“Madison was always on time and gave very detailed updated on my kitties! She went above and beyond, even getting a stain out on my kitchen counter without me even asking! Will definitely be contacting Madison to hang out with our cats again for future trips :)”

“For my first time using Rover I wasn’t sure what to expect. Lauren did a great job with my “kids”. Both cats took their turn being shy with her but she had the patience to wait until they came out to see her on their terms. I liked that she gave me updates about the visit so I could give her real-time feedback on them. I will definitely use Lauren again!”
About: I have 6+ years experience of doggy daycare/boarding industry being a General Manager at a local facility. I would take care of 60+ dogs, senior dogs, puppies, reactive dogs, anxious dogs, noise sensitive dogs, etc. I also have 2 years experience in the vet field as an assistant/receptionist at a vet office and emergency care office. I also have experience with administering medications, cutting nails, & light grooming. I am a stay-at-home mom, so I am home all day including most weekends with my husband, Lucas. From waking up early in the morning to staying up late in the night, I’m always attentive. I have leads and leashes to walk your pet, take them out to the bathroom & even just to play outside! We love going to fields to play ball or just going on nature walks around our neighborhood. This can happen at our house or yours as well! Pets are closely monitored throughout their whole stay with me. I also have the ability to crate your pet during certain parts of the day if you wish, otherwise they will have access to most of our home if they stay here :)
“Holly Jean was wonderful! She sent me detailed updates about how her drop in visit went. She followed all my instructions perfectly. She was communicative during the booking process and did not hesitate to reach out if she had any further questions. I felt like my cats were well cared for with her!”
About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats my whole life. Whenever my family go camping and can’t take the dogs I stay home and watch them. I have pet sit for non family members in the past when I was in high school. I currently work full time and go to school but I have plenty of time in between classes and don’t have classes every day. A lot of the work for school I can get done at home so I’ll be able to be with your pet pretty often. I am very reliable and will be there when I say I will and will keep you updated on all the fun adventures with your pet! I will take your dog for walks if required and I will follow the routine that you already have while I’m there pet sitting. Since I have dogs I cannot have them at my house but I will take great care of them at your home.
“Katie is wonderful. My normally shy cats loved her immediately and that means a lot to us. She sent us great pictures on every visit and we wouldn’t hesitate to book her again in the future!”

“Molly was great! She communicated very clearly and even double-checked the window of time I requested for her visits, which involved medication. I had inadvertently mentioned two different arrival times, which were close but not the same. Another person could have thought, "Oh, I'll just go at such and such a time. Close enough." But Molly took the time to reach out and double-check. I appreciated that. When visiting cat, did everything just right! I recommend Molly!! 😊”

“They were amazing, beyond kind, and very responsive! They sent lots of pictures and kept up on all tasks asked! I would trust them again and again. Will be booking again for our next trip :) Thanks!”

“This was the longest we've been away from our one cat since he was diagnosed with a heart issue and with Alyssa checking in on them it took away the stress/worry about if they were going to be ok.”

About: I’ve always had a deep love for animals, and caring for them has been a big part of my life since I was young. I currently have a 3-year-old Australian Shepherd, so I’m very familiar with high-energy breeds and spend countless hours walking, playing, and reinforcing positive behaviors through consistent training. I genuinely enjoy being outdoors, and spending time with animals brings me a sense of calm and happiness, which translates into patient, attentive care for every pet I look after. I’ve also cared for a variety of dogs and cats while their owners are away, so I understand how important it is to keep pets comfortable, safe, and on their normal routine. What sets me apart is the level of attention and care I give to each pet. Whether it’s an energetic walk, playtime, or a calm drop-in visit, I treat every animal as if they were my own. You can have peace of mind knowing your pet will be in loving, reliable hands. I’m a full-time teacher with a consistent daily routine. I’m up early each morning for walks, and I’m home right after school to spend time playing with my dog. My schedule allows me to provide dependable morning, afternoon, and evening care. I’m also fully available on weekends, holidays, and throughout the summer, which gives me plenty of flexibility to help care for your pets while you’re at work or away on vacation. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by sticking closely to their normal routine. This includes feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific care instructions you provide. I’m attentive to each pet’s energy level—whether that means long, active walks and play sessions or a calm visit with plenty of affection. I use positive reinforcement to encourage good behavior and can help maintain any training you’re already working on. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, mental stimulation, and exercise. In your home, I’m respectful of your space and keep things clean and organized. I’m happy to help with basics like refreshing water, feeding, litter box or yard clean-up, light grooming, and, of course, lots of pets and cuddles to keep them happy and relaxed while you’re away.
“Angela is wonderful and so accommodating!! My kitty Stout doesn’t always warm up to people, but he absolutely ADORES Angela! The peace of mind I have when leaving town now is so priceless. Thank you SO much!!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals my entire life. My family has always both cats and dogs in the house. I have a lot of experience with multiple different breeds! Im in school currently, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I have classes during the week, but they range from 2-5 hours so they are not an all-day time constraint. I know how to make a home safe for pets. I‘ve spent my entire life making sure there’s nothing my pets can accidentally harm themselves with, including plants, open doors/windows, temperature, water availability, electric hazards, and more.
“Abigail is super responsive and did a great job with our puppy. Our dog is working through separation anxiety so it was so nice to get pic updates. She was on time and I cannot speak highly enough about how responsive she was. Would recommend!”

“Kelly did great with a drop in visit with my dogs. Asha is a senior lab with some health issues and Nala is very anxious but they both seemed happy and relaxed. Kelly sent pictures and updates and I would definitely hire her again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Walker
Morgen was absolutely amazing. Coincidentally, she lived extremely close to my son, which made the entire process incredibly easy. Morgen always submitted photos of my son two cats to assure us, they were happy and doing well, considering the one routinely loves to hide. Morgen was also extremely respectful of my son's Vision Impairment. She left the apartment very clean, yet did not unnecessarily move anything to avoid confusion upon my son's return. Morgen was very gracious in her flexibility as we had a family emergency and needed to adjust the schedule at the last moment. I would most certainly request her again and 100% recommend her to anyone needing a loving cat sitter.

Kristina took excellent care of my very nervous cat while I was away. She was patient, attentive, and took things slowly at his pace, making great progress once he felt comfortable. Kristina consistently sent updates and asked thoughtful questions, which really put me at ease. I’ll definitely be booking her again!

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Walker. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
