Ruth is hands down one of the best pet/house sitters ever. We have been the beneficiaries of her services on numerous occasions now, and I can't say enough about her excellence on every level. She's very warm and caring for our little zoo here, but also super responsible for the odds and ends of home care that are needed in our absence. As much as I miss our animals when we're traveling, there is complete confidence in knowing that they are very well-loved in Ruth's care. Lucky us!

Thank you so much to Abigail for taking the best care of our 5yo golden retriever, Asher! She offered to come for a visit right away after we reached out and communicated quickly and clearly throughout the entire booking! She sent us daily pictures of all the fun they were having and left our home exactly as we left it. We had a last minute change up at the end of the trip and she was so willing to help and adjust - whatever we needed! We are so thankful Rover connected us and thank you to Abagail for giving us peace of mind while we traveled! :) We will book again for our next trip!

I can truly say, with complete confidence, that Alexandria is by far the dog sitter of your dreams! My dog has only been in the kennel once, and it was a very bad experience. My dog is very sensitive to loud environments. With Alex, she was so comfortable!! I got pictures every day, and when I got home, she didn’t know who to go to, me or her🤣🤣Anyway, she is so good, I pray she will be available next time I go away!! If they had 10 stars she would be the face on that poster!!

I will begin with my last paragraph: I highly recommend Vanessa as a pet sitter and would absolutely have her care for my dogs again. I feel very comfortable knowing that they—and my home—are in her hands. If you need more information, read on! I reached out to Vanessa to pet-sit in my home, including overnight stays, for three days. Given her background working at the EASEL shelter and her interest in special education and social work, I thought she would be an especially good fit for my two dogs: my eight-year-old, 80-pound poodle mix and my four-month-old, 15-pound Miniature American Shepherd puppy.
 I was somewhat anxious about leaving a young puppy with a sitter. At four months old, puppies are still learning, and I knew that inconsistent handling could easily lead to the development of unwanted habits. From our very first meeting, however, Vanessa gave me confidence that my dogs were in good hands.
 At our Meet & Greet, my large poodle mix approached Vanessa with his big, loud, deep bark. It was the first time he had ever met her and she handled the introduction beautifully. Rather than immediately trying to engage with him, she remained calm and allowed him the time and space to figure out that she was not a threat. She didn't overreact or become nervous, and the interaction went very well.
 When she met the puppy, who immediately started jumping on her, I said, "Off," at the same moment Vanessa said, "Down." She immediately adjusted and began using "Off" as well. That small moment told me a lot. It was clear that she was paying attention to the puppy's development and understood how important consistency is when training a young dog. She listened carefully to my concerns and gave me thoughtful feedback, which reassured me that she truly understood what I was looking for.
 While I was away, Vanessa sent me pictures and videos of the dogs eating both breakfast and dinner. This was especially reassuring with a four-month-old puppy because it confirmed that they were being fed at the appropriate times. I trust the sitters I hire, but I also appreciate having confirmation that they've arrived and knowing that important parts of the dogs' routine are being followed. I've had sitters in the past who didn't provide that kind of communication, leaving me wondering whether they had arrived or whether something unexpected had prevented them from getting there. A simple picture or message eliminates that unnecessary anxiety for me, and Vanessa was excellent about keeping me informed.
 After I returned, I asked Vanessa if she would be willing to sit again in a couple of weeks. She adjusted her schedule to accommodate my dates, which I thought was incredibly considerate and definitely above and beyond the call of duty!
 As I watched Vanessa interact with the dogs after spending three days with them, I could see that she understood the importance of correcting the puppy when necessary and, just as importantly, knew how to do it appropriately. She didn't overreact, but she also didn't let things slide. She was consistent about using the correct commands, which is particularly important with a puppy who is learning what is expected of her. I now have a list of obedience commands that I can leave for Vanessa on her next visit, and I have complete confidence that she will use them consistently.
 When I returned home, I found the house exactly as I had left it. Vanessa had even stripped the bed in the guest room, making it easier for me to wash the sheets. That small gesture was another example of how thoughtful and considerate she was throughout her stay.
 Vanessa is attentive, thoughtful, responsible, and genuinely caring. She clearly understands dogs, but what impressed me most was her attentiveness to my puppy's development and her willingness to follow through consistently with the training and routines I had established.
 I highly recommend Vanessa as a pet sitter and would absolutely have her care for my dogs again. I feel very comfortable knowing that they—and my home—are in her hands.

