“Florence was so good with our kitties! She did a great job cleaning up after them and making sure they were happy while we were on vacation. It was our first time using rover, so we were pretty nervous, but Florence assured us she would take good care of them and also sent us pictures. We will definitely hire her again for our pet needs!”

“Andrea was great with our Arlo. They became fast friends! I could tell in the video she sent, Arlo will definitely enjoy having her around. Thankful for the video and pictures, knowing Arlo was having a good time. It makes not being home, a little more bearable during the day, that I know Arlo is taken care of.”

“Annette was great! She watched May for three weeks while I was on a business trip. She was very responsive and always sent lots of update photos. I highly recommend her and would definitely use her again.”

“Denise was super patient with lemon. She also had to clean up a mess but was very gracious about it. Shes very flexible and accommodating. We look forward to continue having her drop in while we are at work.”

“Maggie is seriously THE BEST!! We’ve had her watch our cats and garden twice now and she’s not only super caring and playful with them, but she totally goes the extra mile. While we were gone for two weeks she gave thorough updates and sent the cutest photos. Not to mention she kept our giant garden alive during a dry spell-lol. Would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who’s looking!!”

About: I have taken care of puppies and senior dogs and all different kinds of breeds! I love all dogs and work with kindness and patience! In the summers I'm pretty free so it just comes down to my schedule with other sitting commitments! I'm pretty flexible so whatever the animals need I try to do! I go by the book! Whatever the pet-parents do and require for their animals is what I do! I am patient and kind and respectful!
About: I’ve had dogs in my life since birth. I started taking more responsibility for them around the age of 10. The moment I graduated college, I got my own rescue doggo. Maisie is now 10 and likes to sleep and cuddle, so I’m looking to add some energetic pups to my walking route. I’m a nurse and have random time off during the week. My schedule is far from consistent but I hope that helps me stand out as someone to just drop in periodically. I’m a pet parent myself so I know how anxious people can get when you’re away from your babies. And I know how anxious your pets can get too! I’ll follow any sort of instruction you leave!
“Once again we had an amazing experience with Faith. She let us know daily how the kitties were doing and went out of her way to draw out our skittish little girl. Bonus- she takes great pet photos!”

About: I've been a part of a foster family for dogs of all ages since 2010 and will continue to do so even longer. The puppy litters I watched over the years have consisted of 4 puppies or less. The oldest "puppies" I've fostered were just about 6 months old but they are usually around 4 to 8 weeks. The oldest dogs I've watched were two small dogs: one was 16 years old and the other was 14 years old. Even before fostering, I watched and walked my neighbor's two dogs during all seasons. If she had not moved away, I would still be walking and caring for them now. I've always had a passion for dogs and my current dog, Ruby, is my second .
“I would recommend Hawraa to anyone who is looking for an attentive, caring and responsible dog sitter. She was always on time, took plenty of wonderful photos and made us feel like we were right at home with our dog. Thank you!”

“From the moment I met Sarah, I could tell our animals would be in excellent hands! Sarah is smart, kind, intuitive, and has great common sense. She took care of our two cats and even our chickens while we were gone for a week and I appreciated her thorough and timely check ins, great pictures, and the excellent care she provided. I cannot recommend her enough! I will definitely rebook her anytime I need a pet sitter!!”

“Spencer and Karli did a wonderful job of caring for our senior pups. They communicated often and put us at ease during our time away. We highly recommend them!”

“Megan did an awesome job taking care of and over seeing our boy. Really appreciated Megan’s attention to detail, notes and pictures. Will definitely use Megan and Rover again for our next trip!”

“This was my first time using Rover and I had a great experience with Meghan. She was available even though the booking was short notice (under two weeks). We met briefly to go over the pets’ routine before we left. She was efficient and communicative, sending photos and responding if I had any questions. Many thanks, Meghan! Good luck with the end of vet school!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Georgetown
I liked Florence as soon as she walked in the door and immediately focused on our cats. She wasn't fazed by our somewhat high maintenance situation and took everything in stride. Florence sent very detailed visit reports, including that she had given medication to a couple of our cats, and lots of pictures so we knew everyone was doing okay. Our cats were in good spirits when we returned and our house was just as we left it. Would definitely hire Florence again and highly recommend her services.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Georgetown. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
