“Kimberly has watched my dog Jackson twice now and did a great job! She is easy going and always in communication. Jackson is happy at her place and loves her big backyard!”

About: I have taken care of pets for as long as I've lived, family members always count on me to take car of their fur babies. They always talk about my love for animals. I am out of college for the summer which leaves me with plenty of time to care for pets ,to me it would be an honor to take care of anyones fur baby. I have a fenced back yard and a caged guinea pig, and 2 doors to my backyard and front door, my back door is always locked at night or when my family is not home.
“Sonia was great with Theo. She was very communicative and courteous. I loved the pictures and updates Sonia sent during Theo’s stay, catching him in ridiculous positions. She’s very experienced and knowledgeable about dogs having a senior dog herself. Would definitely recommend Sonia and would have Theo stay with her again.”

“I'm so happy that we found Courtney. Our Daisy is an older dog with mobility issues and Courtney was incredibly understanding and attentive to her needs. We received photos and messages every day that we were away that put us at ease about her care. I would highly recommend Courtney to any pet parent.”
“I highly recommend Christine for her services. My older dog was well taken care of in her home and got lots of attention and care. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with her and ai will continue to use her services.”

“Jolanta and her family are the best! Our pup Lulu felt very comfortable right away and she was in good spirits when we picked her up after ten days away. We could tell she got a lot of love and attention. Jolanta’s very friendly and great with providing photo and video updates. Also very safety minded. Would highly recommend!!”

“Haj and his family are incredibly loving and attentive - treating our pups that we boarded with them as if they were their own. We received daily updates in pictures, text annd video and you could tell how well they were being treated and cared for. Haj was also highly responsive. We would without hesitation board with Haj again.”

“Kyla took care of Leo on short notice and kept in touch with updates while we were away. Leo seemed very happy and relaxed the whole time. We really appreciated her communication and care!”

“Castillo was fantastic and was super easy to communicate with. We came from out of state for a family event and she accommodated our travel delays without issue. She gave plenty of updates and pictures throughout Gazpacho's stay with her and he looked to be having a great time.”

“Lauren was excellent, she took great care of our dog Rambo. She was very prompt with her communication and met every single request without any hesitation. We were so happy and relieved to receive daily updates via pictures of Rambo along with her dogs during his stay. I am very satisfied and look forward to using Lauren’s service for future boarding/pet-sitting needs for Rambo.”

About: I’ve been taking care of my special-needs pup, Dottie, for 8 years. She’s on a strict diet and takes meds too, so I’m good with following precise instructions. I have a loving and serene home where Dottie and I can welcome your pup. I work from home on Fridays, so I am available for boarding for long weekends. We could coordinate a Thursday evening drop-off if need be. On the weekends, I go to a pilates class and run errands, but am otherwise around as company for the dogs. My yard is only partially fenced, so I will be taking the dogs on leashed walks. Dottie sleeps in bed with me, so it’s okay if your pup needs to as well. If your dog is crate-trained, that is okay too.
“Gerry watched our 5 month old Maltipoo puppy Rocket this evening. He had a blast playing with her. Gerry sent us a bunch of updates and photos throughout the evening. She is very responsive, personable, clearly loves dogs and knows how to watch them. We will definitely use her again in the future and would recommend her to others as well. This was our first time leaving Rocket with a sitter and we got lucky in finding Gerry.”

“Best pet sitter ever! I think my dog was disappointed when we picked him up…he would have preferred to stay with Elias??. We were given constant updates and pictures so we never have to worry about our pup while out of town. I was referred to Elias by another friend who also had an amazing experience!”

“Chantel and Neil (and their kids!) were so great with our dog when they watched her for a week. We heard from them everyday with pictures or videos and it was great to watch her play with their dog or just laze around with their family. It was important to us that our dog being a comfortable environment that felt as much like home as it could, and Chantel and Neil certainly provided that. We will certainly rebook in the future.”

“I'm delighted to be Amber's first review, as this sit was magnificent!! Amber and her family came through for me for a last-minute, same-day holiday (4th of July) booking, and they were great from start to finish! Very friendly, helpful, responsive, and flexible and seemed to attend well to my Sienna -- following my various tips and even going lengths to ensure, with her being an older dog, that she wouldn't be out in the heat during walks for too long and was protected by the outside fireworks that first night! Amber also shared some text and picture updates throughout the stay, and her and her husband for were very reassuring both during drop-off and pickup regarding Sienna's care. They were so great that I ended up extending the sit to an extra day, originally scheduled for just one, and they were very accommodating in my doing so. Sienna seemed to like them well, and I think they liked her -- I definitely would book again whenever we're back in this area again!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Trenton
My hubby is working in the area. I flew in from GA to visit him, so that we could drive to Canada to celebrate our 10th anniversary. He travels with our dog and we needed a safe home away from home while we travel. Ivelisse was great with our fur baby! Love had just been diagnosed with a UTI and she was very attentive, even giving us helpful recommendations on how to prevent further ones. She sent regular updates and we could tell that Love enjoyed the stay as well. We are thankful that Ivelisse was able to accommodate us on such short notice. Thanks for treating our dog like family! We definitely recommend her and would use her again!

Lauren W. was absolutely amazing with our dog, Rocco, during his 7-night stay. From the moment we met her, it was clear that she genuinely loves animals and treats every pet as if they were her own. Lauren was friendly, kind, attentive, and wonderful to work with throughout the entire experience. She gave us peace of mind knowing Rocco was in caring and capable hands. Her dedication to putting pets first truly shows in everything she does. When we picked Rocco up, it was obvious he had been well cared for, loved, and comfortable during his stay. Finding someone you can trust with a beloved family member is priceless, and Lauren exceeded all of our expectations. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pet like family, I cannot recommend Lauren W. highly enough. Thank you, Lauren, for taking such great care of Rocco!

Jennifer was very caring and diligent in taking care of Ava and sent daily updates during Ava’s boarding stay. She was proactive in communicating issues with care and was very responsive. We would come back to Jennifer given an opportunity for future boarding / day care.

We had an amazing experience with Andrea! She was absolutely wonderful with our dog, and it was clear from the start that he felt comfortable and happy with her. She and her family treated him like he was truly part of the crew, which gave me so much peace of mind. She sent pictures throughout the day, and in every single one he looked relaxed, loved, and having a great time. I couldn't have asked for better care. I would 100% recommend her to anyone in the area and can't wait to have my dog stay with her again! Thanks, Andrea!!! 🫶

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
