“Gerry is the best. We just left our puppy with her for his first overnight stay and he was received with lots of love and attention. Would definitely recommend Gerry to others.”

“Vanessa took excellent care of, Rumi. She provided daily updates with pictures, was always reachable, and very easy to work it. I'd recommend Vanessa for any of your pet sitting needs and will definitely book her again in the future. Thank you again, Vanessa”

“Really amazing family to leave your pet with! Thank you so much for all you’ve done to help with watching our cat while we were away. Highly recommended, A++++!”

“This is our 2nd stay with Christine. She has always communicated well with us on Chewie's stay. We love that she tries to watch only 1 dog at a time to keep her focus on the care of 1. We are already booked with Christine in Sept.”

“Megan was wonderful (and her husband as well). They are both kind and caring. Our dog Thora is very timid and acclimated very well. I will definitely use her services again without hesitation. 😀🐶”

“We were comforted knowing that Maggie was well taken care of by Mary. Such a better experience for Maggie than being boarded at a kennel where many other dogs are present. We could tell that Mary loves dogs. We'd definitely book with Mary again. We highly recommend her.”

“Our Remi stayed with Roseanna for the holiday weekend and I can tell she loved it through the pictures and videos she sent me. I loved and really appreciated seeing her running around and enjoying the other dogs! Remi is high energy so this was perfect for her. Remi will definitely be staying with Roseanna and her family again! Thank you for taking great care of our girl!”

“Kathryn was so great! She really loves and understands dogs (and nervous dog moms!) She communicates well and frequently. Her yard is fenced and spacious. I recommend her highly.”

“Rachel took great care of our 15 year old terrier mix Cookie. She sent photos and messages to us everyday we were away. She followed all our directions and I felt relaxed and at ease knowing Cookie was happy. How do I know? Rachel reported that Cookie didn’t want her to stop rubbing her belly. Cookie does not let most people rub her belly!! That said it all!”

“Best dog sitter ever! We left our pup for 2 weeks with Karren and she cared for him like her own. We always feel so comfortable leaving him in her care knowing he will be safe and happy!”

“This was the first time I used Rover and Doug was great! He set up a meet and greet to make sure my Nina and his Tonka got along. He also sent a picture of Nina every day. I will definitely use him again!”

“Kira is a wonderful dog sitter. She took great care of Oscar. He and Kira got along quite well. She took care of his doggie needs and I know he got the best of care while we were away on vacation. I would recommend her as a dog sitter to anyone who really wants quality care and a wonderful home.”

“Colleen was so great with Abe! We had pet care fall through last minute less than a week before our vacation and Colleen was a true life saver. She was reassuring throughout the booking process and sent plenty of pictures during Abe’s stay, helping put our minds at ease. Her home was very clean and welcoming, and we are so lucky to have left Abe in such great hands.”

“Stephanie is everything you would want in someone looking after your dog. I frequently take my senior dog over there for doggy day care or just a few hours when I need it. He just spent 10 days with Stephanie. Whenever he’s there I relax, knowing that he’s in a compassionate place with other friendly dogs to play with, and that he’s been exceptionally well taken care of, and all his needs —including special diet and meds — are being attended to.”

“Nantikan was absolutely fantastic and our dogs Anna and Cooper had a great time during their stay. They were treated like they were part of the family right from the get go. We also really appreciated the daily photos and updates on how they were doing. I would absolutely recommend Nantikan if you need someone to love your dogs and treat them like family members.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bordentown
I have a 15 year-old dog, who no doubt has some issues; eyesight, hearing; arthritis. Chastidy looked after him for 4 days, and she did a phenomenal job! She introduced him to the other dogs one-at-a-time, she fed him his special dinners and medication in a loving way, and she kept in touch with me throughout the week, very well. I would not hesitate to take my prize pet back to her, anytime. 5 stars for Chastidy!
Would give 10 ⭐'s if I could! This is the first time we left our Buddy (4 year old black lab) for an extended trip, so we were extremely nervous. Katie and her husband were great! They communicated often, and when I reached out to them, they never made me feel like I was a bother. All of our requests were respected, and they sent pics and videos through the stay .Buddy got plenty of attention, lots of fetch, and loved having their friendly dogs Todd and Mason to play with . I highly recommend- they know what they are doing, and I will not hesitate to request them again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
