me he had treats any time he asked - but I don't believe that. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bevin as a pet sitter, and will hire her again.

About: I have had dogs in my family since I can remember, including a husky, shiba inus, a rescued staffordshire terrier, red labrador, and an icelandic sheepdog. I have experience training them as puppies, including walking, tricks, and obedience. I have experience walking 2-3 dogs at once, as well as experience with elderly dogs and health issues, including a seizure disorder and asthmatic symptoms. I am currently working part-time with a very flexible schedule, and am able to prioritize your pet! I am available for walking and house-sitting or check-ins any time at the moment. Feel free to reach out and I’ll do what I can for you. At home, I prioritize my animal’s freedom and playtime as they are very energetic. While I do not board animals, I am happy to work around your schedule to make sure yours are taken care of. I can crate them, spend time outside, teach small obedience lessons or tricks to keep them busy, or provide other activities they already know in your home.

Mackenzie is an extremely kind and thoughtful person - and a fantastic sitter! This was the first time we left Dante (6yo Scottie) alone, and we were a bit worried he might get anxious or sad. He’s also a bit wary of strangers, so we were wondering how he’d do with someone other than us. Mackenzie was great! We loved how she connected with Dante at the meet & greet, and she’s been so kind to come back to our place a second time to see how we arranged the place (we had just moved in and everything was still in boxes the first time). We’ve been away for 2 1/2 days. Mackenzie sent us updates and pics multiple times a day, making sure we knew how things were going. We came back to a happy, relaxed, puppy and a well cared for home. We’re so glad we found someone Dante is happy with! It makes us more comfortable with leaving town, and we’ll definitely book Mackenzie again the next time around!

We LOVE how much Shalindra loves our dogs, and they love her! She keeps us thoroughly updated and sends plenty of pictures and videos so we know they’re doing well. She is someone who you know just adores spending time with dogs, which helps us know she’s enjoying her time with our pups, even if one of our dogs is insane haha. Highly recommend Shalindra if you want someone to truly enjoy hanging out with your pups and update you along the way.

We were thrilled with Autumn when she cared for our pets over the weekend and would request her help again in a heartbeat. The animals were all well cared for and we received periodic updates while we were gone. Though I am not a fastidious housekeeper, on our return I was excited to find clean floors and trash emptied!

Pamela was wonderful with our pup "Rio!" He's normally a bit shy at first meetings but he took to her almost immediately. She was great at giving us daily photos, updates and even a lovely written "Rio Report" at the end of her stay. We had to reschedule our flight and Pamela was very accommodating when we had to return for one of the nights she was scheduled to stay over. Both times we arrived home to a very happy hound and tidy hearth.

FAQs for House Sitting - Waterman Point

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 7,965 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Waterman Point. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Waterman Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Waterman Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waterman Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waterman Point. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