Karen always makes me feel so comfortable when Charlie is in her care. Charlie is always relaxed and happy when I return and my house is also well taken care of.

Diana was excellent at house sitting and pet sitting my two dogs. Followed instructions well and was very communicative. Was great with sending photos, which my wife and I love to receive when we're away. On top of all that, our automated chicken coop door unexpectedly stopped working during the house sitting session; Diana stepped up and let our chickens in and out of the coop at the beginning and end of each day. Above and beyond! Would book Diana again!

Jailine was wonderful! She took such great care of our fur babies and was very attentive throughout her stay. She kept us updated with pictures and went above and beyond to assist us during a pet emergency while we were across the world. We are so grateful for her care, communication, and support during such a difficult situation. We would definitely recommend Jailine and plan to book with her again!

Kira was amazing and took amazing care of my dog, cat, and home this weekend. She was extremely responsible and responsive. She kept up my pets routines and kept me updated with pictures. My pets loved her and I came home with zero stress about their care. Would absolutely recommend her and will be booking again!

Maci was an absolutely wonderful sitter. She took special care to us and our make our dog, Chopper feel comfortable. She was responsive, professional and a joy to work with. She even got Chopper a new harness! Would 10/10 recommend her and look forward to working with her again.

Ryan did great job taking care of our dogs. She went beyond her duties by getting one dog medicine for upset stomach. I would use her again!

Danielle did a great job house sitting with both Ruthie and Charlie for 10 days. It was my first time using rover and I was a bit nervous. She did a truly wonderful job taking care of my pets and my house. I plan to use her again in the future if needed. Thank you so much Danielle.

I was grateful that Edie could take care of Maple while we were away for the past 10 days. I appreciated the regular updates and photos which helped me feel confident that Maple was in good hands during such a long stretch of time. I came home to a very happy doggie and will definitely reach out to Edie again in the future.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about our dog sitter Ashley! From the moment we met, I knew my dogs were in caring and capable hands. They were treated like family, and I received regular updates, photos, and messages that gave me complete peace of mind while we were away. I will definitely be using her again!!

Sarah was amazing and our pet Cory loved her. She sent pictures and did all the things that put us at ease about our pet being in the hands of another. Will absolutely rebook.

Pat has developed a great relationship with Henry and took him on a very lengthy walk. It’s great knowing that Henry is getting attention and exercise while I’m gone.

Radenis is such a pleasure to work with. He stayed in our home while we were away and took care of our two dogs, who each have very different personalities (our small dog is a total lapdog and our larger pup is very people shy). Radenis took exceptional care of both of them and even gave some extra attention to our small dog who had just gotten over a serious illness. We hope he’ll become our “go to” sitter. Giana was great. She took great care of our dog and our house while we were away. This was our first time using Rover and we got very lucky starting with Giana. She has set the bar very high. She did everything we ask to keep our dog on her regular routine. We can highly recommend her and will be using her again in the future.

Alexis was everything we hoped she would be. She took care of our Pets and house the way we would. It was a pleasure to come home to everything in order and happy contented Pets!! We will absolutley call upon her services again.

Rebecca was great with our two pups, Bruno and Gertie. She was on time, cared for them well and sent us updates.

James was a great help looking after Ruby over the weekend. Ruby seemed absolutely comfortable with him. James kept sending us timely updates on her status which kept us tension free. Highly recommend James!
