About: I’m a dog mom to 3 sweethearts: Sherlock (15-lb Shih Tzu rescue), Jessie (55-lb American pitbull rescue) and Sasha (40-lb mixed terrier rescue). They all are very reactive to different triggers (people, other dogs, cats, squirrels/wildlife, etc.), and they’ve taught me how to be a better parent. Puppo (18-lb Maltipoo), our 15-year old senior dog, crossed the rainbow bridge in August 2025. Taking care of Puppo for 2 years was a transformative experience - he even taught me how to age with dignity and grace. I work a full-time hybrid job (2 days remote) and Saturday (10:30-1pm), but my calendar will be as up-to-date as possible! I take your pets’ safety very seriously, and will ask questions during our meet-and-greets to ensure their safety under my care. Additionally, I’ll take pictures during walks and cuddles/playtime, and be as communicative as possible. As a dog mom who has used Rover many times, I understand what many parents need!

About: I have been in the care-giver business for years. I’ve not only loved , rescued and nurtured many furry friends , but have been entrusted with elderly loved ones. Every human, pet and critters are blessings and need to be treated as such. Your pet and their needs are of the utmost importance to me. I am confident you will be happy with my service. Thank you. We will work together on any appointments and you will be informed up front if our schedules don’t coincide. I have a very flexible schedule and am sure I will be able to accommodate you. I care for pets in their homes and if a small dog needs walking, I am happy to do so as long as he or she is used to being walked and has been used to that environment. Safety for your pets are of the utmost importance.
“Caitlin was so great!! She was super quick to respond and attentive to all of my cat’s needs. My cat is timid, but Caitlin was so patient and caring. Caitlin also made sure to send lots of photos and detailed reports. Would definitely recommend!”

“Kyra was prompt and professional. She was sweet to our pups who are nervous about strangers and took care to follow our feeding and training instructions. We’re looking forward to booking Kyra again in the future!”

“Geoff took excellent care of our two cats, Dexter and DeeDee, while we were away on vacation for a week. He was reliable, followed all of our instructions, and kept us updated after each visit with photos and messages, which gave us great peace of mind. We came home to two happy, well-cared-for cats, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book Geoff again. Highly recommended!”

“Eva was very kind and caring with my guy Rex. We will absolutely be using her in the future. My dog loved her from the moment she walked in for the meet. Thank you for everything.”

“Mark is excellent with dogs, doesn't over-push but gradually earns their trust. Mark came through for us when we were running out of options to attend a family gathering out of state, and he turned out being the best option for our shy dog. I could tell she became more relaxed as visits went on. It was such a relief to have her in good hands. We will definitely hope to have Mark care for her again!”

“So this was a very last minute & first time thing for me! Luckily Stephanie was able to accommodate me and come help with Myka. Stephanie spent some extra time with her and that means so much to us! Thank you again I will definitely be booking another visit!”

“Michael was fantastic! Very responsive and I got lots of great pictures while I was gone. My cats looked like they were having a great time playing. Everything was great when I got back and they were so well cared for! Will definitely book Michael again!”

About: Pets have always been part of my life. I've had dogs, cats, goldfish, betta fish, hamsters, bunnies, and chinchillas. Currently in my care are the adorable bunny brother-and-sister duo I call the Wonder Twins, a senior Staffie mix who doesn’t like going down the shore so we’re weekend buddies, and Sassafrass, the “fraidy" cat. Each of these animals has its own rhythm and needs, and I've learned to pay close attention to what makes each one comfortable, whether that's a quiet room, a clean habitat, or a gentle, familiar routine. Since I'm retired, my days have a lot of natural flexibility built in. I can offer morning, midday, and evening visits throughout the week, not just squeezed-in slots around a nine-to-five. Pet care isn't something I fit around my life. It's become one of the things I structure my life around, alongside my own dog, Mojo. All of my care happens in your home, not mine. I come to you for dog walks and feeding visits, so your pet stays in their own familiar space with their own food, bed, and routine. For dogs, that means a walk at their pace around your neighborhood. For cats and smaller pets, it means fresh food and water, litter box or habitat cleaning, and some quiet one-on-one attention. At this time, I don't board pets in my own home. Keeping care in your space is part of what keeps things low-stress for your pet and simple for you.
About: I have always been involved in pet care in my home for over 15 years. I have had experience with elderly dogs and cats of my own. I have pet-sitted in my neighborhood for puppies and for breeds different from my own dogs. I will use my energy to play with your pet and hopefully decrease their energy. I am starting graduate school and I have a flexible schedule and availability for stop-ins during the day or bringing study materials to a client’s home. My yard is fenced in and I can take dogs for a walk in Brookdale Park nearby. I will administer medicine and play with dogs and provide them with a cuddly environment.

“I was hesitant to use a new dog walker, but my experience with Natalie was very assuring and she was fantastic with my dog King! She was friendly, always on time for the walks, professional and very responsible. I feel so relieved now that I found another great Dog Walker. I highly recommend Natalie and look forward to using her in the future.”

“Kelly is the absolute best. This was our first time on Rover, and her communications were clear and quick, and she did great work reassuring us that our pup was in good hands. Loved the photographs, and really appreciated the time she took to communicate with us by phone and by text. We’re only slightly concerned that our pup now likes her more than us! 😀 Hugely impressed with Kelly - she’ll take fab care of your pups.”

“Cassie is a phenomenal pet sitter! She took care of our 2 cats for a week while we were gone and was very kind and in tune with them. She went above and beyond making sure to play with them each day too. Cassie is reliable and very friendly to coordinate with. We feel lucky to have found such a great pet sitter for future trips as well.”

