Hi! Please read before sending a request 😊 Thank you! Hi, I'm Ethel! 👋 Welcome to Happy & Friends! Happy 🐶 is my resident Golden Retriever and the inspiration behind the name. I help busy NYC dog parents with dog walks, drop-in visits, and cozy home boarding. Whether your pup enjoys slow sniff walks or longer adventures, I tailor every visit to their needs. We spend plenty of time outside exploring, sniffing and enjoying fresh air. For boarding, dogs may also enjoy safe, fenced outdoor spaces when it's a good fit and your preference. I've been caring for dogs for over 5 years, volunteer with the ASPCA and treat every pup like they're my own. I pay close attention to how each dog is feeling and always let them go at their own pace. Boarding 🏡 Dogs stay with me in my home in the Bronx, just 3 subway stops from Midtown. Iwork with city dogs who need a little more space, fresh air, and a calmer environment without leaving NYC. Your dog will enjoy a balanced day with outdoor time, sniff walks, play, enrichment, and plenty of time to relax. Ethel was extremely kind, attentive and flexible for the duration of our booking, stepping in during an emergency to make sure my dogs both got the care they needed and had a great time while away from home. I received lots of updates and photos, and Ethel followed all of the care instructions and requests I made to a T. I hope that the future is less chaotic, but knowing that someone so dependable is available for me and my pets is hugely reassuring!

I can’t recommend them enough! I needed someone to watch my dog at the last minute, and they came through without hesitation. From the moment we connected, they were responsive and incredibly accommodating. My dog was well cared for and received lots of attention and love while I was away. I really appreciated the updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind. I’ll definitely be booking with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!
Ethel and her daughter were wonderful! They sent us numerous updates, photos, and videos, and we could tell our pup was having a blast. They adjusted to her needs and were really easy to communicate with. We really appreciated it!
Biscuit had a great time! I got a bunch of photos and updates of Biscuit. As Biscuit has separation anxiety, I was a little concerned however, Biscuit was a happy girl with Ethel as she was able to explore and sniff everything on her walks.
Ethel was amazing! She kept me updated all weekend with texts, photos, and videos of my dog. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Will absolutely be booking with her again!

Schedule
I work part time, which gives me flexibility and time to focus on your dog. I’m available on weekdays and weekends and make sure your dog gets the attention they need.

I follow your pups usual routine, meals and any special instructions and do my best to make them feel right at home. I keep the space clean and safe and I love sending lots of updates, photos, and videos so you can see how they're doing while you're away.

A typical day
A typical day with me is all about comfort, fun, and routine. We’ll start with a calm walk or potty break, followed by meals and some playtime or cuddles depending on your dog’s energy level. I love letting dogs sniff and explore on walks, playing gentle games or (rough play if they are into that) and making sure they get plenty of attention and affection. I also include rest time so they don’t feel overstimulated. My goal is for your dog to feel relaxed, happy, and at home while you’re away.
