About: I’ve had dogs and cats for as long as I can remember. My personal pet journey started with hamsters and the kittens in my grandmother’s horse barn. As I grew older, my experiences grew to exotics such as ferrets and birds. Then in my young adulthood I became a receptionist for an animal hospital and an animal E.R. There I became a vet tech as well. I later became a tech for large animals. I also volunteered for a private zoo handling the large reptiles, lions and tigers, and the petting zoo. Oh my! After 15 years I could no longer work regular jobs. I became disabled due to the migraines I get. Along the way, I had my own reptile rescue, took care of diabetic cats and people, and rescued different dogs, cats, reptiles, rats, and birds that needed loved. Currently, I don’t have any dogs of my own. I lost her in August 2025. I do however live with my mom who has 2 small dogs in which I take care of every day. I have to feed them their raw diet twice daily. One of them is diabetic and requires insulin at feeding times which is on a regular schedule. The pets I do have at the moment include a sassy cat, a grumpy bearded dragon, my son’s 2 newly hatched call ducks that are his ESAs. His hamster and rabbit, and a fish passed away in May. Our Sun Conure passed away a couple of years ago. She was 27 years old. And when I say my son’s, I pretty much take care of them considering he’s almost 8. I’m willing to help with other animals as well as dogs and cats since I have experience with pretty much all animals. I’ll be doing some horse care in the fall which I can’t wait for since I grew up with horses and have working experience with them. I also take care of the goats, chickens, ducks, and rabbits on an educational farm. So as I said, I’m definitely open to care for more than just dogs and cats even though dogs and cats are awesome! I’m usually a stay at home mom so my hours are flexible. I’m mostly free from 8:30a.m. Until about 3p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday I’m available only until 1:30p.m. Saturdays and Sundays could be possible depending on my mom’s schedule. I’m a single mom and she’s my only babysitter. If you don’t mind him tagging along - if your pets are kid friendly - then I’m absolutely available. He is very good with animals. But, I would prefer to be able to focus solely on your fur baby. I also currently work with Snipes Farm going to schools and teaching farm to table cooking. I also am part of taking care of their chickens, ducks, goats, and rabbits. I usually work with them 1 day a week or so. I know my schedule ahead of time so I can work around it accordingly. I make sure all doors are locked and clean up after your pet. I wash their dishes after feeding. I make sure they are happy and safe according to your guidelines. I treat them as if they were my own. I send pics usually to let you know how they’re doing. As far as walking and possible interactions, I avoid other people and animals, just to keep everyone safe. I don’t want another animal or person to harm your pet.

I reached out to Vanessa to pet-sit in my home, including overnight stays, for three days. Given her background working at the EASEL shelter and her interest in special education and social work, I thought she would be an especially good fit for my two dogs: my eight-year-old, 80-pound poodle mix and my four-month-old, 15-pound Miniature American Shepherd puppy. I was somewhat anxious about leaving a young puppy with a sitter. At four months old, puppies are still learning, and I knew that inconsistent handling could easily lead to the development of unwanted habits. From our very first meeting, however, Vanessa gave me confidence that my dogs were in good hands. At our Meet & Greet, my large poodle mix approached Vanessa with his big, loud, deep bark. It was the first time he had ever met her and she handled the introduction beautifully. Rather than immediately trying to engage with him, she remained calm and allowed him the time and space to figure out that she was not a threat. She didn't overreact or become nervous, and the interaction went very well. When she met the puppy, who immediately started jumping on her, I said, "Off," at the same moment Vanessa said, "Down." She immediately adjusted and began using "Off" as well. That small moment told me a lot. It was clear that she was paying attention to the puppy's development and understood how important consistency is when training a young dog. She listened carefully to my concerns and gave me thoughtful feedback, which reassured me that she truly understood what I was looking for. While I was away, Vanessa sent me pictures and videos of the dogs eating both breakfast and dinner. This was especially reassuring with a four-month-old puppy because it confirmed that they were being fed at the appropriate times. I trust the sitters I hire, but I also appreciate having confirmation that they've arrived and knowing that important parts of the dogs' routine are being followed. I've had sitters in the past who didn't provide that kind of communication, leaving me wondering whether they had arrived or whether something unexpected had prevented them from getting there. A simple picture or message eliminates that unnecessary anxiety for me, and Vanessa was excellent about keeping me informed. After I returned, I asked Vanessa if she would be willing to sit again in a couple of weeks. She adjusted her schedule to accommodate my dates, which I thought was incredibly considerate and definitely above and beyond the call of duty! As I watched Vanessa interact with the dogs after spending three days with them, I could see that she understood the importance of correcting the puppy when necessary and, just as importantly, knew how to do it appropriately. She didn't overreact, but she also didn't let things slide. She was consistent about using the correct commands, which is particularly important with a puppy who is learning what is expected of her. I now have a list of obedience commands that I can leave for Vanessa on her next visit, and I have complete confidence that she will use them consistently. When I returned home, I found the house exactly as I had left it. Vanessa had even stripped the bed in the guest room, making it easier for me to wash the sheets. That small gesture was another example of how thoughtful and considerate she was throughout her stay. Vanessa is attentive, thoughtful, responsible, and genuinely caring. She clearly understands dogs, but what impressed me most was her attentiveness to my puppy's development and her willingness to follow through consistently with the training and routines I had established. I highly recommend Vanessa as a pet sitter and would absolutely have her care for my dogs again. I feel very comfortable knowing that they—and my home—are in her hands.
Someone who is on time, tires my boy out with walks and play, and makes my boy feel comfortable enough to take a nap is a five star for me. My dog’s anxiety can be a lot at times. However having him feel comfortable enough to take a nap and not waiting at the door when I get back in my book is huge.
Diana was excellent at house sitting and pet sitting my two dogs. Followed instructions well and was very communicative. Was great with sending photos, which my wife and I love to receive when we're away. On top of all that, our automated chicken coop door unexpectedly stopped working during the house sitting session; Diana stepped up and let our chickens in and out of the coop at the beginning and end of each day. Rita was so friendly and welcoming to my dog, Lexi and my daughter’s dog Charlie! She came ready to play with them and give them love.
