About: Hi! I’m Shirley. I work full-time in marketing from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give pets attention throughout the day. Though new to Rover, I’ve always been an animal lover and have experience dog walking, pet sitting, and house sitting for friends and family, along with having grown up with dogs of my own. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to senior dogs who may need a calmer pace and extra care. I live on the Upper West Side, just a short walk from Central Park, so there’s no shortage of great walking routes and outdoor time. While I don’t currently have pets of my own, I really enjoy getting to spend time with furry friends. I mainly do this on the side because I genuinely enjoy it, which also means I try to stay flexible with pricing and cancellations whenever possible. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I always aim to create a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment. I’m very communicative (I also speak French and Spanish), quick to respond, and happy to provide updates and photos while you’re away. Please note: I am allergic to cats. I’m happy to help with cat drop-in visits, but I’m unable to accommodate longer cat bookings such as boarding, daycare, or overnight stays. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry friend! 🐾 I work full-time from home with a flexible schedule, so pet care fits very naturally into my routine. I’m very active and love getting outside for walks, especially living so close to Central Park. I do Rover on the side because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, and I’m able to be flexible and attentive throughout bookings while keeping owners updated along the way. I always aim to make pets feel as comfortable, safe, and relaxed as possible, whether they’re in my home or their own. I try to stick closely to their usual routine when it comes to walks, feeding, playtime, and downtime, since I know consistency is important. I’m very attentive, communicative, and happy to provide regular updates and photos throughout the booking. Living near Central Park also makes it easy to give dogs plenty of outdoor time, exercise, and stimulation during walks.
“Roman was great with Arthur. He agreed to meet up prior and introduce himself to Arthur. He’s been easy to contact and flexible. He is now my recurring walker for the week!”

About: Hi! I am a premed neurology researcher on the Upper West Side looking to support my application fees. I currently have a medium-sized dog named Alfie who I take on long walks everyday in Central Park (only 2 blocks from my apartment). I grew up with pomeranians and fostering large and small dogs so I am familiar with different temperaments and sizes. I am currently waiting to start my new position so I am available to care for your furry family member at your convenience. Once I begin my role, I only work three days a week so I can still walk your dog then as well. I have a 40-lb Keeshond who is very friendly and loves to play. If you are looking for boarding, my dog will be in the apartment as well but I can make sure they get acclimated.
“Ryan did a great job looking after my dog Kira. He was timely with her walks, always ensured she had food and water, and if he ever had a question was not afraid to ask. She seemed in great spirits when I got home. Happy with his work.”

“Julia is so thoughtful in taking care of my pup! She is consistently on time for walks and is always attentive to my dog’s needs. My dog can be a little shy around people she doesn’t know, but she loved Julia immediately and is always so excited to see her.”

“Amazing! Such professionalism and attention to Harley’s needs. I highly recommend sharing Rosanna as a qualified Dog guru. Thank you Rosanna for helping with my babies happiness.”

About: With over five years of experience caring for cats, I have a deep understanding of their nature and how to interact with them. I respect their need for personal space and am skilled at quickly recognizing their preferences. When they need me, I provide whatever care I can, whether it’s petting, playing, feeding, or offering attention. I get along well with my friends’ dogs, and they trust me enough to leave them in my care—even for overnight stays. I always follow their instructions carefully to ensure the dogs receive the care they need. I am a freelancer and work from home most of the time, which gives me a very flexible schedule to provide plenty of attention to pets. For cats, I make sure to brush them daily, feed them, and spend time playing with them. I will give all of my love to every kitty!!! For dogs, since I live just five minutes from Central Park in New York, I can take them for runs in the park and let them socialize with other dogs at the dog park. I live in a one-room apartment with my husband, Michael, who also loves animals—and animals love him too! Although we don’t have a yard, there is a platform by the window where small pets can bask in the sun. I also occasionally place a bird feeder on the terrace, so they can enjoy some bird-watching! Our home is kept impeccably clean and is on the fourth floor. Pets are free to roam and play around the house as they please. The windows and doors are always kept closed, so please don’t worry about them escaping outside. If a pet needs to stay at my home, I can host one to two cats or one dog at a time.
“Lily was great. She has a ton of experience, and I felt confident she would take great care of my dog. My dog is very shy, and Lily did a great job making her feel comfortable and at ease. I will definitely be booking with Lily again.”

“James is a very kind and gentle with our dog Betty who enjoys a quiet life! He’s super friendly snd relaxed and she was very happy to be off on a walk with him which is unusual in itself as she’s a Velcro dog! Highly recommend.”

“Josh is great! He is punctual, responsive and usually available. He does great with our dog who can be timid with new people, especially in our apartment. And he gives detailed information about their walks. Will definitely continue to book him in the future!”

About: I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, cats, and bunnies. I work in office full time preventing me from having a dog, but my night and weekends are completely free and I’d love the opportunity to help care for your best friend. I work in office M-F but my nights and weekends are completely open. I keep an active lifestyle so would be happy to take your pup on a long walk or make multiple visits throughout the day. I will follow whatever directions you leave for watching your pet in your home. I am also happy to do light tasks such as watering plants or collecting mail.
Upper West Side dog parents share their Rover experiences
Roman was great with taking care of my dog while I was away on vacation. He took him out on walks, fed him, and gave him water. He is super communicative and sent lots of pictures. I could tell that he made sure my dog had a fun time and gave him a lot of attention. I would definitely recommend booking with Roman because of his high level of care and attention to detail. I appreciate it!

Lorena did a great job with our reactive pup. She was very patient with Penny, took the time to understand her needs, and was very conscious about giving her the best experience on her walks. She truly loves the pups she works with and we’ve quickly come to trust her with our Penny.

Laura is quite possibly the greatest caretaker I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting! She goes above and beyond what was asked for, playing with my dog and waiting for him to eat, even for a simple 15 minute walk. She gives detailed updates on what he did outside and sends a bunch of photos. You will be incredibly comfortable with her taking care of your pup!

Drew is amazing! I had a hectic travel schedule with some last-minute changes, and Drew was incredibly accommodating and flexible through it all. He sent frequent photo updates of my girls, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. I came home to very happy girls—I’ll definitely be booking with him again!

Tingli and her partner Samuel have been a godsend! They have been available last minute on evenings and weekends, and super communicative and responsive. They were happy to do a meet and greet ahead of time and to take instruction from me remotely. My dog Seven can be reactive and a handful, and I feel super comfortable about their experience and able to handle her. I’m so grateful to have found them and will definitely be rebooking and recommending them to others!