“Jonny did an excellent job of caring for our boy Royal. He gave us constant up dates even down to how many times he went to the bathroom. I really felt comfortable leaving Royal with Jonny he is so calm, cool, and collected I know it made our pup feel secure. Do not have any worries about your pet when they are in Jonny's care.”

About: I loveee animals. I grew up with many pets from cute little bunnies, turtles, lizards, birds, dogs and everything in between. I’m very caring which will show in everything I do. Your babies will be my babies, I promise :) I currently work full-time as an elementary teacher. I’m available for boarding your babes on weekends, and weekdays after 4pm. Sometimes I’m off on holidays and I would board then as well. We will always have a great time. Your babe will be free to roam my apartment under my supervision, of course. I also have a large yard, but will keep him on a leash. I can also crate him or her if you prefer. Either way, we will have tons of fun together.
About: Having grown up on a farm and surrounded by various animals, my pet care experience is extensive and deeply ingrained. From nurturing newborn alpacas to handling our pets everyday needs, I have a wealth of knowledge in tending to their well-being. Additionally, having cherished pets of my own over the years has further honed my understanding of their unique requirements and behaviors. My background instills confidence in providing compassionate and skilled care for any furry or feathered companion that comes my way. As a software engineer with a wonderfully flexible schedule, pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily and weekly routine. My love for animals makes them an essential part of my life, and I prioritize their well-being with the same dedication I give to coding. Whether it's feeding my pets, taking them for refreshing walks, or engaging in playtime, I ensure they receive the attention and care they deserve. It's a win-win situation that keeps me both productive and connected to nature. Living on the second floor of a quiet community with a courtyard just outside my door and nearby woods, I provide attentive pet care both at home and for clients. In my home, I ensure pets have a comfortable and secure space to relax, whether it's a cozy pet bed or their own crate if preferred. Regular walks and adventures in the nearby woods offer them ample exercise and stimulation. With plenty of playtime, love, and a variety of pet toys on hand, I make sure they feel right at home and well-cared for throughout their stay.
“WOW! What a great experience!! I have a young pup who is still so vulnerable and we BOTH had a great experience with Jen. Not only was she thorough and conscientious about my pups safety and health, but I could tell my little girl LOVED her and enjoyed her playtime. I will 100% leave her with Jen again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Upper Montclair
Caitlin is wonderful, bright, cheery, and great with my Selina (2 year old, bougie kitty). Selina takes a while to warm up to someone new, so I asked Caitlin to do 30 minute drop-ins while I was away for Labor Day weekend. By the time I returned Selina was giving up the tummy to Caitlin for belly rubs. :) We are ready for my 2 weeks in India now. Caitlin is excellent with the daily communication and pics, and was even concerned to take my trash out worried about the possible smell from the litter scoopings. I was worried about finding a solid replacement for my previous cat sitter. I am worried no more. Thanks, Caitlin!

Siara did an amazing job looking after our 2 cats for a week. On top of the usual (food, water, litter), she made sure to spend some time with cats and do what they wanted to do, be that brushing, playing, petting, or anything in between. She even got our very shy girl to warm up to her in just a couple of days! She was also super thoughtful and flagged an issue with automatic feeder that we missed and helped us ensure our cats were getting their meals dispensed on time. She also provides detailed reports and tons of pictures, and is great at prompt and timely communication. We hate leaving our cats home alone, but with Siara we felt they were well taken care of and would definitely book Siara again in the future!

My first time using Rover and I was not disappointed. Cole was fabulous! Every morning and evening I received a quick note about each visit and pictures which showed how comfortable my cats were becoming with Cole. Cole quickly learned my cat’s personalities and he took wonderful care of them. Will Definitely book Cole in the future.
Katie did an absolutely amazing job with our three kitties for a seven day trip. She sent us regular updates and followed all of the information we gave her! No issues when we returned home, and we would absolutely book her again when we take a trip out of town!

This is my second booking with Nicole. I was out of town for 5 days and I felt completely relaxed and without a worry because Nicole was watching my pets. I highly recommend hiring Nicole - she is kind, patient, caring, professional, and just an overall great person!

Geoff took excellent care of our two cats, Dexter and DeeDee, while we were away on vacation for a week. He was reliable, followed all of our instructions, and kept us updated after each visit with photos and messages, which gave us great peace of mind. We came home to two happy, well-cared-for cats, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book Geoff again. Highly recommended!

Melissa took wonderful care of my cat, Tia! She was reliable, communicative, and sent thoughtful updates and photos throughout my trip, which gave me great peace of mind. Tia was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for when I got home. I highly recommend Melissa and will definitely book with her again!

Tracy and Steven were awesome—our pets were clearly in great hands. They really took the time to bond with them, playing with our dog and giving lots of attention and cuddles to our cats. They showed up three times a day like clockwork and even grabbed a couple packages from the front door, which we really appreciated. The updates and photos after each visit were thoughtful and reassuring. It made a big difference not having to worry about our animal children while we were away. We’d definitely book them again.

I was very happy with Jenny as my cat sitter. She was very thorough with feeding the kitties and took a lot of time to brush Sweetheart and give her lots of attention. Shadow even came out a few times, something she rarely does. Jenny did a great job keeping the litter pan clean and throwing away the garbage. She also brought my mail in. I received a nice note daily as well as several photos. I would recommend her highly.

Jonny did a wonderful job taking care of our two cats for a few days! There were no issues while we were gone and he kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay. Jonny’s calm demeanor provided enough safety for even our shyest cat to come out and interact with him! Would definitely book again!

My cat Huckleberry LOVES Jenette. It may sound like a small thing but if you don’t provide compelling playtime, he won’t give you the time of day. Jenette really puts in the work with him and he has a great time with her. Can’t say enough good things. Jenette is the BEST!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
