“Troy and Shalah are true animal lovers and are so thoughtful to the needs of the fur baby parents as well! They recently watched my baby Stumpy and kept me updated with texts and so many pictures! I had my first dog sitter cancel and they were so responsive when I reached out to them! I am happy it worked out this way as they are wonderful! Don't hesitate to book them! You won't be disappointed”

“Ryan was great! She stayed with our "pups" (as she cutely called them) for almost a week. Right from the start she sent texts, photos, and a sense that all was under control. Meeting her before the stay both her experience as a student working towards going to vet school and as a horse owner sealed the deal. We'd happily use her again.”

“Fantastic house/dog sitter! She did an AMAZING job taking care of my two dogs and keeping us in the loop with daily photos and reports. If you get the opportunity to book with Alexa do it!!”

“Giana was such a great help to us when we had an impromptu over night trip. She was very communicative and sent so many pictures of our Shiloh! I would absolutely recommend booking with her and I can guarantee your pet will be happy too!”

“This was our first time using Rover and Michaela did an excellent job. She was interested in the dogs and particularly vigilant about sticking to our care routine considering one of our dogs has some medical needs. She was communicative and sent us updates each day. We couldn't have asked for a better first experience for our babies.”

“Joshua watched my great dane for a week and did an amazing job! He was in constant contact with me, and sent over 100 amazing pictures! Joshua had patience and was so kind and understanding of the care I needed for my dog. Highly recommend and will be using Joshua again!”

“We just came home after leaving our dogs with Nora for the first time, and I can say it was an overall great experience. She communicated well and quickly, followed our detailed instructions, kept great care of our dogs, and left our home in immaculate condition. She was reliable, trustworthy, and had a positive impact on our dogs' well-being. I was a little nervous as it was the first time we had worked with her. She sent a pic of the dogs with her the first evening that put me totally at ease. Highly recommend. - Mike”

“Great puppy sitter. Puppy seemed very happy and content when we came home. Followed all instructions. Our puppy actually was jumping on Karen when she was leaving and not us. Will definitely ask Karen again.”

About: Hi! I’m Madison and I’m a college student athlete home for the summer! I have taken care of all types of dogs and pets since I was 10, and have always had many animals in the house since I was little. I have experience with many types of dogs with many different personalities, sizes, ages, and care needs. I currently have a pitbull and a yorkie at home, and have had many other pets prior including guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, and ducks. I am comfortable with both large and small breeds, as well as senior dogs who may need a little extra care and attention. I am comfortable administering basic medications such as oral medication, topical treatments, or ear care. Beyond caring for dogs, I also babysit for multiple families and love to care for little kids which has given me the experience to adapt to different households, schedules, and routines balancing both pets and kids! I’m currently a college student-athlete home from school on break, and I am available through August. I am very flexible with scheduling (mornings, weekends, etc.) and can provide stop in visits and consistent care throughout the day! I try to make pets feel as comfortable as possible by sticking to their normal routine so they feel at home and stress free while owners are away, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, fresh water, treats, etc. I also like to keep them entertained with walks, parks, playtime, and lots of attention throughout the day! I currently have two dogs at home, so I am used to dogs of different sizes, personalities, energy levels and needs. I have experience with older dogs who may need more assistance and attention and can administer basic medications, as well as younger dogs who may want more exercise and playtime. When in a client’s home, I always make sure to respect the space and follow routines and special requests carefully. I also like to send photos and updates to owners throughout the day so they feel connected while they’re away!
“Kelsey was very prompt with responses from the beginning and throughout the stay. Her questions when we had first met gave us confidence that she knows what she is doing and she is the right person to take care of our dog. During the stay she followed our asks and took good care of our dog. We will work with her agin”

“Emma took excellent care of our two dogs while we away. She followed all instructions and was very responsive both before and during our trip. We came home to two happy pups! I would definitely book Emma again the next time we need an overnight sitter.”

“Rachel was the best! I Zoe and Zen (our 50 pound dogs)) were well taken care of and seem to enjoy their mini vacation at her house. She was really easy to deal with as my trip had a few small changes. I really appreciated the picture she sent! My dogs give her a paws up rating!”

“Alexis was a great sitter for our two big pups! She spent a lot of time with them and sent daily photos! She followed all the feeding and sleeping instructions and we came back to a clean house! She even left treats and cupcakes for us to give the pups on our return!”
About: I have experience with all types of animals from cats, dogs, birds, and even chinchillas. Walking them is a pleasure and also makes me happy since they also get some time out of the house. I’m available to walk in the mornings to get that early rise as well as in the afternoons! It’s nice to get to walk outside and get some sunshine but also chill if needed. For my pets on my home as well as my clients I make sure they’re stimulated enough as well as have all the care they need.
About: I love dogs and have volunteered at the local shelter for the past 6 years...walking, feeding, cleaning cages of dogs and cats. I have owned several dogs over the years...all rescues and mixed bully breeds. I am currently retired so I have plenty of time to spend time taking care of your fur-babies. My home is pet friendly and I enjoy taking your pet for walks. I have a fenced yard. I can easily crate your dog if needed. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and in my bed. I enjoy taking dogs for walks and there are several walking paths in my neighborhood.
About: I’ve been taking care of family friend dogs in my hometown for about 5 years. My neighbors always relied on me to watch their dogs while they were gone for a weekend or for a week for vacation. I love playing with dogs and learning their little personalities. I currently own two cats and they are amazing and entertaining to say the least. I currently work during the day from 8am to 5pm out of the Ewing, NJ area so I am available evenings during the week and weekends. I will work on gaining the cat or dogs trust depending on how the pet feels. I’m really great with trying to talk to them and learning their behavior/personality.
About: Animals have always been a big part of my life—I’ve had pets my whole life and started pet sitting for friends and family at a young age. I naturally connect with animals and focus on making them feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention and care. I am actively job searching, but I prioritize the pets I’m caring for and keep my availability up to date. treat every pet like they’re my own. I stick to their usual routines, give them lots of love and attention, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. Whether I’m in your home or mine, I keep things clean, calm, and stress-free so your pet can relax while you’re away.

Gabi was amazing with my puppy! It was his first time with a sitter (and overnight too), so I was a little nervous, but she kept me updated the whole time with plenty of messages and pictures. I came home to a clean apartment and a happy puppy. Thank you, Gabi!!!

Sierra was wonderful with both of our dogs and staying at our house to make sure the dogs were well cared for. She even helped us out preparing our house for an open house the weekend she was here and taking both dogs out for the couple hours the house was showing . Thank you so much Sierra for all of your help.

FAQs for House Sitting - Roebling
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Roebling on Rover is $74.93 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,495 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Roebling. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Roebling walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Roebling maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Roebling choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Roebling. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
