“They only let you leave 5 Stars…. That’s not enough Stars for what I wanted to leave for Megan! Waylon and Khaleesi didn’t want to leave! For our first Rover experience she sets the bar high for our next sitter. We highly recommend Megan for all of your fur baby needs! Ours stayed over night and Megan kept us to to date with photos and updates on the entire visit. Thank you Megan for loving our babies while we enjoyed a fun get away!”

“I was so nervous to drop off my newly rescued small Chiweenie and Geoff and Jenny did such a good job caring for him with so much love. Super friendly and accommodating. I can’t wait for him to go back to another doggy daycare day!”

“Tracy and Steven go above and beyond! I do not mean that as an exaggeration. Like they seriously go the extra mile. I booked very very last minute and Tracy came and got my baby! I was updated with a lot of pictures and videos and never in my life seen my baby more comfortable and happy there than any other Rover service I have used. They will forever be my go to!”

About: I spent the past 4 years running a successful dog-watching business in NYC with my partner. We have since relocated to Northern NJ and intend to provide the same high quality services for pets here. I grew up with animals - dogs, rabbits, birds, mice, turtles and fish. I would’ve had cats too if members of my family weren’t so allergic. As a teen I volunteered with friends at our local animal shelter and chose to work with the cat population because most of the volunteers wanted to walk the dogs. Most recently I trained my own dog - starting from when she was 6 weeks old. I used a combination of training techniques (including crate training) to successfully potty-train her, teach her to walk on a leash and eventually teach her to hike and run together off-leash. My dog is now 3 years old and I bring her to my grandmother’s assisted living facility. She interacts with and plays appropriately with other dogs, pets, adults and children of all ages. She is a secure dog and adaptable to any environment. I believe my dog’s calm and friendly demeanor is a direct reflection of my skills. I’m prepared to handle dogs across the spectrum of sizes and energy levels. I live close to many beautiful parks and trails, some with dedicated areas for dog-play. I will closely follow any instructions you have for feeding, exercising, sleeping and socializing your precious pet. I work part-time from home and set my own schedule so I am able to dedicate the appropriate time and attention to your pet easily. I will treat your pet like part of my family if they stay with me. I have a very calming presence that animals seem to react really well too. I am happy to watch your pet at your place if that works best. I provide an engaging, safe environment no matter the location.
“Cinthia was amazing with Koda. She was very communicative and provided regular updates throughout the day. I felt very comfortable with her watching my dog and knowing he was in good hands. Would totally recommend leveraging cinthia if you have the opportunity.”

“Yuberkis was amazing! She took care of Simba so well. Kept me updated every little while with pictures and videos. And Simba made a new friend too! Thank you so much for taking such good care of Simba!”

About: I know the specific 'sad eyes' when you pack your bags. My goal is to make my home feel your home and know the exact ways your dog likes their ears scratched, so your dog feels like they’re on a vacation, not just waiting for you to return. I’m home full-time, an early riser, and an active person so I can easily take on your dogs routine and any special needs or requests. I have a fenced yard and a neighborhood with sidewalks. I have three children who love dogs as well and understand safety around meeting new dogs. We are a dog family and love to cuddle!

Your dog will be at home, spoilt and will be cared for with and like my own dog. I work from home and am available the whole day to care for your furbaby. I provide playtime, enrichment, walking and potty breaks as needed. Your dog will always have the supervised company of my friendly dog. About: I've been an animal lover my entire life and have experience caring for dogs at every stage. From energetic puppies who need patience and structure, to adolescent dogs learning good habits, to our sweet senior dogs who benefit from a slower pace and extra attention. I also have experience volunteering with animal shelters, which taught me how to work with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and anxiety levels. What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet as an individual. Some dogs want an adventure buddy, some want a cuddle companion, and others just need a calm, reliable presence while their owners are away. I take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and quirks so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. As a high school teacher, I'm patient, responsible, and highly communicative. I'll treat your pet like a member of my own family and am happy to keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. I'm a teacher on summer break with flexible hours. I understand our furry friends don't always live by the same schedule we do, and am happy to provide them with the midday walks/socialization they need so you can come home to a happy pet. I'm happy to provide care in your home, secure yard, or neighborhood where your pet is most comfortable. Care in my home involves comfy couch access, walks on streets with sidewalks, and plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. I strive to maintain your pet's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, and any special instructions you provide. Safety is my top priority, so I always use secure leashes and harnesses during walks, closely supervise outdoor time, and make sure pets have a calm, clean, and comfortable environment. Upon request, I am happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away.
“I was honestly very nervous using an online dog sitter for the first time because my biggest fear was being scammed or something happening to my dog. But from the moment I dropped my dog off, Paloma made me feel completely at ease. She communicated with me throughout the entire day, sent plenty of pictures and updates, and was always quick to respond. It was so comforting seeing how loved, safe, and cared for my dog was while I was away. You can truly tell she cares about the animals she watches. I’m so grateful for the experience, and I would absolutely trust her again in the future. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!”

Pet care is already a part of my daily routine since I have three dogs of my own. My days are structured around feeding, exercise, outdoor time, play, and making sure my dogs are happy and comfortable. Because of this, caring for additional dogs fits naturally into my schedule. I have found the best sitters for my baby Zuri. She had an absolute amazing day with Steven and Tracy and their dogs. She had the biggest smile . I will recommend them to anyone- usually Zuri is nervous her first time and doesn’t eat her food. Well she ate all her food and her snack. Zuri was totally comfortable in her surroundings.
Cinthia was amazing with Koda. She was very communicative and provided regular updates throughout the day. I felt very comfortable with her watching my dog and knowing he was in good hands. Would totally recommend leveraging cinthia if you have the opportunity.

I can’t say enough good things about Marcy’s Dog Daycare! From the moment I dropped my dog off for his first visit, I knew he was in great hands. Marcy is incredibly kind, professional, and has such a deep love for animals—it’s clear she’s not just doing this as a business, but because she genuinely cares about the dogs in her care. Not only did Koda have a blast playing with other dogs, but he came home exhausted (in the best way possible!) and with a huge smile on his face. I could tell he had been well taken care of and treated like part of the family. I would highly recommend Marcy’s Dog Daycare to anyone looking for a safe, loving, and reliable place to leave their pet. It’s such a relief to know that my dog is not only cared for but actually enjoys his time there. I will definitely be bringing Koda back!

Darien is incredible! Right off the bat when we first met her we got an excellent first impression. She will care for your pet like her own. Kind, compassionate and loving toward our dog. Darien is very flexible and reliable, which made our Thanksgiving gathering less stressful for the day. Thank you Darien for making life a bit easier during the Holidays!

Pooja was amazing with my Harlem. We did doggy daycare for two days and she kept me updated via message with all of his activity in any questions that she had. It’s hard to trust anyone to watch your dog, but her proactive communication & effort that she took to take care of him reassured me that he was in good hands and was having the time of his life! I’m so happy with the exceptional care that Pooja provided for Harlem and would rebook her again! Harlem says thank you!!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
